I recommend this mountain home for anyone who is looking to escape the busy city life and enjoy the delightful comforts of “Tranquility” in Sparta, NC. Plenty of activities for everyone: hiking, fishing, and kayaking. For those of you who are less adventurous I would recommend reading a book in the hammocks by the New River or star gazing at night by a camp fire. The home is luxurious and super comfy with plenty of space and an awesome game room! The experience is well worth it. Definitely try it out!

This is a great house for extended family or group of friends. We had three generations here for a week. There was something for everybody. We tubed on the river, walked in a nearby stream, hiked at Doughton Park, sat on the porch in rocking chairs and enjoyed the cool breezes, played in the hammocks, had a big bonfire; biked; played ping pong and pool, and enjoyed the many games in the house. There was enough room inside to spread out, and the kids spent a lot of time in the water and under the big trees on the front lawn. The setting is idyllic, quiet, with a pasture with wildflowers on one side and the wide river in front. Yet the house is only a ten minute drive into Sparta and the Blue Ridge and two hours from Charlotte or Greensboro. We found the inside a little outdated and cluttered but the space and setting made it all worthwhile. The owner was very responsive with any questions we had. This was a week that will live in our memories for a long time!

We thought the house was great. I liked the many places to sit and read a book or just get lost in the beautiful view. We all love the game room. The hammocks and fire pit was just another good time to be had. Thanks for sharing your house, it had everything we needed to make ourselves feel at home.

This home is a wonderful place to stay for large families or a couples retreat (like ours). The view is simply amazing and the close proximity to Sparta made it such a convenient location. Being right on the river was such a treat, no hiking back up a hill to get back to the house. Breathtaking views in the morning, a game of pool before lunch and bonfires in the evening...what could be better! Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful home!

I have never been to more incredible location. This home is spectacular! What an incredible setting -- coffee on the deck listening to the rustling rivers, Bonfires in the evening roasting s'mores with the family. Location, Location, Location. Near the canoe drop where you float down the river and finish right in the front yard. Close proximity to Virginia Creeeper for a leisurely "roll" down the mountain on the bike with a short family picnic partially on the way down. This home is HEAVEN!
