2 story, 4 bedroom cottage located on top of the dunes with a beautiful panoramic view of Lake Michigan that can't be matched no matter what the season! You'll remember the sunsets forever!
Located in a private association, our 5 acre property includes a pond, woods, and wildlife in addition to the beautiful views. Take your pole on a short hike to Lost Lake (if you can find it!) and catch some fish. Access to the cottage is by a series of stairs that lead up from our private parking area. Hike down to the shared access private beach and enjoy the best of the Lake Michigan beach, sand, breezes and waves. Take a walk on the beach for miles in either direction!
The four bedrooms are all upstairs including two with queen beds, one with a double bed and one with bunk beds. There is a second bath with shower on the main floor along with a washer and dryer. The main floor includes a full kitchen with bar stools plus a great room that includes an expandable table that can seat eight. Five sets of sliding glass doors bring the views and breezes inside. An expansive deck surrounds the cottage so you can take advantage of the summer sun no matter what the time of day.
Come and get away from it all in quiet seclusion enjoying the best that Lake Michigan has to offer. Or venture out and enjoy the many attractions that are near the Montague/Whitehall area including Silver Lake Sand Dunes rides, Ludington, Duck Lake, White Lake, fresh fruit picking, the Double JJ Rodeo, and the Michigan Adventure Amusement Parks.
An outstanding choice of golf courses includes Old Channel Trail, Double JJ Resort Thoroughbred Golf Club (Arthur Hills), Arcadia Bluffs, Manistee National, Grand View Golf Course and Hemlock Golf Club. The Hart-Montague Trail State Park offers 22 miles of paved bike paths.

Your place was amazing! Great views and so clean, comfortable, and well stocked. My mother had a few bug bites and was grateful to discover anti-itch cream by chance in the medicine cabinet. We brought groceries with us and thanks to your amenities had no reason to go into town at all during our stay! We appreciated the privacy and the timely return of the security deposit. The family photos were a nice touch. You have an endearing family and the fact that you built the cottage together is heart warming. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us!

This cottage gave us the opportunity to have a family vacation just like I remember from my childhood. Afternoons at the beach with miles to walk in either direction were followed by evenings playing games at the dining room table. Perfect. The cottage is comfortably furnished, but is not fancy, which made it ideal for the young children we had with us. They also appreciated the extra acres of dunes and woods to explore. There is a substantial climb up to the cottage, but the stairs are well maintained, and there is plenty of parking below. The deck area surrounding the entire cottage has gates with latches, making it safe for our little ones. The photos and description on VRBO do accurately reflect what you will find at this cottage, and the owners were great about answering any questions we had. I would definitely recommend this to others. As far as activities away from the cottage, we didn't do too many because our kids had so much fun at the beach and in the dunes. We really only ventured as far as an ice cream shop in Montague, and the Country Dairy for one meal. Both were just fine, and good for our large group.
Recommended for:Girls getaway, families with young children.

Very clean and well maintained. The kitchen and baths are well stocked with kitchen utensils and some dry good essentials. The view is spectacular and the privacy is nice. The owner is very prompt and polite about anwering questions before our stay and returning our deposit afterwards. Our entire family very much enjoyed staying here for our vacation. The kids loved the sand dunes and having lots of room to roam on the beach....four enthusiastic thumbs up!

"Excellent Vacation Spot" Our family had a great time. The cottage/house is very spacious, clean and has a spectacular view. We loved watching the sunsets from the patio with a cool breeze blowing off Lake Michigan. The beach is a little hike but it is well worth is. The beach is clean and there were some great waves for the kids to ride.

"Comfortable cottage, lovely view, great beach" Our extended family loved this cottage, it was very roomy, modern & comfortable. The view was outstanding, we enjoyed watching sunsets from the deck. The beach was great, although the walk to it was a bit steep. Our family enjoyed the area attractions, including the water park, horseback riding, and bicycling.
