When you walk in through the gate of this rustic paradise, you enter a world unto itself. Yet outside the gate you’re in the most sought after neighborhood in the Rocky Mountain West! The rental is attached to our French inspired log home.
We maintain the cabin in accordance with the criteria as set forth by the Partnership for Global Sustainable Tourism. These criteria were designed for larger organizations, so we adapt them to our situation (one of a kind rental) and adhere as closely as we can to these criteria. Questions welcome, or check them out by doing a Google search for Partnership for Global Sustainable Tourism.
One bedroom, huge deck, great gardens (including a small stream and pond). Old world window hardware, claw foot tub, floor-to-ceiling barn sash windows in bathroom. Small rooms, low ceilings, exposed log perlins, plank floors and ceilings, hand scribed chinking. It is rustic and real with artistic touches and is truly unique. The coffee table in the living room is the almost-world-famous "Jackson Hole Box," filled with maps, books, brochures, coupons, recommendations, insider tips and more. The plethora of nooks and crannies, and sense of abundance, belie the small carbon footprint of this green building and garden. The garden is completely chemical free, so children and grownups alike can feel great about exploring the nooks and crannies there. Also enjoy the playground and organic vegetable gardens adjacent to the property.
We JUST finished some major improvements including brand new carpeting throughout the main floor, additional cooking equipment, and a full week-long professional detail cleaning. Just added--Sealy Posturpedic mattress/box spring set, and luxury down bedding with king pillows, Pendleton/Ralph Lauren blankets await you for the most comfortable and luxurious sleep ever!! The place sparkles!!

- Other Amenities
- Before environmentally friendly building was a popular idea, this property was built by serious mountaineer/artists and designed to maximize the insulating qualities of logs, the southern light, water use/reuse, and other energy saving and aesthetic qualities of the site. The magic walk beneath three hundred year old spruce down a fairy-light path (leaving the road and cars behind) allows cares and constraints to fall away. The garden is a trick mirror of space relationships—taller than it is wide or long—with a pond and little bridge. Excellent soil has created itself from decades of slough from the abundance of huge trees.
- Suitability
- No Pets Allowed
- Kid Friendly: Our home and garden are absolutely magic for children with a caveat. Renters must fully understand the non-standard nature of the house, and sign waivers indicating such. Although the home is unconventional and deserves respect in terms of careful monitoring of children, we have had many successful experiences with children. We can provide details in terms of the potential hazards and you can decide.
- Smoking Not Allowed: PLEASE NOTE that smoking is strictly prohibited in the cabin AND on the grounds. Thank you.

What a lovely home you've created! The cabin was just perfect for us (family of 4). Simple and beautiful and delightful in every way. Next time we'll need to stay longer just so we can spend a few more waking hours here! We loved everything about GTNP and the surrounding area and your tips for things to do were great--float trip this morning, saw a mama moose and her calf! Many thanks for sharing your magical home and lovely energy with our family!
