Amazing house and location

We have been vacationing at the OBX for the past 4 years and we have had a different house every year. But our search is over! We had an amazing vacation at the Beachcomber this summer. The house had plenty of space for 6 adults and 9 kids. We ate dinners outside on the deck and the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. One of the best things for us was the beach access. We all have young kids and we were used to going up and over the dunes. But the beach access near Beachcomber was just a boardwalk that emptied out onto the beach. We had to evacuate the house due to Hurricane Irene but Lynn was in constant contact with us about the evacuation. And our refund check for the days we missed was promptly sent out. We can't wait to stay here again.

My wife and I, our two sons, their wives and our five grandchildren just spent a wonderful week at Beachcomber. Everything was just perfect! The house is beautiful, immaculate and as well equipped as you could possibly hope for. The kitchen and dining room easily accommodated all eleven of us. The pool is large with plenty of chairs and tables surrounding it to allow for eating or just relaxing. Everything you need for the nearby beach is provided-you don't need to bring a thIng. Lynn is great to work with and is always available to answer any questions that might arise. All in all, just a great experience. We can't wait to come back.

We just returned from our week at the "Beachcomber" and wanted to confirm the excellent reviews from other vacationers. The house was in beautiful condition when we arrived, the owners had even had the carpeting on the stairs cleaned prior to our arrival. The bedrooms were beautifully decorated with nice towels provided for each room. The pool area was the best we've ever experienced in a rental. The pool was large and tiled (not a drop in preform pool) with nice walk in steps on one end. There were two tables with umbrellas and several chaise lounges with cushions in the pool area. The hot tub was located on the pool deck and was large enough for 5-6. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed and more and we loved having the very large table that seated 12. Another wonderful surprise was the large table outside on the upper deck that also sat 10-12. We enjoyed watching the fireworks from there one night and could also see the Currituck Lighthouse. The beach was not a far walk and having the two carts was such a wonderful amenity so we didn't have to drive all the boogie boards/skim boards down every day. Not having to bring beach chairs and sand toys from home made a huge difference as well. The kids enjoyed walking or biking down to the little ice cream shop on rt. 12 at night. Of course the fact that we had wonderful weather that week didn't hurt to make our vacation perfect but staying in the Beachcomber certainly played a huge role in it as well! We would recommend it to anyone and certainly will consider staying there again!

This was our first time visiting the Outer Banks, and we were very impressed by the Beachcomber!This house is very true to the description. The neighborhood the house is located in is very quiet and we felt very safe and comfortable. Everything in the house looked just like, if not better than the pictures. The house was super clean and neat when we arrived, and the owners were great! We stayed in the house with three other families and there were a total of eight kids. We did go to the beach, but we had even more fun playing in the game room, riding bikes around the neighborhood, playing basketball, and hanging out by the pool. The walk to the beach was a little longer than we anticipated, but it was by no means unbearable. We rode our bikes there most days and kept them in the bike racks conveniently located at the beach entrance. Overall, we felt very much at home and didn't even have to leave the house to have an amazing vacation! I would definitley recommend this house!!!!!

Fifteen of us (from ages 68 to 4) enjoyed a lovely week at the Beachcomber. The house is beautifully maintained, very clean, and with a very well stocked kitchen. The home is even more beautiful than it looks in the pictures! We rent homes every year for a family reunion vacation and this has been one of the best! It was especially nice to have beach toys and bicycles available!

We rented this property for a week in july for the purpose of a family reunion. All 13 of us were in total agreement that we could not have chosen a better property for our affair. The property was in immaculate condition.It was immediately evident that the owners take great pride in the care of the property. The common rooms are large and airy with picture windows facing in all directions. The swimming pool was a a gem and lot larger than what we commonly would associate with shore properties and fast became a focus for our evening family activities. The kitchen is more then adequately supplied making the preparation of family meals simple.

We just recently returned from our first stay at Beachcomber. As stated in previous reviews, the owners Lynn and Bill are wonderful to work with. Before we even arrived at the house, we knew we had made the right decision because of the wonderful communication with the owners. They answered all of our questions in a timely manner. Once we arrived at the home, we were not dissappointed. The home was immaculately clean. And many extras were provided such as plenty of beach chairs, a beach cart, beach toys, small boogie boards, skim board, and 2 bikes. The kitchen was well equipped with large steamer pots, pans, plenty of cups, plates, and silverware, 2 coffee makers, baking accessories, metal skewers for the grill, and utensils for eating seafood. The kitchen sink is equipped with bottled water on a tap; so no need to buy purified water. There is also a gas grill with an extra propane tank, so you won't run out of fuel in the middle of grilling. It is an easy walk to the beach, especially with the use of the beach cart. We had 5 small children in our group, 3 of which were 2 and under, and had no problem with the walk to the beach. There are no stairs to traverse from the beach access to the beach, which makes it very easy to pull the beach cart directly out onto the beach. It is any easy 3 - 5 minute drive to the grocery store and Timbuck II shopping area. You won't regret your decision to stay here! Thanks to Lynn and Bill for a wonderful place to stay! We look forward to staying at Beachcomber again!

