This charming one bedroom apartment is located on one of Amsterdam's most famous canals in the Negen Straatjes (9 Little Streets). Located on the top 2 floors of a small canal house, the apartment is a short but beautiful 2 minute walk to the Flower Market, the Spui and the Leidseplein. This is truly located in the center within easy walking distance to all major tourist sites, including Dam Square, the Anne Frank House, the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum, the Vondelpark and the Rembrandt House.
From the street you step into the entry hall equipped with hooks and baskets to hold your coats, hats and shopping bags. Up the stairs, on the first floor you will enter into a lovely living space with gorgeous canal views. This main room is about 325 square feet and is furnished to function as living room, kitchen and office/dining room. There is comfortable seating for 3 guests, a flat screen tv with media center to play cd, dvds and radio. There is also a desktop that doubles as a dining table and if needed, there is also a gateleg table. The open kitchen is attractive and although small is fully equipped for cooking a several course meal. The fixtures include a dishwasher, a gas cook top and a combination convection/microwave oven.
Up the stairs to the second floor you will find the separate toilet (enclosed) and the large and luxurious bathroom open to the bedroom. Note that while the bath area is open to the bedroom, draperies are available for privacy. Not seen is the cabinet in the bathroom that contains the combination washer/dryer. Bed linens and plenty of bath towels are included.
The apartment receives afternoon sunlight, filtered by the trees in summer. While we prefer to rent to 2 people we will consider a 3rd family member. Unfortunately we can only provide a comfortable mattress as we do not have space to store another bed frame.
There is space in the bedroom for the single mattress or the table can be moved to make room in the living area.
This apartment is well suited for the business traveler as well as the holiday traveler. It comes equipped with secure high speed wireless broadband and a printer. While there is a laptop available, it is an older model so a business traveler may prefer to bring their own. |
