Dream Vacation

Guest: Kathryn (Las Vegas)

My family and I loved staying at this "Gorgeous Vintage Home." It truly is gorgeous, creatively remodeled, and graciously furnished. The rooms are large and comfortable, with comfy chairs & beds. Breakfasts outside on the patio with the waterfall in the background surrounded by lovely flowers was a delight, and I could have spent all afternoon on the porch looking out at the mountains. Everything was immaculate and the kitchen had all the equipment we needed. Our family felt so lucky to be able to enjoy this wonderful place and hope to return.

A True Delight and Relaxing Retreat

Guest: Catalina family (California)
Date of Stay: 07/07/11 Review Submitted: 07/29/11

This home is spacious, beautiful and clean - a real gem with it's own personality. A great place for a family or several couples. The architecture of this vintage 3-story home is wonderful with large rooms throughout, sitting porches, french doors to bring in the beautiful outdoors, and a wonderful garden patio with a fountain. The fixtures in all the bathrooms have been updated, the hardwood floors are beautiful, and the master bedroom's 4-post bed, giant shower and luxurious soaking tub divine. Even more enjoyable is the original artwork throughout the house - every room is decorated with color, and every wall hung with the owner's beautiful art. We cooked family meals in the enormous kitchen all updated with marble countertops and a subzero frig. The dining room has a huge table perfect for gathering around or playing games, as well as a lounging nook perfect for naps or a good book. The living room is spacious with 2 couches, and has a TV and DVD player with lots of movies to choose from. The extra half bath on the main floor was wonderful to have. There are 3 bedrooms on the 2nd floor - the master, and 2 other each with queen beds. There is a large bathroom in the master bedroom, and a full bathroom in the hall for the other rooms to share. The 3rd floor has a landing with a queen size futon, and a bedroom with a queen bed - so much room, we didn't even use the 3rd floor! The owner could not have been nicer or more helpful. There were even welcome treats on the counter when we arrived. It is in a great location on the west side of the main street, just up the hill a bit. We drove into the hub of town, parked for free and tooled around each day. We definitely recommend this property!

we spent a lovely time at this ashland home--we were welcomed with wine, cheese and crackers, and spent our time at the plays, reading and playing music in the backyard, on long walks, and eating each meal outside at the garden table. it is a 20 minute walk to downtown, and the walk home from a play, under the starry sky is lovely. absolutely no problems or issues--a perfect home. we had 2 couples and 3 adult children in the home!

This lovely home with magnificent views in Ashland is a wonderful place to stay. It is an old home with lots of interesting architectural touches. It is spacious, beautifully decorated with original artwork and homey. The yard around the house offers plenty of room for people to find solitude. The house itself sits up high on the ridge with great views of the mountain and valley. It is conveniently close to walk into town and to take hikes. And to top it off, Jussara the owner will take good care of you ! We have rented the house several times now and we are all looking forward to going back to a cozy and delightful stay.

You must stay here if you are visiting Ashland

Guest: Freddy (Chicago)
Date of Stay: 12/03/10 Review Submitted: 04/22/11

My boyfriend and I decided to visit the Ashland area and stumbled upon this charming victorian house close to town. Needless to say, this is one of the most amazing houses I have ever stayed at! The inside of the house is covered with amazing art/decor and was very cozy and comfortable. Incredibly clean and well maintained. I marveled that this historic house is in the shape that it is. The architecture and conditions are impeccable and we really enjoyed talking with our hostess about its significance and history in the community. The outside area is breathtaking! It is whimsical in the way the trees, plants and flowers are set. The waterfall area offers a calm and relaxing place to sit along with the redwood trees. The woman who owns the house is a wonderful soul and we look forward to keeping in touch with her in the future. You can walk to town and we spent many days checking out charming Ashland. Very close to the library, restaurants, theater and Lithia Park. Hiking trails are located right behind the house. We were able to see every possible side of Ashland that there is to offer. This house is a steal in regards to ambiance and location. We will definitely be back and plan on bringing friends and family with us next time! Thank you for such a wonderful experience.

