There are many great homes in this area. Although our home is truly a retreat. I once wanted to own a spa and the closest I have come is adding endless amenities. The grounds are beautifully landscaped allowing for a walking meditation admiring the wonders of nature.
Using our outdoor walking labyrinth calms your mind as you weave into the center and out. Adjacent is the hot tub to soak your weary bones.
The outdoor living room cabana is equipped with a gorgeous stone fireplace. A glass of wine and the flames of a fire are a great way to end a summers day. Lounge by the pool and or revitalize in the sauna, you choose. We let you decide how warm you would like the pool (additional fee)
We have a king, full, and three twin mattresses on the second floor. The trundle beds are great for overflow and perfect for night use.
The living room has a pullout couch. There is a queen size bed in the studio above the gym, a full size bed in the cabin and a futon on the enclosed porch. The porch is perfect for summer nights. Keep in mind the outbuildings are a rustic experience and do not contain bathrooms..
The only question you will be asking yourself each day is which means should I use today to relax? Perhaps take a bath in the claw foot tub surrounded by candles in the master bedroom? Or indulge in a steam shower? Or lounge on the deck off the master bedroom? Or do you love to cook?
Our sunlight kitchen with Viking stove with 6 burners and griddle allows for plenty of creativity and hours of entertaining. The stove is serviced regularly.
One charming feature of being in the Garrison area are dirt roads and driveways. We are preserving this feature and have a dirt driveway (A wet spring could mean a little mud). Most of our guest from Manhattan prefer and appreciate the quiet reflective opportunity to connect with family, friend and themselves. Wireless internet and cable are available.
Lastly, we thrive on feedback and suggestions only in this way can we continue to enhance the beauty of this vacation rental. If you rent with us know that you can contact us anytime to assist in making your stay delightful.
Lots of options. What are you waiting?

Why the Owner Chose Garrison
We started looking for a home as close as 30 minutes to Manhattan but could not find what we needed. Upon entering the town of Garrison we knew we had found home. Imagine a rural setting within one hour of Manhattan. Plus we are a two minute car ride to the train station. Having the ex -governor who is an outdoor enthusiast helps in preservation of this charming town.
The Unique Benefits of this Farmhouse
Privacy is one of the many features enjoyed at this home. The lot is considered to be flagpole shaped which means we have a long driveway and the neighbors are not pressed up beside us. The 50 acres and horses across the street are an additional a bonus.

This property was absolutely perfect. Plenty of room for myself and 13 others to sleep comfortably, enjoy each others company, and take in the beautiful surroundings and nice country feel of the house. The fireplace gave a very warm feeling to the house and provided a great setting for everybody to relax. I would highly recommend this house for anybody looking for a nice, relaxing time.

I stayed in this house this past weekend with six of my buddies plus our dates for a formal function at our school. The house is beautiful inside and out. The kitchen is full service with a professional viking stove; if you want to do any kind of cooking here you'll be able to. There is a nice dining room table for more formal eating and also a smaller table in the kitchen itself that's nice for breakfast. The living room was spacious; we were able to take the mattress that was out on the porch and put it in the living room to increase the sleeping space. The master bedroom upstairs is gorgeous with a king size bed and a beautiful bathroom; there's also two other bedrooms upstairs. Outside there is a grill, pool, sauna, and hottub that are great for relaxation in both the summer and winter. There is a fitness room with just about everything you could need to get a good workout in. Above the fitness room there is another king size bed; there is also heating in there so it is functional during the winter time. There is a cottage adjacent to the fitness room with another bed in it, it also had heating. Lots of beds in this house! Can easily accomodate 14 people or so (if you're willing to share beds). The house has just about everything you could possibly need, very easy to entertain yourself here. Didn't feel like I really needed to leave to do anything! If you want to though there's lots to do in the area: hiking, fishing, shopping, etc. Great house! We would love to come back again sometime, hopefully in the summer next time so we can get a chance to enjoy the pool! Thanks Bud and Claudine!

Myself and 8 friends rented this lovely house for New Years this year. "Best New Years Ever," said everyone! Claudine and her husband were so incredibly accommodating and when their hot tub malfunctioned the day before our arrival, they went out of their way to rent a new one! We had a dance party in the sauna and lay around by the wood stove reading books all weekend, it was just incredible. There's so much attention to detail on the property and a lovely, cozy, home-made feeling to every room. I can't recommend this place enough -- thank you Claudine!

We had an exceptionally fun and relaxing weekend at this house. It was a short drive from New York City, but felt a world away. We are very much looking forward to renting this property again soon. We highly recommend this place. You will not be disappointed!

Thank you for giving us such a beautiful and relaxing space for our weekend-long work meeting. Even though we spent a good amount of time in serious meetings ad discussions, the beauty and calm of your property still made it feel like a relaxing get-away and a treat for all of our participants. We had a great time cooking together in your spacious kitchen and chatting long into the night in the gorgeous outdoor patio area, accompanied by almost unreal moonlight and chirping crickets!

