My husband, 3 dogs and I enjoyed a wonderful vacation here. Abby, one of the homeowners, was so easy to work with and very accommodating. The home came with everything we needed and was well maintained. The neighborhhood was secluded and nicely cared for and the neighbors were very nice which made our vacation more comfortable. The views of the ocean/bay were spectactular and the beach, only a short walk from the home, was clean and private. We are avid birders and noted so many beautiful species around the property as well as at the conveniently close beaches, sanctuary and parks. This home is a great choice for vacationing. We look forward to our next get-a-way here! Thanks Abby!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Abby, your beach house is as you call it...a TOTALLY awesome beach house. Thank you for sharing this unique find. My family stayed here to celebrate my Mom's 84th birthday. It was perfect!! We could even bring our beloved basset hound, Daisee. The house is very open, welcoming, and very relaxing. We spent many hours sitting by the wonderful windows and decks on the so very confortable chairs enjoying the wonderful view of the bay. The solitude of the location of the house is perfect. We enjoyed many walks on the beach looking for shells and beach glass. We loved having dinner at the house and enjoying the enclosed dining deck. Thank you for the wonderful "goodie" bag for Daisee and all the local information on dining to shopping along with your special, handwritten note. We spent time in Lewes and Rehobeth as well as driving around the Wildlife preserve and the local area. Your house was an amazing find which was not only a quiet beach which was dog friendly but even more a gracious and peaceful home that welcomed my darling furry family member. The private beach was a wonderful experience for Daisee who could run and run without a leash. She was in heaven! Thank you for your excellent attention and care you have displayed in the entire rental and vacation experience. We definitely felt like we were home! We look forward to staying with you again very soon. Our best regards....Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Each morning I was out the door with the poochies for a walk on the beach. Solitude, sand crabs, and sea gulls were our companions until the weekend visitors trickled in on Friday. Chester, Dash and I found the water hose at the base of the stairs to be perfect for a quick rinse off of all things beach related. My husband, who is from up-state NY-not fond of heat, humidity and sand, spent countless hours reading, writing, meditating and drawing, first on the upstairs deck with the ultra comfortable lounge chairs-did I mention that he also napped ?!! When the temps rose later in the week, I found him in the parlor with jazz and a gin and tonic! The view form the desk in the hot tub room provided inspiration for his drawing. One evening, after I made a quick run into Lewes Fish Market, we cooked and grilled up an outstanding, fresh, seafood feast-crab legs, sword fish and oysters. We had a great meal late our first night at Irish Eyes in Milton. With the variety of restaurants between Milton and Rehoboth we were more than satisfied! I was delighted to see the glossy red and sky blue bikes we rented from Meryl, at Lewes Cycle Sport neatly lined up, waiting to share the sunset with us over Prime hook Wildlife Preserve. Meandering through the quiet, eclectic neighborhood that runs for only a few miles along the Bay to the public beach area at the far end, sea breezes and surrounded by natural beauty-lovely! Abby, it is evident that you and the Nemett's have put much careful and thoughtful planning into ones experience at Awesome Beach Dream. From the welcome bag with a personal note, helpful guide books and doggie toys, to the on call handy man-if needed, to the positioning of the "I will never get up from this spot" sofa and chaise, to my personal favorite-the outdoor shower and dressing room. The list continues with the renters shed for beach chairs and such, like new washer and dryer on the bath and bed room level, complimentary shower gel and more tissues than we could use in a year!!! It is rare to find not only a quiet beach which is dog friendly and even more rare a gracious and peaceful home on it that welcomes our furry family members. It has been refreshing to be gifted with the excellent caliber of attention and care you have displayed in the entire rental and vacation experience. You make your guests feel like family!!! Until we visit again...heartfelt thanks and love.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

My husband and I (with our dogs) stayed here for a long peaceful weekend. We were looking for a place to relax and get away from the hustle of daily life. This house fit this bill perfectly. The views were amazing, Abby was great to work with, and the house was extremely comfortable. Loved walking on the beach daily (the dogs loved running in the water) without seeing more than a couple people at most. I would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting a secluded (yet close to everything) and private vacation. I would come back here anytime. Thank you Abby for all your help.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

