The beach house was wonderful. The beach was oil free, the last few days of our stay the ocean was so calm and crystal clear. You could see dolphins by just sitting on the beach. We had a great time while we were there hated to leave. Looking foward to next year already.

Hi Rose, Just wanted to check in with you to let you know that we are having a great time at the beach house. Except for a couple of rain showers every now and then everything is beautiful here. The beaches and ocean are clean and free of oil and the air is fine as well. you can not smell anything in it except the wonderful smell of the beach. The beach house is very nice and stocked with everything you need. There is no sign of the oil being a problem in this area. I would tell your upcoming guest to Please do not let rumors of otherwise deture you from continuing with your plans to visit Gulf Shores. -Jonathan Campbell-

Hi Rose,Just wanted to say thank for a wonderful stay last week! We had NO oil issues at all...would't know it was going on if you didn't watch the news. The house was great! We had 3 families with a total of 12 people and had no issues the house was plenty big. The beach cart/toys and pool stuff was great..really made things nice. We were concerned with sharing the pool and that was not an issue either. All in all it was a great time! Thanks again!

Rose, We had a wonderful time at Sugar Sands! We stayed in # 5 and it was wonderful! There was so much room! You can fit a pack-and-play in the upstairs hallway closet (it has an air conditioning vent in it) and the master bedroom has a massive closet that is like another room (it also has a vent too). We did not have a single day of rain and there was NO OIL in sight!! The waves were fabulous. It was so nice to be able to walk out the door and be at the pool or beach! Being so close to town was great too. We all agreed that we had the best area as far as not a lot of crowd, yet still really close to town! Also, the lagoon is just literally around the corner. There is also a public dock down the street (turn right onto 13th street and then take your 1st left and it's just beyond the rope in the dead end). My nephew caught a TON of different fish off that dock and it was within walking distance! 5/8-5/16/2010 ~Michelle Ballard

Nice and peaceful and more than enough room to hang out together comfortably. A couple of the kids preferred the loft "hippy room" to a bedroom! We had an absolutely wonderful time in SugarSands! It fit all of us girls perfectly and there were so many bathrooms and bedrooms that we all had our own space. The family room was fabulous and the view was incredible. The deck was great for morning coffee and the paper and a lot the girls went for runs right down the street. We loved staying here!

Rose, Our entire family had a WONDERFUL time this past week at Sugarsands II. As I stated before we even arrived, you had already created a wonderful experience. I am in the service industry and I can honestly say you provided an EXCELLENT Service Experience during the booking and up to our arrival at Sugarsands II. Never at any time did I not feel fully informed about how we were to proceed with our stay. Your constant email communication was outstanding. You even went the extra mile to provide directions two or three days before we departed! I have already and will continue to recommended Sugarsands II to anyone! The house if fantastic, the pool is wonderful and you can literally walk to the ocean in less than 2 minutes from the front door. The location is great, there are no big high rise condo units to block a beautiful view of the ocean or create a crowded feel on the beach! We took our extended family to Sugar Sands for a week of R&R on the Alabama coast. There were 11 of us (five grandchildren ages 4 through 7 who were seeing the ocean for the first time). The beach was beautiful - a very short walk. We watched the dolphins swim and perform each morning, my grandson couldn't get enough body surfing in the "gnarly waves", we hunted crabs at night and the weather cooperated beautifully. The pool was a great way to end the day with the kids splashing while the grownups could enjoy a nice glass of wine (in plastic cups, Rose!). Rose was available to answer all our question before and during our stay - very responsive. This is a wonderful vacation rental.

I have nothing but good things to say about Sugar Sands. This was my very first time to this area and went on line to find this spot. My children kept saying "You went on line, this is beautiful" We had plenty of room to spread out and we have a large family, very tastefully decorated, clean, could walk to the beach. It was not very far.

Perfect location! Right across the beach with it's own saline swimming pool. Perfect for families and extended families. Property was very clean. We plan on staying here again.

We went to Sugar Sands back in June and absolutely loved this beach house. We have always stayed in condos or hotels, but this beach house was just like being in a home. Very nicely decorated, well stocked with all you could possibly need, and large enough for 2 large families. We loved it and will probably never stay at a condo again. We plan to go back next year. Rose was a delight to work with. Very, very highly recommend!!!

We had a great time in Gulf Shores. This was our first time to stay in a beachouse rather than a condo and Sea Sands was amazing. I never want to rent a condo again. Very nice decorations and well stocked. Just like being at home.

We were thrilled at the seascape, the beach house is well appointed, clean, great deco and layout,spacious, beach toys and a private pool to boot. The sea is reminiscent of the oceans we have always loved..from NY to Michigan to Ft Lauderdale, (great body surfing!) The people everywhere were SO friendly...(seafood at half the going price) We golfed,(found a state of the art tennis facility and played (FREE), watched a kite surfing demo in front of the beachhouse, and LAYED BACK!

