First off, I took a spring break with my small children ages 5 and 3 to Gulf Shores from Atlanta, GA and was very excited about the trip. Laura was very helpful with booking. Then when we arrived to the room, it was definitely NOT as expected. The rooms were as pictured, but then I went to the bathroom and it began!! When I went in the bathroom, it smelled of old urine that had sat for months. After spraying and lighting candles, we left the room to come back to the same terrible smell. I had to hurry and bathe my kids get out of the bathroom. I called Laura and someone else called me back hours later to ask what the smell was like. They sent the cleaning lady that came and just bleached the entire bathroom. Well the next day the SMELL returned and I called the cleaning lady again and she called the maintenance man to come. That night the maintenance man didn't come, so I had to watch the championship basketball game with a foul smell throughout the room. As the game was playing and 34 minutes into the game, the televisions stopped working. All 3 tvs stopped working and I couldn't watch the end of the game and see my alumni win the championship with an awful smell. Well the man didn't come until the very next day in the evening, so we spent a full day with the smell again. He came and caulked the toilet and it held the smell until we left. Also while there the master bedroom had a spider in the comforter which almost crawled on my son. Then later, I found a tick in my son's back. The balcony smelled awful. Never have I walked out on a balcony (open with an outside breeze) that smelled bad. After all of this, needless to say it was NOT what I expected and we will NOT be returning to this place!!! WOW!!!!
Owner response:This condo was booked for the entire month of March by a winter guest that books every year, and booked the previous two months by a different winter guest. When those guests left, they rebooked for the following year and there was nothing wrong with the bathroom or the condo. When this guest arrived there was nothing wrong with the bathroom as it was inspected that am and cleaned right before she arrived....we even let this guest check-in early, she called late the night of the 1st and said that the bathroom smelled....cleaning was sent and cleaned again. Nothing was mentioned of any other issues and we asked her if everything was okay and she said yes. Maintenance was placed on call that night and she never called back. She called back late the night of the 2nd and was checking out on the 3rd and said the smell was back....maintenance re-caulked the bathroom when she left. We offered to re-caulk the first night but she said she did not smell after the bleach and it was not necessary. Unfortunately, there was not an issue for the entire previous three months and how it un-caulked between the time she checked in way before 3 and then time she called after 8 we have no idea and were truly sorry her experience was not pleasant.

This condo is just as the pictures show. The beach is just across Beach Blvd. We had an amazing, relaxing time. We met families that come to Lani Kai Village all the time and they were very friendly. We were able to leave things out on the back deck and not worry about anything disappearing. It was nice and quiet the week after Christmas, and we had amazing weather. Thank you for letting us use your condo, it was much more relaxing than a hotel or a large complex. We will be back and will recommend this to others, but not the week after Christmas, because that is the week WE will want! Thank you Laura. It was a pleasure!

This was the best time I have had in a long time it was the perfect get away and this place could not be more perfect. The condo had everything anyone could possibly want and I MEAN EVERYTHING--- down to laundry detergent and extra trash bags. It was very clean. Laura- I could not have found a better travel agent. My brother, niece, nephew, and I had so much fun on our trip, and staying in this condo made it that much better. Within walking distance of a convenient store was very handy, located just across the street from the beach made it easy to go back and forth as we wished, and the covered parking was a bonus. We couldn't figure out how to make the kitchen outlets work, but that wasn't a big deal to us. The listing says it has two bathrooms, but I only found one. Regardless, it was a great property, and we will be back!!
