Chuck and Nina have done a fantastic job with their renovation of this ground level condo in the Lahaina Shores complex. It's so spacious, comfortable and beautifully appointed. The location is fantastic as the property is right on the beach in Lahaina. It's within a comfortable walking distance from all the shops and restaurants in the main area of Front Street yet far enough away for quiet enjoyment. On top of all that, Chuck and Nina were an absolute pleasure to deal with in ensuring that our experience was as enjoyable as possible.

This property has great amenities including a great pool, hot tub and close and easy access to the beachfront. Mountain views in front and ocean views in back with a quick few steps to the water. Roomy and and perfectly appointed for a small group of people who want to walk to interesting dining establishments or use the condo grill and kitchen for meals. Clean and comfortable, two nice bathrooms, clean kitchen with necessary appliances, washer and dryer and comfortable beds. Easy access to owners via phone or e-mail if necessary. If we are Hawaii bound again this is where we want to stay. The Hawaii 50 travelers say eight thumbs up! Thanks Nina and Chuck!

We absolutely loved Chuck and Nina's condo! It was clean, nicely decorated and very roomy. Everything we needed was there, from pots and pans to beach chairs and boogie boards. The washer and dryer in the condo was a great convenience, as was having 2 bathrooms. Sunsets from the Lanai were breathtaking, and the ocean at the beach was nice and calm. The pool was a little smaller than what we were used to, but my kids loved it just the same. For us, the best thing about the condo was the location. Right next door to the Lahaina Shores is a general store and a luau (Feast of Lele). Also, we were just a 5 minute walk from Lahaina shops/restaurants, and could walk to different activities available at the pier -- we did the Atlantis submarine and parasailing. If you don't rent a car (which we didn't for the 1st 2 days we were in Maui), there are buses close by which take you to the Cannery Mall or Whaler's Village in a matter of minutes. Overall, renting from Nina and Chuck was a great experience! They were always available for questions, and thankfully the condo was in such great shape that we didn't need to contact them at all during our vacation. We had far better accommodations than we would have had we stayed at a hotel, and for a much more reasonable price. We are definitely coming back!

This is our seventh trip to Maui and our second stay in Chuck and Nina's condo. My husband and I will never stay anywhere else again. The condo is comfortable, has a well-stocked kitchen, two nice bathrooms, and two queen beds in the bedroom. The location of the resort is perfect-numerous restaurants and unique shops, all within walking distance. But what really sets this resort apart from all the others in the area is that the staff and guests are so friendly. We met several couples here last year and we all planned our vacations for the same time this year. As one of the owners told us, " It's like family here", and my husband and I agree. For anyone looking for a great place to stay, Lahaina Shores and Chuck and Nina's condo should be at the top of your list!

"The best experience ever!" Everything positive you've read in the previous reviews is true. There are hardly enough superlatives to describe the beauty of the setting and the comfort and convenience of Chuck and Nina's condo. They've done so many things to make your experience there special. Luxury linens, really sharp knives, lovely flatware, new TVs, free internet and parking.....and the list could go on and on! This unit is so spacious and comfortable and is in an intimate setting that provides you with the best Hawaii has to offer without unwanted glitz and crowds. Although it's within easy walking distance from shopping, activities and your parked car, you can easily imagine that you're on your own remote island, in a luxury "hut," surrounded by the sea, the sunsets, the whales and the swaying palm trees! We've been on Maui many times, sometimes in very upscale resorts, and have to say that you can't have a better experience than you can have in this condo in Lahina Shores! Safeway and Foodland within a mile, restaurants and a general store next door, 4 blocks to all the shops and restaurants in Lahina, gentle surf that won't knock you over, beach toys and chairs; laundry supplies and the basics of a kitchen....salt, pepper, spray oil, plastic wrap....all thoughtfully left by previous tenants. If you'd like to talk to us personally about our stay, Chuck and Nina have our permission to give you our phone number or e-mail address. This is truly a home and we'd return there in a heartbeat!

This place is PERFECT! Steps from the water, great views, recently remodeled kitchen, and all the extras! My wife and I spent a week here for our honeymoon and really enjoyed it. A ground level unit in this resort is the key.. There aren't many available like this one! Will definitely be back. Thanks again Nina!

We loved this place. All of our needs were taken care of during our stay at the condo so we could truly rest. The photos and the description of the condo are unable to capture the beauty and simplicity of this unit. We enjoyed the walk out the back door to the beach, mornings sitting on the patio drinking coffee while the sun rose, listening to the birds singing and the sound of the ocean, using the beach chairs to sit on the beach all day, and strolling through town. We were silenced by the incredible sunsets. The staff at the resort were extremely friendly and very conscientious at keeping the grounds very clean. The shared resort area on the lawn is quiet. We were there both on a holiday weekend and during the week. The weekend days were busier than weekdays with respect to the pool area - still, it wasn't like sharing a large resort area. A grocery store is less than 15 minutes away by car so we were able to have the flexibility of preparing our meals. Chuck and Nina were very responsive to all of our emails and made several helpful suggestions for where to go and what to do. They were also very accomodating to our flight schedule the day we left and let us check out late so we could have almost an entire day. The trip exceeded our expectations and we look forward to our next stay there.

