JUST DO IT! As the owner I will assist in coordinating your travel to this incredible island in the ARCTIC in Northern Norway. It is a once in a lifetime experience for most people but those who have visited are known to return year after year.
This precious island offers incredible nature as its biggest asset. With it also comes amazing deep sea fishing which is, according to sport fishing authorities, some of the best fishing in the world. And it is. Soroya Island was featured in SPORT FISHING MAGAZINE/Florida for sport fishing and has been featured in several other sport fishing publications. You can hire a boat, with or without a guide, in the quaint fishing village of Sorvaer - which is a short walk away - to fish COD and HALIBUT. This incredible fishing haven has been a well kept secret in Europe with returning visitors every year from Sweden and Germany. Now you have a chance to experience it yourself.
For us berry pickers. Special to this location are "cloud berries" which are delicious and loaded with natural antioxidants. Blueberries abound. No natural preditors so you are safe to hike the entire island. You may encounter reindeer -- but they are friendly and their large tin bells let you know the herd is passing. Bring a camera!
In the summer hike the island all day and/or night as the sun never sets -- and take in the most beautiful vistas you will ever experience. In the fall & winter experience the "Polar Nights" where the sun gradually disappears from the horizon and begins to reappear in January. The twighlight is magnificent and no words can capture the beauty. In the fall& winter on a clear night you will see the Northern Lights dance in the sky like magic.
Getting to the island is NOT difficult -- in fact it is part of the adventure! It is a holiday you will never forget.
