We absolutely loved Big Bamboo! This was our first trip to Seascrest and could not have been happier with the area as well as the house. Big Bamboo is very spacious,very clean, and very well maintained. Plenty of room for lounging and playing games or curling up on the porch with a good book. The guest quarters was perfect place for my parents to have some quiet time to themselves in the middle of 8 grandchildren. The pool was huge and gorgeous. We had kids ranging from 4-16 and they all loved it! Easy walk from the house. Big Bamboo in the in the back for the neighborhood so isn't quite as close to the beach. However, it is certainly a walkable distance (depending on how much stuff you have to carry!) or the beach tram was great option for those that didn't prefer to walk. The tram was dependable and timely. Staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. The neighborhood is really cute and quaint. Also very quiet and family friendly. We mainly ate in but there were lots of really cute restaurants to chose from. Most probably would not accomodate large parties easily but perfect for couples or smaller families. We also found most of the resaurants quite pricey...$20ish a person for entree only. We would highly recommend the Red Bar in Grayton beach. Really really fun and different atmosphere. However, go early. It got insanely busy! Also had wonderful BBQ in Seaside at the Barefoot BBQ camper. Made several visits to Charlies donut camper next door at Alys beach. I think they open at 6:30 with fresh donuts made daily and stay open until they sell out. Big Bamboo does not have bikes so we simply rented them from a local company for the week(Big Fish). They deliver and pick up at your front door. I would highly recommend having bikes if you like to be out and about but not necessarily driving in the car. We used them everyday as there are paved trails that extend for 30 miles. 4th of July fireworks on the beach were amazing!!! Alys beach has free kids movies in the park on Tues. nights and free concerts on Wed nights. Bring chairs/blankets and cooler with snacks and you will be set. It was not crowded and just fun to be outside in the park. We were thrilled with our experience and are planning to return next year!

My family really enjoyed staying at Big Bamboo this past week! There were 11 of us and we weren't crowded. We all could go get in our little space for some quiet time if needed. The golf cart was really handy for making the trip to the pool and touring the neighborhood. The pool was gorgeous and extremely spacious, 12,000 sq feet is huge. When the sun goes down the pool area is lit with beautiful tiny lights rapped around the palms. We enjoyed an evening swim and had the whole thing to ourselves. Loved the house, the pool, and the neighborhood. The beach was perfectly clear and not crowded. There were several beach floats and chairs at the house which came in handy. WE had a relaxing vacation and loved the house.

Perfect Family & Friends getaway!

We have just returned from a delightful week long vacation at the Big Bamboo with our family of 5, plus 5 additional teens! Most people thought we were crazy for taking extra teens with us, but to be honest...this house was PERFECT! We never felt as though there were extras and everyone had an excellent vacation! The house is perfectly situated for every one to feel as if they have their own space! The addition of the golf cart is an extremly fun bonus and you will thoroughly enjoy its use! Do not hesitate to book with Jim and Ellen, they are a delight to work with. Seacrest Beach has been a favorite of ours for years, and now Big Bamboo is a new favorite house! Thanks again for a memorable vacation!

"Small" Family Vacation

Our extended family spent a wonderful week at the Big Bambo over Spring Break. The house was fabulous and we especially loved the decor. (My husband & kids visited the other "Big Bambo" in 2010 and loved the photos of the BVI throughout the house.) There was plenty of room for the 14 of us to spread out and we found the large dining table to fit us just right. The teenage girls especially loved the tower room! We loved the area and took many walks to the beach and the area shops. Love the beach tram service and having the golf cart available was an extra bonus. The weather was perfect and the beaches were gorgeous. We'll definitely be back!

We had a great time! Several family members from across the country made the trip and they were all impressed by the Big Bamboo. Access to the golf cart was a huge plus! It felt like home, plenty of room, the space over the garage provided a quiet getaway. Owners were easy to work with, nice. Thank you for a great experience!

We stayed at Big Bamboo in mid July 2010 and had a great time. Had 14 total guests and there was more than enough room for all. We were very happy upon arrival as the house was even better than in the pictures. Use of the golf cart was very handy for trips to the pool etc. Would reccommend for anyone who has more than 10 in their party. Our whole family loved Big Bamboo.

Our week at Big Bamboo was amazing! The house is beautifully decorated, full of "extras", and located in an awesome area. It comfortably housed 9 adults. The price is hard to beat and the owners are fantastic to work with. We will be heading back!

My family have now stayed twice and love it. We have stayed at Seaside and Watercolor and prefer this location next to Rosemary beach. The golf cart is a treat and the Boys enjoyed the huge pool.

We celebrated my husband's parents' 50th wedding anniversary with kids and grandkids at Big Bamboo. It was a wonderful week and the house was everything and more than we expected! The teenagers loved their separate quarters and the house perfectly accomodated our family. The anniversary couple were thrilled. The pool is very close and the golf cart made trips to the beach very easy. We would definitely come back to Big Bamboo!

My husband and I were married in the South Walton area six years ago and have been vacationing there ever since. This past June we included our college-aged children, their friends, grandparents and cousins. We had a great time at Big Bamboo and I must admit that the golf cart was the hit of the week. We will definitely refer other people to your home and we will visit again when we have a large group.

What a fun place to stay on vacation! The owners put such detail into every room. It was fun checking out all the different levels and the great view. You couldn't ask for a better pool and outside activies. Even on a rainy day our time at the "Big Bamboo" was truly enjoyable. Our home away from home.

We had a really enjoyable time staying at Big Bamboo in early June to kick-off our summer. We were vacationing with another family and the house accomodated us all well - plenty of bathrooms and bedrooms for everyone. The house is easy walking distance to the pool (for kids too) and the neighborhood tram service made the trip to the beach easy too. We hope to visit the Big Bamboo again soon!

We had a wonderful time in your lovely home. It was perfect for our growing family and the carriage house was wonderful for a guys get away. They needed some space from the little ones. Everything was so convenient for our week stay of enjoying the beach and the wonderful pool. The house was decorated so nicely and loved the large dining table which was great for meals for the entire family and lots of fun for our games at night. I would also like to say that I have rented in Rosemary Beach last year and it ended up being a nighmare. Renting with you guys was so easy and I appreacate you trustin me with your lovely home and hope to see you again next year if we can manage to get us all together again.

We have just returned home from a 5 day stay at your beautiful home at Seacrest Beach. We rented for our family and our son's groomen to stay in for our son's wedding. The carriage house was just perfect for the guys to get away and have their own space. My daughter really enjoyed the flamingo room, great for a teenage girl. The kids wished it had been warm enough to go to the great pool.

We stayed at Big Bamboo from 07/05/08 till 07/12/08. The house is really nice. We had a large family get together. The only negative thing I would say would be they need to have the couch cleaned. We truely had a great time and really enjoyed our stay at Big Bamboo!! We would recommend this house to anyone.
