If your looking for solitude and a place to do activities any season, this is the place for you! Where the Bras D'or lakes meet the Gulf of St. Lawrence/Atlantic Ocean, we are located at the center of Cape Breton Island. Our property is central and accessible to all the beauties Cape Breton has to offer. We are a 30 min drive to Baddeck, 90 to Ingonish, 50 min to Sydney, 20 min drive to an entrance point to the famous 'Cabot Trail'
This cottage was built in 2006, with a fully equipped kitchen and brand new appliances. The property is on a hill with a beautiful view of the Bras D'or Lakes. You can cross the road and have full access to 600 feet of our waterfront property which includes a pond where you can fish for trout, or when in season mackerel from the ocean. This is a winterized cottage so winter activities and accompanying 'toys' are welcome, cross country ski's, snowshoes and Ski Doo's...
The other seasons have lots to offer too, biking along the 12km of dirt road (dead-end) that is free of heavy traffic, hiking the mountain behind us. You can visit the 'Glooscap Caves'(Ferry Hole) and hike/swim to them, the entrance is 2km from the cottage.
The beachfront accumulates driftwood from the sea daily, which can be used for night time bonfires on the beach. You can view the World Famous Bird Islands in the distance from the beach, home of the Puffin, a rare sea bird. We are a very short drive away from 'Bird Islands' tour boat companies.
Our beach is rocky but you will not find water any cleaner. Our kids love to explore it as there are always great things to find seashells, starfish, very unique stones.... Bring you Windsurfing boards, kayak's, snorkels, do nothing at all or stay busy all day.
If your a fan of Celtic music, our annual October Celtic Colors music festival is something everyone should experience, amid the full autumn colors the season has to offer. The Gaelic College in St. Ann's a main venue for the festival is only a 20 minute drive away. Also, the stunning views of the Bell Bay Golf Club is a 30 min drive away in Baddeck. |