It was all it’s name says! We loved the time we spent at your dream house. It was a dream come true for all of us to be together on the beach in such a wonderful home. The walking, shell collecting (many conch shells) and nature observing were phenomenal!! We saw many horseshoe crabs traveling about along with a stingray that had washed up on shore. The weather was wonderful too! We took many, many walks on the beautiful beach that extended for miles. The few people we met on our adventures on the shore were very friendly! While enjoying morning coffee on the screened porch you can view the water and listened to the waves hit the shore. What could be more relaxing. A couple of us visited the Nassau Valley Winery where the owner asked how we found the treasured secret of Broadkill Beach. It was this site. We were so relaxed we actually forgot the day and date; a sign of an excellent vacation! Others enjoyed golf and shopping that can be found very close by yet it seemed a world away from peacefulness of the house. We drove into the Prime Hook Preserve and hope to hike it next time. We did walk from Beach Plum Preserve at the end of South Bay Shore Drive to the house about 3.25 miles along the beach. We cooked most meals at the house. However, my son-in-law found the best reuben at Irish Eyes in Milton. As my daughter and he traveled home after vacation they stopped at the Vintage Cafe in Milton for breakfast and said it was outstanding! Abby quickly got back to us when we were interested in renting. She readily responded to any questions we had prior to our arrival and once we arrived. I am confident anyone that stays at this property will want to return. What you see in the photos is what you will find upon arrival. I can’t thank Abby & her family enough for allowing us to share their treasure with our family including four legged members.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Thanks Mary and Tom for a wonderful review. We're so glad you loved your stay and shared many of the wonderful treasures that people get to experience by staying at our beach house. Isn't it amazing how few people there on the beach and whenever we meet someone they're always so nice, it's true. It is a blessings that we continue to be so grateful to own and to share with others. We're so glad you found us. We look forward to your return when you can also explore the Prime Hook Wildlife Refuge in our backyard. It is truly a nature's paradise. Thanks for your review, and for expressing so beautifully the wonderful aspects of our little piece of heaven. Warmly, Abby, Barry and Diane

Stayed with a few friends and two dogs over New Years Eve weekend. We had an amazing time. Loved the hot tub and the no-leash-law on the beach. The dogs enjoyed every second of running up & down the beach, chasing the ocean waves. The kitchen was big and met all of our cooking needs. The king-sized beds were comfy. The balconies' views were amazing and we loved the fire place. The house was clean and quiet -- on the end of the street, except for the 5am invasion of what we think were seagulls squawking away at the New Year. :) We can't wait to come back!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

I just wanted to share with everyone what an amazing time my husband and I, along with our dachshund, had this past weekend at this beautiful property... The retreat at the beach was just what we needed - it was a wonderful place to sit back, relax, and spend time together. My husband and I definitely did a lot of all 3 but Oscar (the dachshund) missed out on the sitting back and relaxing part! He was up and down the beach - crunching the horseshoe crab shells, digging in the sand, barking, swimming, running from the waves, chasing the birds, going for walks with us - he never stopped! Well, that's not entirely true...he wore himself out on the beach so much on Saturday and Sunday, we had to carry him up the steps to the house and he promptly curled up and took a well-deserved nap each day. You would never have guessed he was the same dog in the house as he was out on the beach! Thank you so very much for making the decision to rent your property so others can take advantage of the beauty and peacefulness found in and around your home! We fell in love with it - how clean and comfortable it was, how it had everything we needed & everything we could have wanted - especially the convenience of the outdoor shower (with hot water!), the well-stocked kitchen, the screened-in porch off the dining room where we ate every meal, the amazing views from the upstairs hot tub, just to name a few - how it afforded us peace and quiet and beautiful views, how it was just "close" enough to Lewes & Rehoboth without being too far away...it was wonderful. Abby provided a great experience from start to finish - even despite catching her during the craziness of her book launch and celebration! She was wonderful to work with and her "No Worries" attitude, despite everything she had going on, was much appreciated! Everything was great and we especially liked the added touch of the welcome package that contained a bunch of information regarding the attractions and restaurants located nearby. Such a thoughtful touch and it even contained a toy for our dog as well! We definitely consider ourselves future repeat customers :) If you find yourself wanting some yummy, homemade ice cream, head to King's Ice Cream in Milton or Lewes - a really cool old-fashioned ice cream parlor!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+.

Our whole family including the four legged ones had a super time staying at this property. It is so close to everything yet secluded. A short jaunt to the beach or the wildlife center. Milton is a wonderful suprise to go and visit with it's antique shops and brewery. The house is so adabtable and has plenty of nooks and corners for folks to get away and spend quiet time with a book or their thoughts. The view is amazing everywhere. The addition of the outdoor shower and dressing room is a real plus. We had a blast and plan to stay here many more times in the future.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