Our new hobby is figuring out a way we can visit Maui and stay in Chuck and Nina's condo at least once a year. We can't say enough about how clean and well stocked the condo was - from beach goodies, to kitchen wares, to guidelines for Maui. Our favorite parts of the day were the early morning walks on the beach when the stars lit up the sky (we were so grateful we could walk outside and be at the beach in 5 minutes), the pallet of colors that filled the sky and lit up the island of Lanai, sitting on the back patio with coffee listening to the water, and the flexibility to never leave because we could have all meals there. The sunsets at the beach were breathtaking. The description of the location and the condo exceeded our expectations and were consistent with the listing given on their website. The resort was kept very clean by staff who were very friendly and very conscientious about their work. We met people from all over the world. We were able to have as much time with people as we did by ourselves given the flexibility of having amenities in the condo. Chuck and Nina provided excellent customer service, were very responsive each time we contacted them, and generously allowed us to check out later to give us a full extra day. We enjoyed preparing meals at the condo (a Safeway is only 10 minutes away by car) and also going into Lahaina for a few meals. Can't wait to return!

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Lahaina Shores with my wife and children (aged 5 and 8). Only a few steps to the beach (yes it is that close) and perfect for meals at night with our young family. Lahaina is a very convenient place to stay as everything in town is in walking distance. Also Lahaina is fairly close to most of the activities you will want to do in Maui. There is a nice Coral reef close to the beach which keeps the water fairly calm (compared to other beaches on the island!). Not the best beach on the island but good fun and close to top class beaches. The advantage for us was that is was a quiet beach for the kids to play. Kids loved the swimming pool too. Chuck and Nina were very helpful with recommendations and ensuring booking the trip was stress free - thanks! I'm sure we'll be back. Thanks Andy

I recently stayed at their great condo with my boyfriend and teenage son! It was like a home away from home. Chuck & Nina were easy to deal with and provided a lot of information about things to do, etc... the place was in a wonderful location. the beach right out front is a very small sand area and sort of disappears with the tide by the afternoon so really only good till about 3 or 4p.. there were a lot of surf schools surfing out front so if you surf, might need to drive elsewhere. Also, sharp reefs... be careful. Really close to town and the condo itself was very nice and accommodating. I would totally recommend it!
Owner response:Thank you for the kind review and we are glad you enjoyed your stay. The owners association recently received permission to remove 20 feet of vegetation on the beach thereby widening the beach at high tide. Our photos show the beach at high tide. Also the surfing area is not in front of our condo but about a quarter of a mile away.

Both the unit and the owners are truly the best! We originally had booked to stay at this unit for only 3 days and then a different place in another city on Maui for 4 days afterword (just to have easier access to the other side of the island.) However, our other VRBO booking cancelled on us (a week before the wedding no less) indicating that there had been an accidental double booking. We called the owners to see what the availability was for this unit for the extra nights, and to our blessing they had the extra 4 nights available. Not only were they helpful and friendly, reassuring us that staying in one place would actually be better, but also gave us a discount for the extra days because they were "between bookings" days!! They were right - it was really nice to have a single place the whole week and not have to deal with luggage or getting to know a new area midway through. The condo was beautiful, front window opens to full ocean view with the island I think of Lanai out a little ways, and often could see a cruise ship anchored just off shore. Steps to the pool, steps to the beach (literally, one gate, a few stairs, then sand and tide), a nifty back exit from the bedroom out to the drive path just across from the parking lot. There's a quaint shopping center right next door with restaurants, basic groceries, and clothes etc. and just a short ways down is the main Lahaina downtown area. If you have a car there's also a really nice full grocery store a couple miles away in a more conventional shopping center. We had a car and drove out to Haleakala twice and it was no trouble at all, took a couple hrs to get to the top but most of that time was getting up the drive on the mountain. Maui Ocean Center is just about 25 minutes away, Airport about 45 I think. Great location. Thanks Nina for saving our honeymoon!!! A & M
Owner response:Nina and I love sharing our second home with vacation travelers to Maui. We always treat our guests as we wiould want to be treated in our travels to other places. It is rewarding to be acknowledged and our efforts appreciated. Thank you for the kind words.

I lived on Maui years ago and know the island well. The location of this unit is the best on the island. Many restaurants and activities are within blocks so the car stayed parked a lot. Front street is almost too short a walk. The ocean is right out the door with just a pool and small lawn in between. Sunsets were amazing from the beach only twenty feet away. The unit itself was spacious and clean with high ceilings giving that extra roomy feel. Not only did I enjoy my stay but I plan many more as this unit has it all.

