Spectacular ocean and mountain views are the hallmark of this spacious island-style home. The great room, which contains the living and dining spaces in an unobstructed sweep, and a modern, completely equipped kitchen are on the upper level.
You'll feel as if you're in a tree house floating among the palm fronds as you gaze on the unequalled vista of Diamond Head, the open Pacific Ocean (complete with humpback whales in season), Maunalua Bay with its picturesque boat traffic, and the green crags of the Koolau Mountains rising behind the Hawaii Kai area.
The generous lanai deck offers an even more open view, with space for alfresco dining as well as sunbathing; steps lead down to the rustic pavers of the patio, sheltered in the professionally maintained tropical garden and featuring a newly tiled swimming pool.
Even from the pool deck, the view is wonderful; the city lights of Honolulu provide a twinkling backdrop for your moonlight swims.
The master bedroom, second bedroom and den are on the pool level. All bedrooms have a tropical-Pacific decor, designed for comfort and easy living. The master has a queen-size koa wood bed and a new flat-screen TV with over 100 cable channels, and air conditioning--a feature seldom needed in this home, because it is sited to take full advantage of the natural breezes.
The den has two desks with WiFi internet connections for your laptop and a double-bed size futon for those unexpected guests (or need for a nap). The third bedroom features two single beds and is connected to the main house through a sunroom, which provides a little separation and privacy from the other bedrooms.
This room even has its own private patio, complete with fishpond and exotic flowers. The completely enclosed garage contains a full-size washer and dryer for your exclusive use.
Although this home feels wonderfully secluded and private, its Koko Head location means that the amenities of Honolulu, with its restaurants, museums, and cultural attractions from the Waikiki aquarium and city zoo to the symphony, are only minutes away.
Even closer are some of Oahu's best beaches, varied hiking trails, and other recreational opportunities. The shops, award-winning restaurants, and multiplex movie theatre in Hawaii Kai are a five-minute drive away. We rent our special home only once each month, so reserve your time soon--and you too can say, "So lucky we live Hawaii!"
