Wedding week at Yacht-Sea

Guest: Chris (Allentown, PA )
Date of Stay: 09/05/11 Review Submitted: 09/18/11

Our son was getting married at Bethany Beach in September 2011 and Yacht-Sea proved to be the perfect gathering point for family members and wedding related events. From the pre-wedding crab fest on the front screened-in porch to the bridal shower buffet set up on the new kitchen island, the house lends itself to various activities, but there is always a quiet nook to find if you just need a place to rest. And since Y-S is a beach house, the down times at the beach were welcome, especially with all the available chairs, boogie boards and a wagon in which to cart everything. We will be sure to visit again soon and would recommend it to others.

A Perfect Weekend

On the heels of Hurricane Irene, we blew into town, our cars pregnant with beach toys and boogie boards. None of us truly knew what to expect. Of the seven adults in our party, only a few had actually been to Deleware, and in those cases it was merely a drive-through on the way to Ocean City. For the most part, we all expected to find the typical beach house -- a lot of space, beach-life inspired knick-knacks, much foot traffic and the resounding squish of flip flops and squeaky wagon wheels grinding sand to and fro the beach. Much to everyone's surprise, there was none of that... well save for the knick-knacks of course. Instead, we found what appeared to be the perfect fusion of a camping cottage and a spacious beach house. I know it's cliche' but the term, "nestled" comes to mind when I try to describe the house because it literally is nestled in a deceivingly dense wooded area. Privacy was never an issue. And the annoying traffic of families making their way to the beach in the morning and home in the afternoon that usually accompanies any beach house did not exist at Yacht-See. If anything, it took a bit of effort to get used to the tranquility, but I would consider that a rather positive attribute. Also, the beautifully remodeled kitchen was wonderful. Overall, we found the house clean and perfectly suitable for all fifteen guests.

This well-appointed house combines up-to-date appliances, air-conditioning and utensils with the feel of an old-fashioned beach house. The plentitude of large rooms and porches insure that many guests can enjoy privacy as well as socializing - good for entertaining as well as solitude.

Yacht Sea house at Middlesex Beach

Guest: Sus (Poolesville MD)
Date of Stay: 07/01/11 Review Submitted: 07/14/11

The 'Yacht Sea' house was a great family vacation rental. We had a large group of siblings and cousins staying together. There was plenty of room for everyone because of the spacious layout of the house. There are different common areas in the house, so different activities can be happening at once; TV on in one room, puzzle set up in another room, reading room, large porch area with hammock. The beds were all comfortable and the house was very clean. The house has a beautiful new kitchen that makes preparing meals for large groups easy. The neighborhood is quiet and an easy walk to the beach and stores. We have been coming to Middlesex beach for years and love it. It is a private beach and is less crowded than the neighboring beaches. The area has lots of great food and shopping. We love ghost crab hunting at night and going to the boardwalk.

I would highly recommend Yacht-Sea for a family vacation

The property offers the best of both worlds, nestled in the woods with a beautiful uncrowded beach a couple blocks away. The home is clean and well maintained. There was plenty of space for everyone. It was nice having two refrigerators to use. Very nice kitchen and dining area. We especially enjoyed gathering on the screened in porch. Carol was very helpful, providing us with floorplans and additional pictures. The guys enjoyed a day of golfing nearby. We also went ont on a half day fishing trip. Plenty of nice restaurants to choose from.

We had an absolutely fabulous time staying at Yacht -Sea. The house is just right for multiple children and families. The new kitchen is awesome. The house has all the amenities you need for a great vacation. Private access to the beach is one of the best privledges. You will love it.

Fantastic Beach Getaway!

My friends and I spent a long weekend at the Yacht-Sea this month and we had a wonderful time! The house was clean, organized and equipped with everything we needed for a great weekend. It had beach toys, board games (for a rainy Sunday) and cooking utinsels. The house was the perfect size -- big enough to allow everyone their space, but small enough to feel cozy. We enjoyed the sunroom when it rained outside and loved the backyard and screened-in porch for our meals. The house is within walking distance of the beach, too. We loved the house and hope to stay there again next summer. Thank you!

Loved our stay!

This property was perfect for our extended family. 3 master bedrooms for the 3 adult couples; our twin grandsons (kindergartners) slept in the room with the twin beds, in the room right next to their parents' room. The house not only matches the promises in the listing--but actually surpasses it, since a mere listing can not capture the beauty and the quiet of the woods and the comfort of the many private spaces. Wonderfully equipped, too: so many games to choose from!

Terrific space for a group and everything stated was accurate. The kitchen was extremely well stocked with everything needed for every meal. The outdoor grill was great too.The large amount of games etc. and bikes was a bonus. Convenient little grocery up the street...great Dollar Tree with everything else. We just needed to stay longer!

A great vacation spot

We loved our time at Yacht Sea. Our party had 14 people and we easily fit in the house with room to spare. Carol the owner was a pleasure to work with. The house was very clean, very well maintained and lacked nothing. We spent a lot of time in the multiple sitting areas, the nights were a little cold to spent out on the deck but that space in warmer weather would have been well used. I would recommend Yacht Sea to anyone going to Bethany Beach, it was a fantastic house.
