QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS FROM A PAST GUEST:
? If the condo is part of a neighborhood, do we need passes to the beach, to use the beach chairs, pool, tennis courts, parking, etc & will you provide them?
Because of past infringement on the privacy of the community, guest passes to the pool, tennis and beach are necessary. Your house key has a tag with proper identification to insure your admittance to the amenities, should anyone ask for it.
? Is the beach itself very nice ... to put it crudely, is it just a strip of sand or is it a place where we can spend the entire day if we wanted?
It is bigger than a strip of sand, but, it's not a massive area. It is private to our community only. It is lovely and quiet, and you could spend the whole day there.
? A lot of people say to stay at Ocean's Edge ... do you have any basis to compare the 2 places?
Ocean's Edge is a resort. With LOTS of people. This is private and secluded with far fewer people milling around. It depends on what kind of experience you are looking for. We love it because we like quiet.
? What sort of a deposit do you need to secure the place?
1/2 upon booking and the other 1/2 one month before your visit.
? Is the area kid friendly & are you OK w/ the ages of our 2 kids ... 3 yrs. old & 4 months old?
We love kids and have five of our own. It is family friendly...but, like I said, it is secluded. Do you prefer lots of crowds or privacy? If your goal is to build family time, I think you will love the place and make it your cherished spot for vacations every year!
All the furniture in it is new...(no old stinky mattresses!)
I am a chef; the kitchen is well equipped...(not that you'd spend too much time cooking on your vacation!) There is a little area outside the sliding screen doors with a grill and table and chairs....also a screened in porch.
It is very spacious and clean. You must secure linen rentals or bring your own. (There are blankets, pillows and quilts and mattress covers on each bed)
The neighborhood is VERY QUIET...even in the summer. There is a private pool and 2 tennis courts a few hundred yards from the unit. VERY Family Friendly!
We are one of the closest homes to the Bay. A VERY short walk to the Bay and private beach...which are also quiet and exclusive. There is a 'deck' overlooking the bay where we often go for sunset cocktails...walk down there with a 'picnic'...it is gorgeous. Cape Cod Bay is one of the MOST scenic places on the East Coast.
In high tide, it is phenomenal swimming...in low tide..you can walk out about 3-4 miles and...clam dig or just walk. It really is a sight to behold...the weirdest thing I have EVER seen when the tide goes out...we plan our day around getting out there to see it!
To get to the beach, there is a stairway down. Once down there, the association provides beach chairs which are in the little beach 'shack' on the beach...Every time I have been there...it is like 10 pple total on our beach!
It is in Brewster, so, of course, that side of the Cape is more settled and less 'touristy'...The Brewster General Store, Excellent Farm Stand, Fish Market, Gift Shops, Thrift Shops, Health Food Store, places of worship and Ice Cream are all within a mile or 2. One of the BEST restaurants on the Cape is right there as well...'Brewster Fish House'...they don't take reservations...get there by 4:45 if you don't want to wait!...also the other great place to eat up there is the Waquiosset Inn in Chatham...Hip outdoor bars and restaurant...also upscale dining...inside.
I am so darn picky and particular about where I sleep and dwell....I would say the ONLY draw back to this place is the stairway down to the beach...the association re-built the stairway in 2009. It is much less steep and has seats to rest on along the way. The steps are no big deal if you are in shape or want to get in shape...or stay in shape! It's my excuse for not going to the gym while I'm here!
We wish you, your friends and family a beautiful, serene Cape Cod Break!

This rental was exactly as described and so wonderful. The beach was a short walk and often we were the only ones on the beach. My family loved being able to walk to both the pool and beach and we often did both in a day. We also loved riding our bikes to the rail trail, which was only a couple miles away. Beds were comfortable. Excellent property and I would highly recommend.

My boyfriend and I enjoyed this rental, along with my daughter and her husband. Planning the trip in June was great because there were no crowds. We enjoyed the house itself - and the location was perfect. The owners of the property have prepared the house with all of the essentials. We even enjoyed a game of Scrabble on a rainy evening. We utilized the tennis courts and pool - which are steps away from the house. Finally - the beach itself is wonderful. Private, beautiful, relaxing....just what we needed. I hope to have the chance to return to the Cape - and I would rent this spot again!

