Great Condo, Great Location!
Great Condo, Great Location!
We had a wonderful time at this condo in the Beachside Colony complex. The condo was very clean, well stocked, nicely decorated and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! You do have a partial view of the ocean, the balcony was nice to sit on and enjoy coffee in the morning or wine in the evening. There were 3 adults and two children in our party and we had more than enough room. The underneath parking was a little tight as mentioned previously, I have an Explorer, but once you get the hang of it, it's no big deal, and I saw people with much larger vehicles managing just fine. The pools were small but very clean, the larger one is heated, the pool area is clean and well kept. To the left of the building about 200 feet away is direct beach access, and the same distance to the right is the pool area where you can also get to the beach. Missy was very easy to work with, we had no issues at all, we would definitely stay here again, everyone in my family just loved the unit. It's also 6 feet from the elevator, couldn't be more convenient. Thanks for a wonderful stay! We can't wait to come back!

Labor Day week at the beach
Labor Day week at the beach
The condo was great: neat, clean, well furnished (just like the pictures) and in a good location for the beach and restaurants. We especially like AJ's and Northbeach Grill; also ate at Marlin Monroe's (on the property) twice. We'd stayed here several years ago and there were upgrades, including a huge TV. Everything worked and the place is well kept. The complex maintenance man also helped get my car cranked when I awoke to a dead battery one morning! Having an elevator and luggage carts is so nice when you're loading/unloading luggage; I can't carry bags up several flights of stairs anymore, so be sure any condos you're considering have one if you need it like I do. Missy, we'll be back!

Wonderful for the beachgoer
Wonderful for the beachgoer
Tybee is a great beach vacation and this property gets you so close to the beach. Parking on Tybee is tight, so it is amazing to be able to walk to the beach without crossing any street intersections. Given the scarcity of public parking lots around this property, the beach did not get that crowded compared to other parts of the beach closer to the pier. Plus there are two pools and a kiddie pool. A restaurant on the grounds and a few others in walking distance. If you have kids, especially young kids, this is a perfect property for you. Top floor, so you don't have people keeping you up late because of stomping. I would definitely go back and would even be willing to buy the property from the owner.

First time at Tybee
First time at Tybee
Our first time on Tybee and we loved it! The Condo was great. Everything was clean and the beds were very comfortable! I would love to go back. We loved the property with the pools, cafe, beach and location. The Owner was very helpful with all questions we had. We drove into Savannah 2 days and enjoyed the city! We ate at several restaurants on Tybee. One of my favorites was Coco's.

Was a Great Condo for a getaway at Tybee, and very reasonably priced! Pools & bar/restaurant on site, and shop across the street, were also great and very convenient...car never had to leave the parking garage! Very kid friendly, as I traveled with a 1, 3, & 5 year old and they loved it. Would definitly use this condo again in the future as working with Missy was a Great Experience!

This condo is very nice. The location of the elevator to the front door is amazing for those who can't walk far. We love staying at the Beach Side Colony and have done so for the past 6 years, however after this year, I don't think I will be back due to our experience in the condo. Half way into our trip, we came back to a horrible smell in the condo. We aired it out and then the smell came back. The smell was like someone was burning tuna on a rubber pan. It was a sickening smell. I called the owners to let them know what was going on with the unit. They stated they were trying to get someone to come evaluate this issue. We saw a repairman on the balcony who told us the owner had called, but never returned his call after he called her back and he could not come in to fix the issue until he got the approval from her. In the mean time the entire refrigerator stopped working. I informed the owner of this issue. While I understand that the owners were 4 hours away, I was told that they were going to have to buy another refrigerator, but it would not be delivered until Saturday, which was 3 days away, the day we were to leave. They apologized for the "inconvenience", but there was nothing they could do. Still I understood at this point....somewhat...however when I asked if there was going to be reimbursement for this inconvenience, I was told, we'll send you a check for $100. Well first off, one hundred dollars doesn't come close to making up for loss of food, time, gas, stress, and inconvenience that I had. That would not even come close. We also had to go off the island to buy coolers to attempt to keep some of the stuff cool that we had, and then had to keep buying ice for days. We spent much more money having to go out to eat, as we were afraid to eat lunch meat that had sit in coolers with melting ice. We could not bring left overs back with us when we did go out, and I spent a fortune in ice cream as it cost us $21.00 for the three of us for a one time trip for ice cream at the Sugar Shack. Not only that, but I had to clean all the water out of the freezer that collected after it died. Another issue was the dryer, don't dry anything light colored as it left black streaks on our clothes and we ended up having to hang all of those clothes up. I don't know about some, but I go on vacation to relax, not do more work and stress. The biggest kicker is that the owners never did send me the $100....no surprise there!!

