This vacation spot will be hard to beat for those who like to hike, fish, bike, hunt, or cross country ski. And when you are done having fun all day, there is a large deck to sit back and relax. A short walk will take you to a trailhead then down to the north fork of the ST. Vrain . This is a wild trout area with cutthroat, rainbow, and brown trout. Unlike most areas on the front range this spot gets very few visitors. We have recruited the help of Chuck Prather "Flyfishing Services Inc." to help you find and catch fish on the many streams and lakes in the area.
Rocky Mountain National Park is only 20 min. away (Wild Basin). Downhill skiers you are about 1 hour to Eldora, and Backcountry or telemark skiers you are within 20 min. to the Indian Peaks region. Shoppers you are only 45 min. to Boulder, and only 30 min. to Estes Park on the scenic Peak to Peak HWY.
And maybe the best reason to rent the cabin, the “Bluegrass, Folks, & Maybon festivals" in Lyons (20 min. away). Planet Bluegrass puts on numerous concerts and festivals in an outdoor setting that has no comparison. Put all these reasons together and you will be hard pressed to find a better setting for your next vacation.

Year Purchased: 2004
I am Aaron, Liz my wife and I moved to Colorado over 30 years ago and have never left because of the many outdoor activities in the area. If you come visit us we will be more than happy to share our knowledge of where to go and what there is to do.
Why the Owner Chose Allenspark
Liz's aunt bought the property in 1960 and did nothing with it. Because of that and its closeness to Rocky Mountain National Park we decided to build our vacation home here.
The Unique Benefits of this Cabin
Hiking or cross country skiing is what we like to do here. We sit right next to a large section of Roosevelt National forest and there are a lot of places to go. I personally like to hike down to the North Fork of the Saint Vrain and fish. Because not many know about this spot we usually have the place to ourselves. If that doesn't quench your thirst for things to do we are 35 min. from Estes Park, 20 min. from Rocky Mtn. National Park, 40 min. from Boulder, and 20 min. to Lyons and its music festivals.