My family of 6 had a wonderful stay at this rental in Brewster. The place was clean and well stocked with all of the things we needed. The Sears Point community was welcoming and well maintained. The location was perfect with so much close by. We will definitely plan another trip next summer. Thanks!

Great Stay in Brewster!
Great Stay in Brewster!
My family and I had a wonderful time at this lovely Cape Cod condo. We have stayed at other locations in Brewster and Eastham and found this one the best for us so far. We rented for a month mostly in June, which is early and quieter. The bay is so close by, and the pool and tennis courts are also available and in excellent condition. Laid back and friendly atmosphere in the condo complex. Very private accomodations, and all is as advertised. Spacious and bright. Easy to get to all...Chatham, National Seashore beaches, Wellfleet, Ptown, etc. Great restaurants in Brewster! We love the Bramble Inn and Chillingsworths, and Kate's makes a great lobster roll. Hope to be back soon!

Our family returns to Brewster year after year. We keep waiting for the magic to dwindle, but it hasn't yet! Jon and Betsy's home is a beautiful spot to enjoy all the Cape has to offer. Their home is spacious and clean and the private beach, pool and tennis courts are wonderful ways to fill your days. If quiet, secluded family time is what you are after, this is a fantastic spot!

Fantastic Family Cape Vacation!
Fantastic Family Cape Vacation!
This place was perfect for our family. The pictures on this website do not do the place justice, it's larger than I expected and so well maintained. Our kids are 4 and 5 and with the beach and pool within walking distance, it was exactly what we wanted. And like another review mentioned, we were the only ones on the beach much of the time. The beautiful sunsets on the beach were wonderful. I would definitely be interested in renting next year if the place is available. Thanks again Betsy and Jon for a great vacation!

Hi Betsy, We got home this morning from our week at your Cape House and I wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay. Your home there is absolutely beautiful and the proximity to the beach and tranquility is unmatched. My husband and I have been renting places down the Cape for years and years and this past week at your place has been by far our favorite. Our kids are 6 and almost 3 and the fact that we could walk to the beach was fabulous. We had the beach to ourselves Monday-Friday and on Saturday and Sunday there were only a handful of people there. Amazing! I also wanted to thank you for fixing the AC. It worked great all week once the AC repairman came. And please tell Jon thank you for the help connecting to the Internet. His trick with the router worked. We would be interested in booking again next year if you are still planning on renting out. Please let me know when the calendar/booking would be available. Thank you again for sharing your beach home with us :) Kristi

Betsy, I left a note for you at the house, and then realized that it would be cleaned up and you wouldn't get it. The weather didn't really cooperate, but we had a great time nonetheless. My conference (at the Ocean Edge) was a very good one. I'd like to plan on attending another one, run by the same hospital next summer. It will probably be in late July. Do you rent the house throughout the summer, or are there weeks that you tend to hold it for yourself? We loved the house and would be very excited if we could plan to come back July, 2010. Thanks again

The place couldn't be closer to as you described on the site. The kids love the pool and the beach and having both so close was essential for us. I came to the Cape every year from 3 years through high school and stayed at my Grandma's place in West Dennis, so I am bias to this part of the Cape, especially in high season.

About the owner: Jon and Betsy Hunt collect real estate based on location, location, location. They have another rental property located in their private home which happens to be the OLDEST 'frame' house located in a vibrant hometown atmosphere in Newtown Boro of Bucks County; just 35 minutes from downtown Philadelphia, PA.
Why the Owner Chose Brewster:
Jon's family is from the Boston area. When his Dad retired in 1987, he set his sights on a fantastic opportunity to live by the Sea. Having always chosen his real estate with the 'location' rule in mind, Jon's Dad found this amazing piece of paradise in Brewster, MA. When Jon's father passed away, he left his favorite place on earth for us to enjoy and we decided to share it with others. We hope you will feel like it is your home away from home. We 'let go' of the world when we arrive here. It is a place to truly take a break from your day to day activities and listen to the quiet and smell the fresh breezes from the bay.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
Sears Point is a quiet community built above the bay and surrounded by acres and acres of Wildlife Preserve. We have our own private beach, two tennis courts and a swimming pool with spa. We have changed our turnover day to MONDAY so our guests can avoid the terrible traffic on the weekends.
