When we arrived we were just blown away by the property....the view is just beautiful...the condo is very modern and has everything you need, a full kitchen, TV, sound system and is kept in tip top shape...the pool is a great way to spend the afternoon while sipping a cocktail...the development only has 6 units and is very private...the grounds around the property are just beautiful and very well maintained...your just a short walk to the beach and great dinning. The best part of our stay there was the the owner, Frank....a great guy who will help you with what ever you need, dinner reservations, booking trips and he even stopped by the store on our way from the airport to stock up on things before we arrived at the condo....thank you Frank, we so appreciated everything you did for us. Zihuatanejo is a great destination that we have visited many times and this is by far the best deal in town and truly great place to stay....from now on when we visit Zihuatanejo we have our new home away from home....when you stay here you will not be disappointed, we can't wait to go back.

Absolutely beautiful property...the views are just spectacular...the pool is a great way to spend the afternoon...great dinning is just a short walk away as is the beach...the condo is modern with everything you need including TV, internet and stereo and has a full kitchen...Zihuatanejo is a great place to visit and this is by far the best deal in town for your get away. The best part of staying is the owner, Frank....he is a very nice guy who helps you with anything you need from stopping at the store to stock up or making reservations, Frank is just great...we visit Zihuatanejo a few times a year and we have found our new home when there, thanks Frank...we can't wait to see you when we come back.

Casa Zih- AMAZING. Why stay anywhere else!

We spent 10 days at Casa Zih over December and January of 2012-2013. We had an incredible stay. We're experienced travelers and wanted a nice place to stay with our 20 month old son. We found all that and more at Casa Zih. First the property- its an amazing condo, spacious and comfy. The kitchen is well appointed for pretty serious cooking. The water is filtered and drinkable right from the tap. We made a lot of breakfasts and a few dinners as well. The bedrooms are spacious and the beds are comfy. The bathrooms are big, the master bath especially is huge and the giant tiled shower is really nice. We especially appreciated the great big walk in closet off the master bedroom. We were able to unpack and really settle in. great stereo, plasma screen, wireless internet, lots and lots of movies, CDs and books. The views though... the views. The living room has a giant full length accordion door that opens up to the terrace. When the doors are open, it doubles the living space. Your just steps away from the awesome zero depth infinity pool. Our son could play in the zero depth area and really loved it. Casa Zih sits on a hilltop overlooking the entire bay. From the pool, from the porch, the bedroom, or the kitchen you've got unobstructed views of the whole enchilada. Frank Sheppard is the owner, and you'll never meet a nicer guy. He was always happy to answer questions, give advice or even help out with a lift when he saw us at the bottom of the hill. While he's "around", he was never in our way or in our business. Frank joked that it took 7 minutes to walk to the beach and 10 minutes to walk home. We laughed but its true. The uphill walk back, especially after a few margaritas at Paty's was good exercise. We did have a car for some of our stay. The airport is about a 20 minute drive, "downtown" Zihuat is maybe 5-10 minutes away. The big supermarket is about 10 minutes as well. We're planning on going back next year. Its perfect for our family, or two couples. The condo next to ours is almost identical and there were two couples renting for the entire time that we were there. Since there is one master suite, and one other bedroom with another bathroom, they opted to switch rooms half way through, so theyd each get a taste of the luxury of the master suite. The master bedroom has pocket doors that open up to the great views of the bay as well. Great views, great location, great owner. This place is amazing!

Amazing...

Every aspect of this property exceeded our expectations and Frank is the perfect host - there when you need him, has good local knowledge and is super helpful. Since returning home we've promoted this place to so many friends and family that Frank may be booked more than he may want! Every day as we hiked up the steep hill from the beach to the condo we looked forward to the rewarding dip in the infinity pool and a few minutes gazing back at the bay. It's a really spectatular spot and we can't wait to go back!

Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Nous venons de passer 5 merveilleux jours, dans un endroit quasi paradisiaque. La vue est absolument extraordinaire, à couper le souffle. Nous ne nous lassions jamais de regarder la mer, d'assister au levée et au coucher du soleil à partir de notre terrasse. Le condo est spacieux et magnifiquement aménagé, très bien équipé pour la cuisine (nous étions 5 personnes). Les chambres sont confortables; nous avons apprécié l'air climatisé car il faisait chaud à ce temps-ci de l'année; malgré qu'une bonne brise soufflait constamment étant donné la hauteur de l'endroit. Et la piscine infinie... tout près pour nous relaxer quand nous n'étions pas à la mer. M. Sheppard est un hôte hors pair: discret mais disponible et très sympathique. Mille fois merci et à la prochaine... We just spent 5 wonderful days in a place near paradise. The view is absolutely amazing, breathtaking. We could not get enough of watching the sea, assist in lifting and sunset from our terrace. The condo is spacious and beautifully furnished, very well equipped for cooking (we were 5 people). The rooms are comfortable and we enjoyed the air conditioning because it was hot at this time of year, despite a good breeze blowing constantly since the height of the place. And the infinity pool ... close relaxing when we were not at the sea. Mr. Sheppard is a Great Host: discreet but available and very friendly. Thanks a lot and see you soon, hopefully...

A low-season luxury bargain

We always stay in VRBO properties, but this is by far the most luxurious place we've ever stayed in our price range. We felt very spoiled with great hot showers, clean water from the tap, a fantastic infinity pool, fully equipped kitchen, welcoming beers and, of course, the spectacular view. The condo perfectly matches the photos, and is actually even prettier in person! It's only a 5-minute walk to the best beach in the area (Playa la Ropa), but it was still hard to leave because the condo is so beautiful. We had great weather in July even though it's technically the rainy season. We recommend this time for families as you'll see lots of Mexican families on their vacations at the beach. It's easy to get around by taxi or buses. The owner was gone himself on vacation while we visited, but he kindly made arrangements for his property manager to check in on us and help us get to the airport.

Hi Frank, sorry it took so long to review. Loved the place only five minute walk to beach 30 into town great priced taxis. great restaurants. Also enjoyed just staying at the villa. Can't wait to return. Frank had lots of great info was very helpful and the place is as good or better than advertised

Just reviewed our pictures and realized we spent the majority of our week at the condo. Many mornings,afternoons, and evenings spent just enjoying the scenary from the patio or pool. Our host lives on site and took care of our every need. We plan on returning if we do not puchase our own property but, we would recommend family and friends stay there.

Stunning View

Just returned from a week long stay at Frank's place. In a nutshell - perfect!! The arrangements via Frank were precise. He was there to pick us up at the airport as promised, even waited an extra hour for us to clear customs. Thank you Frank. We were whisked away to the condo which is a quick 15-20 minuted drive from the airport. The condo is only a 5 minute walk downhill to Playa la Ropa. The condo was spotless, a few cold beer awaited us in the fridge and a stunning view of the the bay. Frank had a binder with tons of information regarding local activities, restaurants, condo instructions, etc. There was no guess work. Lots of towels, nice ceiling fans in every room, big sliders that open to the outdoor patio, comfortable furniture inside and out to enjoy the pool and view. New appliances, granite counter-tops, great pressure in the showers. ++++++ for everything. A well equipped condo. Overall, a 10/10. Frank is a wealth of information regarding the area and was always available when we needed to ask a question. There is no doubt in my mind that we will return and I highly recommend it to everyone.

Wonderful time

We three had a wonderful time at Casa Mar y Sol. Playa la Ropa is the best beach for swimming, relaxing, walking, eating, drinking beer and socializing. The town center was within walking distance and a delight to explore. We especially liked the public market. We were nourished by the constant sound of the waves audible even from the Casa on the hill. The condo was well furnished and Frank was even more helpful and respectfully friendly than we had hoped. The view, terrace and pool was fantastic. Yes, the hill to the casa was challenging, but good for our fitness program and taxis readily available.We enjoyed a beachside spa with yoga classes nearby. Yes, the master bedroom suite was larger and more private, but the smaller one manageable. We would love to return.

A great spot

This condominium is a great place for a vacation. The location above La Ropa beach is wonderful, with sweeping panoramic views from your front patio, or from the pool area and pool. As others have commented, you are a short but steep walk to/from the beach, though if you have a car you can easily drive it, or another option is to walk down and taxi back up. There are many good restaurants on the beach, or if you want elegant dining, that is also available very close to the condo. Taxis are plentiful in the area for those who wish to visit the downtown area, or travel over to Ixtapa. We stayed there with two couples. Be advised that the "master" is more spacious and private than the second bedroom. The owner Frank lives next door, and is available to give advice or to deal with any maintenance issues, but not intrusive. Because he is right there, the facilities are very well maintained, and everything works properly. All in all, a terrific experience.