Owner response: I am really sorry that you had a bad experience. The events that took place that week were not conveyed to me that way during your stay and I thought we had done everything possible to remedy the situation. My husband and I got on the computer immediately after you called on Wednesday, July 3 and ordered a new stainless steal refrigerator. The earliest delivery available was Sat am, which is when it was installed. Once the refrigerator was installed we did find out then that is wasn't actually the refrigerator that was the issue, but the outlet. So we then had and electrician come in from Savannah that afternoon and replace the outlet. So a new refrigerator and a new outlet were put in on Sat, July 6. When I spoke with your husband on Wednesday while everything was going on he told me that is was no problem and that you mainly just had drinks in the fridge and could just use coolers for that. He also said you had friends staying in the complex so had their fridge if necessary. Because it was the Wednesday of July 4th week, we were doing the best we could with access to help and delivery options. I don't really know what more we could have done. We purchased a brand new Stainless Steal refrigerator basically on the spot! If $$ in the form of some refund was the main issue then a simple phone call would have taken care of that. You texted me to see what kind of refund I would give you. When I replied with the $100 I never heard a word back until this review was posted. I left town the following week(July 8) and just returned 4 days ago. It would be typical to wait to send the $100 at the end of the month, when I go through all my security deposits and rentals for the month. There is no reason I would not have sent the check. And as I said, if that was not a sufficient amount I would have fully expected you would call or email me. Again, I am sorry you had a bad experience. Our condo rents every week in the summer, and I get all great reviews from our renters both on the condition of the condo and on how easy we are to deal with. I have sent you an email to ask what type of refund you would like, and hope we are able to make you happy. Yours Truly, Missy
We stayed at this condo for 3 nights. You never know what your going to get when you book a condo from just seeing pictures on the internet. This condo is just like the pictures show. It was very clean, had a lot of room and we loved everything about it. The only thing is that it has a very tight parking area. If you are in a car or small SUV it will be perfect. I drive a Tahoe and it was a tight squeeze. (I would still stay in this condo again) If you get a chance to stay here, you will not be sorry. The beach access is only a few 100 yards away and they have a very nice pool area. We were here during Pirate Fest weekend and were able to see the pirade with out all the crowds around us. Also, if you have kids there is a play park across the road that is awesome.

The master bed room sheets Need to be replaced. They are worn out and I had to buy new ones for the remainder of our stay. The towels were soured and dishes were dirty.. There were instruction to how the condo should be left. Other than those, we had a great time. The porch was the highlight of the trip for our children( all under 6). Parking was tight, but I was able to park very close on one side and everyone could get out with ease on one side of the suburban. Just a few set backs but overall a good stay. Thank you.

Owner response: I am sorry you felt the linens were insufficient. We were just there a few week ago and replaced all the washcloths. The sheets and towels all appeared in fine condition, so I am surprised you felt that way. We will certainly look into this and replace them if necessary. We typically replace all linens at the end of the summer season. Other than that, I am glad you enjoyed your stay.
You always take a gamble when you book condos based off pictures....but this bet paid off! The condo was perfect! We had plenty of room, a view of the ocean (small but on Tybee it is sometimes hard to find), good furniture, very easy to acess the beach, great complex and CLEAN. We had a wonderful time and I will definitely be booking here again.

We stayed at this condo with our five year old son and found it to be large and well equipped for our stay. It has a lovely large deck where you can eat your dinner and see the ocean. You are about 30 steps from the sand - the property is ocean front but there is a building in front of the building with this condo. You can easily see the ocean from the corner of the deck where you will find the dinner table. The furnishings are tasteful and not overly beachy, which some beach condos have a tendency to be. The condo was clean and comfortable. The only issue we had was with the master bathroom toilet because it wobbled - a lot. This was slightly scary for me in the middle of the night since I am pregnant and have to use it a lot in the dark!! We informed the owner and I am sure that she will take care of it.

Owner response: Thank you for your review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay. The toilet issue is being resolved with the installation of a new toilet this week. I apologize for the inconvenience of that during your visit and appreciate you letting us know about it!