We just returned from our 2nd year at the Beachcomber. We love this house, location and everything the area has to offer. The owners, Bill and Lynn are great to work with. This house is very clean, well maintained, decorated beautifully and the kitchen has everything you need. We love the boys and girls bunk rooms and the lower level tv room and game table. The kids have there own space to play. We also spent many hours in the large pool and hot tub in the back yard. Lots of extras too. Beach chairs, 2 beach carts, 2 bikes, sand toys, lots of patio furniture, hammock, porch swing, Wifi, DVR at family Tv and Tv, VCR's in each bedroom and linens and towels provided. Grocery store and shopping are just minutes away. We had one fantastic vaction at the Beachcomber and would highly recommend it to anyone. Lots of great family memories were made. Thank you Bill and Lynn.

My extended family and I just got back from a week's stay at the Beachcomber and we can't say enough about the qualitiy of the house or the hospitality of the owner, Lynn. When we arrived at the Beachcomber, we were impressed by the cleanliness and quality of the home. To my delight, the kitchen was stocked with all of the utensils and appliances that we needed for the week including plenty of cups, plates, silverware, two coffeemakers, a blender, a garlic press, pots and pans, tupperware for leftovers, etc. We did a lot of cooking during the week and were never without something that we needed. Also, the location of the house is perfect. It is about two blocks from the beach and a short walk or bike ride to the Wild Horse Museum, lighthouse and park. We rented bikes in the Corolla Light Shopping Center and then rode them back to the beachhouse. The Food Lion grocery store is a 5-10 minute drive away, as is the Timbuck II Shopping Center which is a perfect "rainy day" excursion. A big thanks to Lynn for making our stay so enjoyable.It was a pleasure working with her throughout the entire process. If you're thinking about booking the Beachcomber - do it. It's the best vacation decision that my family ever made.

We've stayed at Beachcomber for the past two years. The house exceeded our expectations the first year so we returned again this year. The house is lovely - very clean, comfortable, and well appointed. All the furniture is just as it shows in the pictures. The pool was clean and well maintained. The kitchen was well stocked with all of the equipment you might need. Best of all, the house is an easy walk to the beach - even with small children. There was a mandatory hurricane evacuation put in place this year but the owners promptly refunded our money for the lost vacation days. We're planning on going back next year.

This was our first family vacation for years and we could not had picked a better place to stay. The house was absolutely beautiful with plenty of room for everyone to spread out and enjoy. There were 11 of us 5 adults and 6 children. Everything that the owners have listed is true and doesn't do justice to the house. You could not ask for anything more. The pool was just wondeful and enjoyed each day. The beach was close which we all enjoyed going to. I don't believe we could have asked for anything more to be there. Lynn and Bill have done a wonderful job to make you feel welcome and I would recommend to anyone to stay there. There was pleny to do and see at Corolla.

Our group of 13 (6 adults and 7 teenagers) just returned from this property. This house has a great lay-out with many lovely amenities. It is within easy walking distance to the beach and the pool is absolutely wonderful. There is plenty of seating for large groups (both inside and out). I especially enjoyed the outside deck facing the ocean during the late afternoons. We cooked most nights and found the kitchen easy to use and everything was handy. There are two bikes, plenty of chairs, a rolling cart for carrying things to the beach, a beach umbrella, and miscellaneous toys. We were within walking and easy driving distance to the lighthouse. We enjoyed a concert at the park one evening. We were one mile from access to the beach where the horses can be found. We took our four wheel drive up there to fish. Very convenient. The owner, Lynn, could not have been more accommodating. She is personally involved in all aspects of the rental and her customer service is great. Her personal touches show throughout the house. This is a fabulous place and we really enjoyed our stay.

This was our first year staying in the Beachcomber and we absolutely loved it. The location was wonderful, in the quiet, quaint area of Corolla. The beach was a 5 minute walk and the best part was that the beach access had no stairs! Made pulling the great beach cart provided with the house right down to our spot on the beach so easy. The house has two bikes which we loved using - we even decided to rent more bikes to use for our group because of the great walking/bike path right at the end of the street which we took down to the Corolla Light shopping center several evenings for ice cream. The house itself was beautiful, meticulously clean and very roomy. The kitchen had everything we needed - it even had two coffee makers, which worked so well for our group (Grandpa only drinks decaf!). We loved the hammock and porch swing and spending time on the plentiful seating on the top deck with ocean views. The pool in this house is wonderful and much larger than many other rentals. The owner was great to work with and was very accommodating. We had a wonderful week in this house and hope to return next year!