My husband and I stayed in the Casa Mar Y Sol condo for a week in November. The view from the condo is amazing, and we found the condo itself to be perfectly comfortable and very nicely furnished. Frank (the owner) is very helpful and accomodating! The pool was definitely our favorite part...just steps from the condo and had such an amazing view! We would definitely stay here again, it was in a great location and a short (but steep!) walk to/from the beach and lots of restaurants. Thanks again Frank!

Just returned from our stay @ Casa Mar Y Sol. Frank was great to us, very helpful and accomodating & the place is amazing! It was our first time in Zihua & we are already planning our return for next year sometime. The view from Casa Mar Y Sol can't be beat...you can see forever. The hill is a bit steep, but worth it. We already miss waking up to that view! On La Ropa, we loved La Perla (best garlic shrimp EVER). In town, Daniels had great mango margaritas & delicious food as well

The condo is very bright clean and modern The view overlooking Zihua Bay is just fabulous The infinity pool is steps away from the condo which is a huge plus Because the building only has 6 units you feel as though you have the pool to yourselves Frank is very helpful and accommodating We highly recommend this property Will not disappoint

I was really happy with the decision to stay in a condo in La Ropa that had the comforts of a home. Frank's place was clean, spacious and all the amenities were functioning properly which made our stay memorable. The beds were very comfortable and there were plenty of closet space and enough towels for our stay. The gas kitchen and full size frig were great. Washer/Dryer was awesome. There were plenty of ceiling fans which helped when we didn't want to use the AC. Location was great; property was located on a hill at the end of a very small street. Slight construction noise next door but not enough to take away from the Zihua bay view’s while drifting in the infinity pool!! Although the pool was shared, it was hardly ever used which was perfect for us!! La Ropa beach is a 10 min walk and town was another 20 min. There was a binder that a collection of menus/stuff to do while in Zihua, which we added maps to since no one seemed to have tourist maps in town!! Definitely hit Patty's and La Perla restaurants in La Ropa for inexpensive beach front dining. If you’re a runner this was a great place to get some hill runs in, either towards town or up in the hills overlooking Playa Las Gatas. Very little traffic and actually drive slower!!! I would definitely come back and stay here longer now that I know about this property!! Thanks Frank!!

If you have never been to zihua, the view of the bay is great. The view from this patio is one of the best in town. So good, that you want to sit on the patio or pool all day. Now on to Frank--he is so helpful and friendly, he goes out of his way to make sure that everything you need is taken care of. The house is clean, new, and the filtered water is great--we love that fact you can drink it and use the ice. This place is a gem, and if you are thinking of this or another place, trust me, you won't go wrong choosing this place. By the way, he also has a great CD and Movie collection.

I have to concur with other reviewers about this amazing property. The view, in particular, far surpasses anything you can imagine. This was one of the best places we have ever stayed through VRBO. We had many evening meals outside, under the stars, followed by a quiet dip in the infinity pool. This is a wonderful location for two couples. We really appreciated the well equipped kitchen and Frank's amazing collection of CD's and DVD's. Also, it's great having Frank near by for great conversations including helpful advice about local attractions and outings. We'll go back to this gem for sure. On another note, it's a quick walk down to beach, but not so quick coming back. Recommend taking car down closer to the beach to avoid steep uphill walk back.

A wonderful Stay!

My wife and I and 3 year old son stayed in la Casa Mar y Sol in September 2010. It is a beautiful condo with stunning views. Every day we walked down to Playa la Ropa and rented a palapa and chairs at La Perla restaurant (for 50 pesos a day), which, in our opinion, was the best spot on the beech. It was a good walk with a 3 year old, especially on the way back, but not unmanageable. We tended to go down in the mornings and come back to the condo after lunch for our son to take a nap. My wife and I could then just enjoy the view and the tranquility of the place. Frank was very attentive to our needs and we really appreciat his willingness to allow us to stay there with a young child as many other places in the area don't allow children. We definitely recommend this place!

