Property description

OPEN SUMMER AND FALL: 3 day minimum June 1 to August 31 - 4 people work, $50 extra per day for each person over 4 - please discuss this with Isabel; dog friendly (two dogs max). See rates below for each season.

ANIMA OPENS FOR CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR'S ONLY HIGH SEASON RATES; 5 OR MORE DAYS $300 per night. Ornaments and tree stand in the upstairs eaves. Red Flyer and plastic sled there too! Find your child within. Give yourself permission to disconnect life and sleep in feather beds. See 'rates' for added costs for winter stays.

SUMMER- June 1-August 31: $180 A NIGHT - Rocky Mountain Summer when Columbines line the stream, and green meets New Mexico cornflower blue skies

FALL-September 1-October 10: $200 A NIGHT. Getting cool now - Franklin stove needed! When I hike off trail, I stand 1,500 feet above the valley, among the 'golden coins' of the fluttering aspens, looking down at everything painted gold.

WINTER: Christmas and New Year's only - 5 day minimum rental @ $300 a day - reserve early please!

BE SURE TO SEE THE VIDEO because Anima is not for everyone: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4m2ZeuzDYO4&feature=player_detailpage

ANIMA HAS:
. A posted wireless connection, and a computer
. Plenty of DVDs played on the small TV
. A dog friendly environment
. Works best for 4
. Is on Facebook and Twitter

WHAT ANIMA IS:
. Anima is a family-owned, very beloved place that some say, is spiritual. Your respectful use is so appreciated because everything in it, is a memory.

. A simple, uncomplicated environment
. A place of great beauty
. A place to put yourself together again, to find peace, and comfort, a place to go behind time and gather your loved ones to you.
. A left turn up the mountain for hiking
. A walk across our stream bridge to Rubezahl Ski Run - and down you go!

WHAT ANIMA IS NOT
. A one night stand
. A too tight cram of too many people or too many dogs
. A party place
. Very little kids do not work
If you don't mind not having TV reception, a dishwasher, or a washing machine , it's the place for you.
The deck off the living room HAS NO RAILING. BE ADVISED.

Best, Isabel, Owner.

Owner info

Year Purchased: 1984

About the owner: Isabel lost her Bob IN 2012. It was a wonderful marriage, full of adventure and travel of the world doing home exchanges, but we always came home to Anima. Isabel is a retired elementary, and gifted ed. teacher, writer and author of Nonno's Monkey, an Italian American Memoir. She editing her second book, Tafoya's Laundromat, much of it, like Nonno, written at Anima. She manages two homes and is the general contractor and mini-maid of all seasons. She goes to Taos to do the laundry, hangs linens, then irons pillow cases, so that's why she has that three-day minimum. She believes truly in that harmony that comes to a soul, with the beauty that surrounds Anima. She is not interested in having a dishwasher, a washing machine or cable TV. She does relish PBS DVD's, good books, music, which are all at Anima, morning Caffe Robusto with the best sweet mountain water in the world, and an excellent 5PM Cab on the decks overlooking the year-round Lake Fork Stream. It is her greatest teacher. She believes in the healing value of simplicity.

Why the Owner Chose Taos Ski Valley:
If you need peace; if you need rest; if you need to put yourself back together again - come to Anima. If you're a hiker, backpacker, a mountain biker, you will be right on a ski and trail trek run for easy access to all the above. Isabel is a first generation Italian American whose people came from the Italian Alps. She's got a little mountain in every gene she possesses, so having this place wasn't a want or need, but a total obsession. Her Italian 'comeonna my house' persona delights in guests who share her love of this space, and who become friends.

The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
SEE VIDEO: isabelbucher.com - click video WHAT ANIMA IS: A very beloved place of peace, rest and comfort. Anima is a home, not a 'rent.' WHAT ANIMA IS NOT: A one-night stand A party place
