The Creekside Lodge sits in a quiet vale of aspen on the edge of a clear, cheerful creek, perfect for the fisherman or anyone who values tranquility. In summer the land is a multi-colored carpet of wildflowers; in winter the world is white, and the Tetons form a perfect backdrop for the five-acre property. The Lodge is a magnificent five-bedroom house, built of logs and local stone; its open, airy rooms have wide views of woods and mountains from every window. Though the property feels secluded, Teton Village is just a few minutes away.
The kitchen has a wood-burning fireplace set next to the breakfast table, and the gracious, inviting feeling of the lovely firelit kitchen is echoed throughout the house. The office is paneled in rich wood, and its French doors open to the clean Wyoming air and the grove of pale, slender apsens. The massive stone fireplace in the great room is a work of art.
A bridge crosses the living room and leads to the master bedroom and three guest guest rooms. Here, off the bridge, is the state-of-the-art home theatre, sound-proofed by a wall of glass and yet as replete with glorious view as the rest of the house. All five bedrooms are equipped with flat screen televisions, and all of the guest bedrooms have queen size beds. The master suite is a perfect retreat; one hardly need leave – there is a private balcony, sumptuous king bed, sitting area with reading lights at the ready, a stone fireplace and a spectacular view of the Teton range. One of the guest bedrooms can also be used as a recreation area; here you’ll find a trove of games and lots of room to play.
It is a wonderful thing to head back in the evening from an outing and see the lights of Creekside glimmering through the trees in the lavender half-light. Creekside is a splendid house: welcoming, roomy, luxurious; secluded and yet central to all the wonderful adventures and vistas that are so abundant in Jackson Hole. |
