The House was AMAZING!!!
The House was AMAZING!!!
We had the opportunity to stay at the Jungle Love Garden House October 8-16, 2011. Poppy and Yamu were great hosts. They are extremely knowledgable about the area, making great suggestions regarding Puerto Viejo, other local restaurants, fun tours, best beach spots, snorkel locations and other general information while we were there. The house is near their amazing restaurant, but not so close that you hear or see what is happening at the restaurant. But it is nice to have a great restaurant so close for those evening when it rains. The house was described accurately and the a/c worked great upstairs - although we did not need to use it much. The property is very beautiful and it feel very secluded and safe at the same time. We ate at the restaurant 4 times during our stay. Each meal was fantastic, by far the best place to eat in the area. I would also recommend a stop by Jaguar Reserve Center for anyone considering the Puerto Viejo area. You get to see, interact and learn about local wildlife. You can even volunteer at the Reserve. The Reserve is located about 5 minute bike or 10 minute walk from Jungle Love. It is a must for anyone in the area. You get to play with young howler monkeys! I can't say enough good things about Jungle Love, Poppy and Yamu. October is a great time to visit the Caribbean Coast of Costa Rica, and the Jungle Love Garden House and Restaurant certainly made our trip even better.

Wonderful,excellent value.Yummy food Beautiful beaches.
We stayed here for about 1 week 1.5 years ago(took along time to get around to this!).It was wonderful.Beautiful house with your own hammock to chill and bikes if you want to go to town or to a different beach although the one right across the street was my favourite! We got engaged there!!in the water!!After we went and had the most wonderful meal made by Yamu the owner who runs an incredible restaurant on the property.I haven't been able to taste food as good for twice the price back here in Victoria. Plenty of dvds if you want a night in..and you really are right in the jungle!Howler monkeys abound! I would go back in a heartbeat .The owners Poppy and Yamu went out of their way to make us comfy. They made sure we got on the right bus into town and not the tour buses!Public transit is good and cheap. We just got back from Bora Bora and although different our experience in Costa rica was much more warm and friendly and the quality of accomadation and food much higher at a fraction of the price. Not to be missed!!

The house, restaurant and owners are amazing. They go beyond the call of duty and have much compassion, There's a large garden and the house has everything to make the stay nice. Walking to the beach takes your breath away and when you get there you feel like your in heaven. The property has monkeys across the road and toucans right outside your window!

My husband and I stayed at Jungle Love for one month in Oct - Nov 2009. The house is fantastic - the pictures don't do it justice! The location was perfect for what we were after (away from noisy bars and close to the beach), and a one minute walk from a well stocked supermarket, which really was super hand because we're foodies and love to cook. The kitchen was perfect for eating in, and the gorgeous owners of the house would let us know when the local fish delivery man was stopping by so we could stock up. We were also pleasantly surprised with all the extras that come with renting the house that aren't mentioned in the ad; the owners gave us two bikes to ride for the whole month - and we rode them every where, every day. Local bike hire is US$5 per bike per day, so they saved us around US$300!! Also there were a stack of DVDs if it was rainy outside and we we watched all of those, there were more we could swap with. There were howler monkeys and toucans in the trees, and a sloth took up residence outside our window. The owners had a heap of local insider info, which mean we got to taste the best local food and go on the most interesting and less touristy tours. We'll be back to Jungle love without a doubt - it was the perfect house for us and we found it incredible value for money compared to what was around the same area.