Thank you so much for opening your beautiful home. You provided us the perfect location to re-connect and renew our friendships. Your attention to detail and extra touches like the IPOD dock was amazing. What an amazing property that so easily accommodated 9 women for the perfect escape weekend. The outdoor fireplace by the pool was a true highlight.

Five star accommodations! Exceeded our imagination. We could not have been happier with our week rental. We felt like we were on retreat and the grounds provided plenty of space for our 2 families, allowing the children to be free yet safe and contained. The master bath is to die for, kitchen lovely - fully stocked. Additional bedrooms worked well with our party of 12, allowing everyone to have their own space. Cannot wait to rent it again!!!

My husband and I wanted to do something a little different to bring in the new year. We decided to rent a home outside of the city to be away from the hustle and bustle. We were thrilled to find this property available for us to rent. We rented the home from December 27-Jan2nd and had a great time! The owners were very helpful and the master suite was amazing. There is a deck right off the master suite which we did not use because of the cold weather. Despite the cold weather we enjoyed the warmth of the hot tub and sauna. We are looking forward to another retreat here soon!

Our family stayed here during July 2010 and had the best time. The house is very comfortable and the outside pool area is just magnificent. There is a lovely pool house so even when it rains you can be outside enjoying the views. Also we have a 4 year old and the pool area is very safe and closed off. The owners are very welcoming to their home and were extremely attentive during our entire stay for any questions or issues we had. We left the house after our month's rental feeling very relaxed and ready for life back in the city. Cold Spring and Garrison are lovely villages with lots of hiking and outdoor activities. We would definitely rent this home again!
Owner response:It was a pleasure having you in our home!

I rented home for a family reunion/son's wedding, attracted by the beautiful photos of a spotless place, and the fact that it was big enough to sleep 9-11 (and i was told it could sleep upto fifteen), it had a heated pool and great outdoor space for the kids. While the location COULD accomodate as many people as stated, the listing failed to mention that two of the bedrooms were in separate cottages that did not contain running water or a bathroom. These rooms were quite removed from the house, and it was uncomfortable at best to get to the house to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night! Another bed was in a beautiful porch that was so cold at night, you could see your own breath. Great for summer, but this was fall. The "in-house" bedrooms: master was large and wonderful. Other bedrooms had two beds each, but when you pulled out the additional bed, you could barely move about the room itself, so it was uncomfortable especially for two adults sharing. Two bathrooms are not enough for more than six people. You could not take two showers at once due to very low water pressure. On arrival, we were asked not to use one of the bathrooms (remember, there were only two!) for at least one day, as it had just been refinished. We were only staying five days, so this was very inconvenient. While the review describes a heated pool, and I specifically e mailed owner before arrival to make sure pool was opened, we found that the pool was not only not usable, as it was 'green', but we were told that if we wanted it heated, it would cost an additional $300! At any rate, we would not have been able to use the pool, heated or not, because it was not in usable shape even upto the day we left. The house was not set up for a rental, especially at these prices. Closets were full of owner's stuff and it was not in the cleanest condition. In particular the master bathroom was not clean. The kitchen is gorgeous, but the gas stove top was very difficult to use to the point of dangerous. The owners are charming. The location is great. It would be a good house, with some of the above improvements, for a couple of adults and a few kids, or two couples. At the price we paid, the place, in my opinion, should have been spotless and everything should have been in working order. Unfortunately, it was not
Owner response:There are two sides to every story. I was quite surprised to see this review. The email below was received upon departure : “hi there claudine! we had a wonderful time at your home, which provided us with a great place for our family to get together. I left you a note with some of the little issues we had, but these did by no means ruin anything for us. I have rented both my homes here and abroad and also rented other's homes, and we all thought we would leave you a mini list of what could be improved. Again, though, we had a great time.” As you can imagine we were stunned by the review... This is a 1910 farmhouse which we spent three years updating and bringing into the 21st century. We are continually enhancing our home and welcome feedback to make sure our guests stay is as pleasurable as possible. For 7 years we have catered to families of 4 up to 14 (during West Point Graduation and local Weddings, etc). This is the first time we have had a negative review. The bedrooms have trundle beds that are typically used during the night. If they are left out during the day, then one room might be considered tight. If you read the above post again the guest mentioned that the master bedroom is large and wonderful yet later stated the suite was dirty. We take pride in the master bedroom suite as this is a place of solace. Because our guest have limited time and MUST enjoy their stay, we have created a binder which details each room and how to operate different items like the dishwasher, the sauna etc. The Viking stove is an industrial professional stove and is services regularly. We leave our cell numbers and request to be contacted at a moments notice to rectify anything out of the ordinary. The guests had our cell phone numbers and did not alert us to anything dissatisfactory. We respond immediately or enlist the help of those who can remedy the situation. I feel badly these guests did not exercise their freedom of speech in the moment, but waited two months to then voice grievances. To my dismay, these guests trashed our home by having a post reception party without informing us. They also had a brunch the morning of their departure, moved outdoor/ indoor furniture around, food, beer, champagne bottles, glasses and plates were everywhere. Our home was mistreated and left in a completely disrespectful, manner. We love and appreciate feedback only in this way can we better serve our guests. Email or call to have your questions answered
