Owner's Profile

Owner Description

Year Purchased: 2005

Longtime Central Coast residents, we found this amazing piece of property 5 years ago and have been transforming it for the enjoyment of ourselves and our guests! We are so happy with the responses we have gotten from our Libretto Cottage guests, we decided to move forward with the addition of another formerly month to month rental, our vintage cabin, one of the original structures on the property, see VRBO# 280447
David is a massage therapist specializing in Myofascial Release a specialized hands on therapy. We offer health retreats with Intensive MFR treatment programs, fasting, live food preparation classes and Zero Point Process sessions. Vanessa is a professional artist and decorative painter who offers creativity training, art instruction both individual and group session. Her studio is open and she has many works of fine art both originals and prints available for sale. Additionally she works with the Zero Point Process which is a perfect tool for self improvement that is simple and easy to learn.

Why the Owner Chose San Luis Obispo

Just before we found this property, David and I were on vacation. During the trip we discussed our upcoming move from Los Osos to San Luis Obispo. We had it in our minds that we wanted a piece of property that was large enough to afford us plenty of privacy, yet close to town as we are both still working and did not want to be far away from the conveniences of town. We also wanted a piece of property that would give us the opportunity to share our locale with others via a vacation rental or B&B. Literally the day we arrive back from vacation our realtor called us saying "You've just got to see this property, it's perfect for you!". It was and we fell in love with it! We have been updating, remodeling and relandscaping ever since. It's our labor of love and we enjoy sharing it with others

The Unique Benefits of this Cottage

We have all the peace and quite of country living and yet we're close to town. It's just 5 minutes to the nearest Trader Joes and any other shopping you could want to do. A brief 10 minute drive puts you in either the beach communities of Grover Beach, Oceano, Pismo Beach, or Shell Beach. San Luis Obispo, or Old Town Arroyo Grande are also just minutes away. There are no street lights and on clear night the stars will dazzle you, especially if you live in the city where it's easy to forget how amazing the starry heavens are. Wildlife abounds, you'll see deer, fox, quail, the occasional bobcat, a variety of hawks, falcons and our ever present owls. The location is quite, private and relaxing.

    • The pictures don't do complete justice to just how nice this cottage really is. Very well appointed with a 'cooks kitchen' (including condiments & spices, should you forget them, as we did), a HUGE TV & almost every satellite station you can think of. Perfect location, as well. You can watch horses trotting around a gated field as you wash dishes and be greeted by deer in the back yard. Still, you are just a few miles away from a major grocery store, movie theater and big box convenience store, not to mention the historic village of Arroyo Grande. We will definitely be back! It's no wonder the reservation calendar fills quickly - priced right & WELL worth every penny!

    • We fell in love with this place and San Luis Obispo the minute we saw this property. It was confortable, cool and pleasant, beautifully secluded yet only minutes from town and the vineyards. It is a well appointed cottage that has a very useable kitchen and plenty of ammenities. I highly recomment it and we will be back.

    • We had great communications with the owner prior to our visit and were VERY happy with our stay. It is a perfect location about halfway between Pismo Beach for all the sun/surf you can handle and downtown SLO for shopping and cute dining. Perfect for a getaway to recharge the batteries. Very clean and really did have everything you could have needed. Would revisit as soon as our calendar allowed.

    • An absolutely perfect cottage nestled in the hills just south of San Luis Obispo. It was a great place for an extended weekend getaway with my fiancee. The place is very well maintained, with a cozy bed, a futon in the living room, TV with satellite, board games and books, and a kitchen with everything you need to make your own food. Beautiful outdoor patio has a table and chairs for eating and relaxing outside. The location is so convenient, just 10 minutes drive to SLO, Arroyo Grande, Pismo Beach, or the local wineries (and there are many).

    • Coming to San Luis Obispo for our daughter's graduation from Cal Poly, we needed a place where our family with grandchildren could all rest, relax & feel comfortable. This was the perfect setting, this beautiful cottage nestled in the trees, private and peaceful. With all the amenities; well stocked kitchen, bb-q, patio, it was a wonderful stay and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an enjoyable, fun or romantic vacation.