Owner response: Please say hello to John and Nicole. It was a sweet overlap and it worked out like a gem - you've made great new friends !

Exquisite Time Together in a Beautiful Home

Guest: John and Nicole
Date of Stay: 12/01/10 Review Submitted: 07/04/11

We had a wonderful and exquisite time in this beautiful home through Christmas time. It confirmed that this is the area we want to be living and have a family. The garden & old trees and the near hiking paths, the peacefulness... is what we were needing to get us through the changes that we were about to make in our lives- this is a very nurturing home, with original art and wonderful colors. I'm sure most people (if not all) will agree that it is a delightful home.

Guest: Layton (Portland)
Date of Stay: 11/24/10 Review Submitted: 01/05/11

We rented this home through Thanksgiving for a family get to gether since it is halfway between Portland and San Francisco. 7 adults, four children an our pets and we all had a great time. Lots of room for everyone, and the house is convenient to DT Ashland, stores and hiking trails in the Ashland hills! Pictures don't do the home justice. It is nicely decorated and furnished with wonderful views from many rooms, especially the master suite! Great family areas and a super fireplace made for lovely evenings and meals together. Enjoy!

Owner response:Dear Layton, Thank you for sharing your experience at our house. I look forward to having you and your family back ! I feel blessed for having warm and loving folks like yourselves come and stay here .I'm happy to hear that your stay was a wonderful experience for all. That is the history of this house. It 's been owned by one family and they were very sweet people and were a close family. So, I want to keep the tradition !

A wonderful retreat within the city of Ashland

Guest: Karen
Date of Stay: 09/01/10 Review Submitted: 07/04/11

We had a great stay at this wonderful home where we've now stayed on several occasions. The decor is wonderfully artistic, bohemian and cozy all in one. I loved the art work on the walls and purchased a piece that I was drawn to. You may find yourself doing the same ! The location is an easy walk to downtown and theaters and when we wished to be away from it all , the house provided a very private setting. The water fall in the patio is a great place to have breakfast ( delight in the sunshine), or enjoy a nice dinner and a glass of Southern Oregon wine while listening to the crickets sing-free of charge !

I brought my family here and we thoroughly enjoyed this house ; the art , the decor, the views and the quiet privacy. It was very inspiring for us all , especially for our daughter who is interested in majoring in art. We'll hopefully be returning in 2012 and make it an extended stay !

The perfect spot to take in the beauty and charm of Ashland.

Guest: Storyworks (Sausalito, Ca)
Date of Stay: 10/30/09 Review Submitted: 04/21/10

We have stayed in this amazing home several different times. Twice in for Christmas and another time in the spring. The house itself is charming with plenty of room for a large family gathering but still cozy and intimate. The owner is an artist, so the house is filled with great art. It almost feels as if the house itself is one great piece of art. We love renting this house to host our extended family. There a large kitchen and a dining table for eight. The bedrooms are all comfortable and impeccably decorated. The master bedroom has one of best bathtubs I have ever seen. The views, especially from the bedroom and the kitchen windows are stunning. The house is close to downtown and everything you will want or need during your stay. I highly recommend a visit to Ashland and our favorite vacation home.

Owner response:Thank you so much Sean. I hope your travels and exciting life with your family continues onward. I certainly have enjoyed your creative approach to living as well as Alex, sofia and Lola. The trees(and fairy folks) are certainly missing the girls and their fairy dress up tea parties in the garden.(and tree climbing!) Please let us know when you are coming this way again,we'd love to have you all back.(!)

The spacious house has so much character. A WONDERFUL window seat where you can read forever. Kitchen to satisfy any chef and a charming back yard with a fountain where you can eat all your delicious efforts. We had such a delightful time in the house we are very eager to stay there again in 2010.

Owner response:Hi Simone, Thank you for your delightful and sweet response about your stay at the house. The house loves you too ! China in particular is looking forward to your stay here this year. Just the other day she's asked me about you .( she said to "please bring caviar this time around!.." .Well, what can you expect from such a regal looking, fun, black- green eyed cat ?) I'm very happy that you are coming to stay and bringing along your interesting and beautiful friends.
