This home is part of a large compound that overlooks picturesque Oyster Pond; the water views are spectacular. You are steps away from the town beach and a 60 second walk to Chatham town center where you can enjoy great shopping and dining. Our home is located in a residential area surrounded by 2mil+ homes. If you are lucky you might spot Harry Conick Jr., he has a home right around the corner from us on Oyster Pond. He has a big boat and loves to fish. I'm sure you could guess that coming from New Orleans.
Don't miss the Friday night band concert on the green or if baseball is your game catch the Chatham A's at their home field, just a stroll away. Enjoy sitting on the flagstone patio or the beautiful screened in porch overlooking beautiful Oyster Pond and enjoy the breath taking sunsets!
The Sea Captains house has 5 bedrooms, 2 on the first floor and 3 on the second floor. There are two full baths on the first floor and 1 1/2 bathes on the second floor. A full laundry room that leads out to an outside shower. The house easily sleeps 9. The kitchen has a side dining area for 10. The living areas are wonderful for entertaining. The original living area with a fireplace and big screen HDTV is so relaxing with wonderful water views. The second living space is wonderful for entertaining. A big open floor plan while preserving all the characteristics of a 1801 antique home while having all the appreciated comforts of a house today. A second fireplace sets the tone for a fabulous family retreat with a second small kitchen/bar serving all your entertaining needs. This new bar encompasses all the features of a small kitchen, refrig.,dishwasher,full oven and cook top. The granite island is the feature of the room. This room extents into a section for prime time HDTV viewing. And again all your entertaining needs are right at your fingertips overlooking beautiful water views of Oyster Pond/Harbor. Enjoy your morning coffee, afternoon cocktail or evening sunset dinner on the screened in porch, again overlooking wonderful water views. The living space has two sleep sofas for overflow quests. For outside dining either enjoy the patio off the kitchen or the screened in porch off the living area. Great for a family that wants to spread out or be together.
This wonderful Antique Federal Colonial is currently undergoing extensive renovations to expose it's true beauty of the period . The restoration has revealed some wonderful surprises; a hidden fireplace on the first floor with wonderful mahogany floors. These floors have been covered with wall to wall carpeting til this day. The design is unique, as the flooring is laid on the diagonal, yet another wonderful surprise we discovered. The wide board floors on the second floor speak volumes to the area of this home, if only floors those could talk. Along with these renovations will be a new bath on the second floor, new windows and totally updated living space. As described the new first floor plan is open and comfortable and all focused on the beautiful views from the property. The house is fully air conditioned 80% via central air and the balance with window units.

FIRST FLOOR:
Large entertainment area with HDTV, fire place and bar/small kitchen with all appliances and granite island. A second living space with a HDTV and fireplace. This section is all newly renovated with exposed wood beams original to the house. All the floors newly refinished. Two bedrooms, one queen, one twin. Two full bathes, kitchen, dining area and large laundry, outside shower. For outside dining there is a patio or a screened in porch. All with wonderful water views of Oyster Pond.
SECOND FLOOR:
Three bedrooms, two queen size and one with two twins, all new interior construction. One brand new full bath and one "Jack and Jill" powder room which is between one of the queen bedrooms and the bedroom with two twins. Again all with great water views. The floors are all newly refinished old (1801)wide pine floors.
This home expresses the integrity of the early 1800s while enjoying the conveniences and comforts of the 21st century.