We stayed at Casa Zih for eight perfect nights, I cannot recommend it enough. It was sublime. The condo is better than the pictures represent, and the pictures are very good, it's that nice. Zihua is the perfect Mexican vacation spot, the beaches are clean and warm, the restaurants superb and the town charming. If you want real Mexico this is it, it has the prefect balance of Northern amenabilities and Mexican ambiance. The condo is perfection, the view alone is worth the price, the condo itself is clean modern and beautifully laid out and decorated. You will have a brilliant holiday spending days body surfing down at Playa La Ropa and evenings with a cocktail drinking in the view. You will not be disappointed. Myself, wife and kids would go back tomorrow if we could.

Best Vacation Yet!

My husband and I decided to return to Zihuatanejo for our 4 year wedding anniversary. Even though this was our third time visiting Zihuatanejo, it was by far the best trip that we ever had, and a large part was due to our stay at Casa Zih and specifically the condo we stayed in, Casa Mar y Sol. From the moment we arrived, Dmitri and I were blown away with the condo. Not only were the views spectacular from our bedroom, kitchen/living room, porch, and the infinity pool (we got a chance to see a pair of dolphins from our porch) but we immediately felt like the space was our own private paradise. Unlike our stay in hotels in previous years where we had shared space with many other people, we often felt that not only was the condo our own private space but also the pool and surrounding areas since we rarely saw the other 2 tenants that also had condos at Casa Zih. At the same time, Dmitri and I still felt that we were a part of the community since the beach and public area was only a 5-10 minute walk from the condo and the town was only a 5 minute drive. In addition, both Frank (Casa Mar y Sol owner) and Reuben (Caretaker for Casa Zih) made us feel at home and were always willing to help or answer any questions that we had as well as offering suggestions about good places to eat or spend our days. For anybody who is thinking about spending their vacation at Casa Mar y Sol, I would give my highest recommendations. Casa Mar y Sol proved to be the perfect combination of the best that Zihuatanejo has to offer (i.e. views, people, accommodations) as well as providing the comforts of home (satellite TV/free internet access, kitchen, washer/dryer), and in our case even better than our accommodations at home :0) Dmitri and I cannot wait to return and hope that other people will be able to experience the incredible and AFFORADABLE opportunity that we had enjoying the uniqueness of Zihuatanejo and Casa Mar y Sol! Two Weeks In Paradise

We spent two weeks at this lovely property in February, 2010. The listing description was entirely accurate and there were no surprises. The view from the terrace was a "million dollar view". Lovely to sit there in the morning with the first cup of coffee. The property was very clean and well maintained with all the necessary equipment to stay in all the time if you wanted to. It was nice & quiet as well. There are lots of good and reasonably priced eating places close by and it was very easy to get around either by bus or taxi. Our host, Frank Sheppard was very helpful and considerate. He even met us at the airport! we will definitly be back.

Million dollar view

Talk about a million dollar view. Every morning early I would rise and bring my freshly brewed cup of Mexican coffee onto the terrace overlooking paradise. What a way to start your day. The property was very well kept and had all the modern ammendenies of home and then some. The infinity pool was spectacular to say the least. I cooled off and enjoyed the scenery at the same time. Frank has always been a gracious host and is very knowleable of all the wonderful things to do in "Z:". This was not my first time in paradise you see. I loved it so much, I retuned 4 years in a row. The nearby town is very enchanting. Many great places to enjoy lots of great food and tons of shopping. I always felt very safe and welcome by the town folk. In closing, I would definitly recommend this property as a class act. Awesome times in "Z" Cheers claudette

The condo surpassed my expectations. It was picture perfect! comfortable beds,luxurious bathrooms,well equiped kitchen and gorgeous terrace overlooking the bay and the pool.It was a perfect location close to La ropa and within walking distance to town.

The location is excellent, as it's an easy walk to the beach and many good restaurants, and easy to grab the bus or a cab for the short trip to town. I loved having the pool close by for cooling off after walking back from the beach or town, and it is also a great place to hang out in the early evening. The condo is very comfortable, and has every amenity needed. As a regular visitor to Mexico I especially appreciated the filtered water, wireless Internet, and US-standard plugs. While I ate most of my meals out, it was great having the full kitchen for light meals and snacks. It's a nice complex, very safe, and I spent a lot more time hanging out there than I would have in a hotel room.

Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