Our family of 10 stayed here July 10th-17th. We had such a wonderful time. The home is beautiful and if it is possible the pictures don't do it justice..yes, it is more beautiful than the pics! They have made every effort to make your stay so memorable and comfortable. From my first contact with the owner I felt that I had a new friend, always answering my questions about what to pack etc. They thought of every detail to make our visit perfect, from the beautiful dishes to the wonderful pool, beach chairs and bikes.The home decor makes you never want to leave. It was a most memorable week and we hope to be back next year and bringing more family with us. We were fortunate enough to have 4 wheel drives with us and that allowed us to use the 4x4 beach where we saw wild horses and dolphins! We can't say enough about this home.

We needed a place for three families to gather for a reunion and 80th birthday celebration for gramma. I searched all up and down the OBX and kept coming back to this one because it just seemed to offer everything we needed. Our ages ranged from 8 to 80 with four teen/20 somethings in the mix. This beautiful home accomodated us all with room to spare. I'll leave it to others to sing the praises of the area, which is awsome, but I would certainly echo what the above renters have said about the owners. Bill and Lynn were wonderful to work with, prompt, friendly, accomodating of our needs and helpful in every respect. Couldn't recommend this home highly enough!

This year we stayed at Beachcomber and it was so much more than we expected!! The home is absolutely beautiful with plenty of room for everyone to spread out and everything meticulously clean. The house has everything you need for a great vacation including a wonderful pool , hot tub, beach toys, beach chairs and a cart for the beach. The beach is just a short 5 minute walk. The ocean views from inside the house and outside on the decks adds to the beach beauty. The owners were kind, friendly, and very accomodating. We look forward to a return trip!

This was our first trip the the OBX, and we were so happy with this location. We loved this beach house and the Corolla area. Well maintained home, beautiful furnishings, super clean and very spacious. Lots of room for the kids to spread out. (Loved the kids bunkrooms). Awesome large pool with pool toys, hot tub and lots of outdoor seating. Lots of decking with outside staircase to all levels. All king and queen bedrooms had slidding doors out to decking. 5 minute walk to the beautiful beach with lots of shells. Lots of extras provided for you. Top quality bed sheets and towel sets, gas BBQ grill, Wifi, beach chairs, beach cart, boogie boards, beach toys, 2 bikes & tv's in every bedroom. The kitchen is so well equipped, we didn't need anything. Lots of items just for the kids too. Fooseball, playstation 2, board games, videos and basketball net in the driveway. Don't forget to bring your bikes. Lots of places to ride. New bike path at the end of Coral Lane. Short ride to the 4x4 beach to see the horses. Ride to the Whalehead park and see the lighthouse and historic village or crab/fish of the pier. In this same park is also a nature center and nature hikes too. Across from the park is a shopping complex with clothing shops, pizza, ice cream, bakery, jeep rentals and restaurants. All you need at your fingertips. There is a Food Lion and large shopping complex about 5 miles down the road. The owners are great to work with, very friendly and quick to respond to your e-mail or phone call. They went above and beyond to make sure our vacation was great. We made great family memories at this beach house and will be back for sure.

This was our second year in this house and we keep coming back for a reason. The house is beautiful - but you don't feel like you can't sit down and make yourself at home. Very kid friendly - high chair, crib, etc. for inside. Lots of great pool and beach toys (as well as beach chairs) for outside! Not on the beach, but the beach is a short walk away and the house has a beach cart for hauling all your stuff. The kitchen has everything you would need for cooking. The first year we needlessly brought blender, roasting pan, etc. which the house already had. Owners were great and easy to get in touch with, quick to respond. Lots of attractions and restaurants within a few miles from the house. Have recommended this house to friends and will continue to rent this house for as long as we take our vacations in OBX. We feel like this is our home away from home at the beach!

This home was perfect for our family vacation! Immaculately clean, maintained and cared for with beautiful furnishings and decor. Linens and towels were far superior to most other homes we have stayed in. Short walk in a wonderful neighborhood to a wide beach. Large pool compared to most rental properties! The home's location in Ocean Hill is just a 2 minute drive to the 4x4 beaches and a short walk or bicycle ride to local shops, restaurants, and grocery stores. Many things to see and do at your fingertips! You can even sit right on the deck of the home and see the Currituck Beach Lighthouse! The owners were kind, helpful and easy to deal with. They went above and beyond to ensure a perfect stay in their home. I would highly recommend this home to any family looking for the perfect place to call home for a wonderful vacation! We will be back!