I woke up every morning at 6am and threw open the floor to ceiling sliding glass doors and just stared and listened to the ocean and felt tremendously happy. I then walked to downtown Lahaina to my favorite coffee shop and returned to the condo via the harbor, sat on the Lanai, whale watched and read the paper. Then what? A stroll on the beach, sun bathing, reading, snorkeling, shopping, sight seeing, taking a drive, relaxing and either dinner out or a pleasant bbq. What a perfect life!! Had a wonderful time, the condo is GREAT just as described with just the most ideal location. It is nice to have the combination of a quite resort and to be able to walk to town for anything or any activity you may need or want. I LOVE the groundfloor unit, no elevators and carrying things up and down to the pool or beach. You simply just walk in and out, and with the ocean right in front of you, you just feel so relaxed and such a part of things. It's hard to explain, you just must try this place. This condo is completely stocked and gorgeous, everything is clean and in like new condition. You just can't beat this unit or location, no wonder people keep coming back. I certainly can't wait until my next trip.

This was the first time that I rented a private condo instead of staying in a hotel and I must admit I was a little apprehensive. My experience could not have been more positive. The condo was very clean and the location directly on the beach made our vacation one we will always remember. The owners, Chuck and Nina, were extremely helpful in giving us ideas the made our time on Maui very unique. I would highly recommend this property. We will definately be returning next year. N.S.
Owner response:Dear N.S. Thank you for the kind words. Nina and I strive to make our guests stay in our condo a lasting memory. We enjoy communicating with our future guests to assist them in locating good restaurants, shopping, golf and sight-seeing suggestions. It is nice to be appreciated! Chuck and Nina

This was my first time renting a condo instead of staying in a hotel and I will admit I was somewhat apprehensive. I was very fortunate to find this place. The setting, right on the beach, was perfect for my families island vacation. The condo was very clean and well appointed but it was the location that made it so special. We also loved the close proximity to Lahaina because we could walk to eat or just enjoy the wide variety of shops. The owners, Chuck and Nina, were very helpful in giving us ideas for dining and suggesting places to visit. It is obvious that they enjoy sharing their knowledge of the area with their guests I would highly recommend their place for a merorable Hawaiian vacation. C.H.

This was my once in a lifetime hawaii vacation. It was what i imagined it would be and more. The condo was very comfortable and beautiful. We were 6 women and we had the time of our life.Four of us slept on the very comfortable queen beds and the other two slept on the fold out couch. It couldn/t have been in a more convenient place. The beach is the back yard and it was within walking distances of hundreds of shops and restaurants.Lahaina has everything. We went parasailing, shopped and ate.The lahaina luau was totally beautiful and fun.You can't miss the luau,,the dancers were so beautiful and the food was great. You also have to take the road to Hana .We paid for a van to take us and the driver was great. He took us to all the waterfalls we wanted,a winery, and a flower farm.We got to swim in these beautiful ponds that had a waterfall. The mountains we rode through were breathtaking. The beach behind the condo was beautiful and a great place to snorkel. We went in october and the beach only had a few other people on it.Another great trip was the boat ride to the Lanai and Molakai islands where we went snorkeling. We were lucky and got to see a couple hundred dolphins putting on a show for us.It was an amazing trip and I will never forget it.The condo was a perfect place to crash after playing all day.It was as cool as you wanted it and we bought groceries so we didn't have to eat out at every meal.I would recommend this condo to everybody.

My husband and I stayed at this condo on a spur of the moment. We had planned to go to Cabo, but do to the flu epidemic, changed our vacation 3 days before we were due to fly out. I found Nina's condo and gave her a call. She was GREAT! Not only did she get us in on short notice, but gave us plenty of tips to get around Maui for our first time. The condo was beautiful, PERFECT location for walking through Lahaina and hitting the beach. The view from the condo is gorgeous and we couldn't have asked for more. It was very quiet, we slept very well, the concierge was nice and helpful. Also, the condo was well stocked with EVERYTHING, including boogey boards, beach towels, etc. It also had all spices and seasonings needed, so look before you shop. I would recommend this place to any of my friends or family, anytime!

My wife and I recently stayed for an extended time in this condo. We had an absolutely wonderful time and we are already planning a return visit next year. When you find a jewel like this it makes you want to return year after year. The unit exceeded our expectations because of its beachfront location. Whether you are sitting in the living room or on the lanai, you are constantly looking out at the ocean. With the beach only steps away and Lahaina town four blocks away, we found this the perfect combination of a quiet location with close proximity al the activity one could ask for. The unit was very clean and nicely furnished. We are a couple but a family with young children would find that this unit would work nicely. Highly recommended

My wife Kathy and I live on Oahu, but needed to get away. The new Super Ferry service made it possible to drive our own car while on Maui, and we wanted to stay in Lahaina for Halloween 2008. This ground floor unit is lovely, just steps from the parking lot for easy hauling of your stuff. The two queen beds in MB were very comfortable. Enjoyed lounging on the grass right outside the front door and strolls down the sandy beach. They have done a nice job decorating the interior with mirrored walls, two large flat screen TVs, one in MB & one in LR. Basically, all the comforts of home, but on the beach with an awesome view. Also right on Front street about 3 blks from the Pioneer Inn. No need to drive to shop while in Lahaina. We had a great time and would definitely stay in this condo again.

Location, location, location! Gorgeous views, truly oceanfront! This 1 bedroom is very large, clean and remodeled with 2 bathrooms, a definate plus. We loved walking to dinner and to our activites. We considered it perfect to be ground level and to walk out of the front door for our morning and evening beachwalks. A definate winner, we will be back.