The house is absolutely beautiful and very spacious! We had 14 people staying and we had plenty of room. Every room is attractively decorated and very comfortable! The kitchen has everything you need. The pool was great and had plenty of pool chairs. The kids loved all the beach and pool toys. We have 8 kids in our family and not one of them had to wait to play with something there was more than enough toys to entertain them. The house was conveniently located next to all the shops, restaurants and grocery stores. The beach is also fantastic. Thanks Rose! It was a pleasure! We look forward to staying again!

WOW! The house was a perfect setting for our group: 7 Super 2009 Senior girls along with 7 moms who took turns chaperoning the week. It was a great Senior Trip for these girls who have practically gone to school together since 1st Grade! Each mom/daughter cooked for the whole group at least once during the week in the amazing kitchen! We even fired up the gas grill twice!! ROOM? - There was plenty for all of us. The weather wasn't "cooperative" all the time; however, location, location, location was enough for us!! Thanks for allowing us to rent. The girls are still talking about the trip...& moms are too!!!

This is a wonderful place to stay. It was clean and the pictures actually look like the reality. As soon as we walked in we knew that we were going to have a wonderful time. WOW! What a beautiful home and superb location! The home was equipped with everything we needed from the electric griddle to tons of beach toys! The kids had more than enough to keep them busy in the sand and water. The home is perfect for large groups (we had 10) without stepping on each others toes. The views were gorgeous and we really enjoyed having a deck with chairs off each bedroom. The home is close to grocery stores, restaurants and souvenir shops...everything you could need within minutes. We really enjoyed the washer and dryer so we didn't have to pack as much or bring home dirty clothes! Rose was such a pleasure to work with before and after our stay and we hope to return again in the future. You can't go wrong with Sugar Sands!

This was the most wonderful Christmas holiday our family has spent together. Your home was perfect for our family! Everyone around us was so kind and helpful. There is so much to do around the area with our kids and grandkids. We watched the daulphins jumping in the ocean right off your balcony. This home made us feel like we really had a vacation. Our family rented this beautiful home for our parents 50th wedding anversary. It was perfect. Plenty of room and each room was decorated with comfort and beauty. Plenty of beach towels,chairs and toys. We didn't have to buy anything. Rose, the owner was so kind and went out of her way to make sure it everything we wanted and needed. Our family had a marvelous time at this home in Gulf Shores! The house was perfect for our family to reunite for a summer vacation! We had the best time in Gulf Shores, and loved every minute of our beachhouse. The house with the swimming pool was so accommodating for large families and kids. It was absolutely beautiful and we created so many memories at this house. We can't thank you enough for all the wonderful accommodations you provided to us and the big extra mile you went for us to get us what we needed. You guys were wonderful to work with and very good communication. We enjoyed the pool every day we were there....and the house was fabulous. Before you even get to the beach house, the owners are TREMENDOUS to work with! Their home is beautiful and VERY spacious- great for a large group. The pool is wonderful and the walk to the beach is not even long enough to call a walk! Access to beach is VERY SIMPLE. Everything you need is there right down to the sand pails & boogie boards! We left our crab nets there - be sure to take them down to the overpass west of the home and go crabbing with the kids!! (The key is to tie on a turkey neck to the bottom of the net! The crabs loved it.:) ) We would definitely rent this unit again. Thank You, Rose & Bart for your hospitality and for sharing your beautiful home!

The accomodations were wonderful as promised. The unit has spacious common areas and is beautifully appointed. The pool was well maintained and beach access was excellent. We travelled 3000 miles to stay at this beach house and we couldn't have enjoyed ourselves more. The house was beautifully done, great location to the beach and a big highlight for the kids was the pool. Our travelling was by plane and therefore we were unable to bring a lot of beach accessories, it was great having all of that available right down to the beach towels. We chose this location to visit with our friends from Alabama and Louisiana, everyone enjoyed themselves. Hopefully we will be able to meet again in a few years for another beach rendezvous. This was one of the best vacations I have ever had, the accomodations were superior; the owner is a very genuinely nice person who is truly concerned with your comfort. No expense was spared in decorating the home nor providing small things like boogey boards, umbrellas, and sand pails for the beach. This rental unit is awesome, The owners are wonderful people to work with, and always available for questions. The unit itself is BEAUTIFUL! The kitchen is STOCKED with everything you will need. They even went the extra mile and in the utility room had chairs, boogie boards, sand toys, electric grills. All the way down to Xtra beach towels. The area is quiet, yet close to the action. This building was across the street from the beach, but it didnt take ONE minute to get to. I have NO NEGATIVES! Wonderful place to stay.
