When you walk in through the gate of this rustic paradise, you enter a world unto itself. Yet outside the gate you’re in the most sought after neighborhood in the Rocky Mountain West! The rental is attached to our French inspired log home.

We maintain the cabin in accordance with the criteria as set forth by the Partnership for Global Sustainable Tourism. These criteria were designed for larger organizations, so we adapt them to our situation (one of a kind rental) and adhere as closely as we can to these criteria. Questions welcome, or check them out by doing a Google search for Partnership for Global Sustainable Tourism.

One bedroom, huge deck, great gardens (including a small stream and pond). Old world window hardware, claw foot tub, floor-to-ceiling barn sash windows in bathroom. Small rooms, low ceilings, exposed log perlins, plank floors and ceilings, hand scribed chinking. It is rustic and real with artistic touches and is truly unique. The coffee table in the living room is the almost-world-famous "Jackson Hole Box," filled with maps, books, brochures, coupons, recommendations, insider tips and more. The plethora of nooks and crannies, and sense of abundance, belie the small carbon footprint of this green building and garden. The garden is completely chemical free, so children and grownups alike can feel great about exploring the nooks and crannies there. Also enjoy the playground and organic vegetable gardens adjacent to the property.

We JUST finished some major improvements including brand new carpeting throughout the main floor, additional cooking equipment, and a full week-long professional detail cleaning. Just added--Sealy Posturpedic mattress/box spring set, and luxury down bedding with king pillows, Pendleton/Ralph Lauren blankets await you for the most comfortable and luxurious sleep ever!! The place sparkles!!

The house is not in a subdivision, rather it's one of two small lots surrounded by 5+ acre parcels, one of which is an historic ranch, 110 acres on the Snake River. Within 2 miles of our home (you can walk or ride down the newly constructed bike path which connects to Grand Teton National Park and Teton Village) are the following:
*Prime Snake River access point
*Nouveau Italian and Barbecue dining
*Elite Teton Pines Golf and Tennis complex (great little shops, king, post office, gourmet deli, a very decent wine shop, great garden store, etc...)

    • Before environmentally friendly building was a popular idea, this property was built by serious mountaineer/artists and designed to maximize the insulating qualities of logs, the southern light, water use/reuse, and other energy saving and aesthetic qualities of the site. The magic walk beneath three hundred year old spruce down a fairy-light path (leaving the road and cars behind) allows cares and constraints to fall away. The garden is a trick mirror of space relationships—taller than it is wide or long—with a pond and little bridge. Excellent soil has created itself from decades of slough from the abundance of huge trees.
  • Suitability
    • No Pets Allowed
    • Kid Friendly: Our home and garden are absolutely magic for children with a caveat. Renters must fully understand the non-standard nature of the house, and sign waivers indicating such. Although the home is unconventional and deserves respect in terms of careful monitoring of children, we have had many successful experiences with children. We can provide details in terms of the potential hazards and you can decide.

    • The cabin is cozy and beautifully decorated. There is also a wonderful private porch with lounge chairs perfect for morning coffee and relaxation. The cabin is perfectly located for exploring GTNP and the owners have given us great advice on where to go and what to do. We were also able to use bikes for a scenic ride on the nearby bike trail. Thanks for everything! Maya, Drasko, Ana, and Marko (NJ)

    • Wow! we never expected to discover what we found on the other side of the gate. It's hard to find an "oasis" in the middle of one of the most beautiful parts of the country - but that's just what it is. It's not just the "place" that is so special - it's the people that own the place that make it so special. We enjoyed 10 days here - and felt from the moment we entered that we were "home".

    • The cabin & setting is a special haven that completed our vacation experience in "getting away from it all" and yet perfectly situated for easy access to downtown Jackson and GTNP. Our hosts were more than gracious--really made a special effort to ensure our visit was all that it could be! We'd love to come back someday!

    • My husband and I stayed at this wonderful and cozy cabin for 4 nights. We found it to be quite centrally located with excellent restaurants and stores within walking or biking distance (great bike path just outside the door !) The cabin itself is so clean, comfortable and self contained that it was fun to just hang out there ! The cabin and the grounds have alot of character and you can tell are cared for by people who really care and it is true that once you walk in the gate, you enter a sanctuary . We highly recommend !

    • Our stay in this delightful cabin was lovely in every way! Perfectly situated amongst the trees in a picturesque area near Grand Teton National Park, this home is cozy and inviting. Special attention has been paid to detail in architecture and decor, with the result being a truly charming and unique retreat! The owners couldn't have been more helpful as we planned our trip, and we so appreciated their gracious efforts to make our visit to their cabin a memorable one. Our 3 kids have regaled their friends with accounts of the "amazing log cabin" they stayed in at Tetons. If you are looking for a wonderfully special place to stay near Jackson, you've found it!

    • We were absolutely delighted with our lodgings when we arrived about sunset... and stepped into this real log cabin under the pines. We sat on our screened-in "front porch" and watched the closing rays of daylight across the meadow out back, turn to voilet-colored night... We slept in the bottom "bunk" (a double bed upstairs) and were perfectly comfy... David got up and prepared a ranch breakfast before we went to tour the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone Nat'l Park every day. The little brook welcomed us back home... We couldn't have been more pleased with our environment... Good restaurants, too! Thank you, thank you...

What a lovely home you've created! The cabin was just perfect for us (family of 4). Simple and beautiful and delightful in every way. Next time we'll need to stay longer just so we can spend a few more waking hours here! We loved everything about GTNP and the surrounding area and your tips for things to do were great--float trip this morning, saw a mama moose and her calf! Many thanks for sharing your magical home and lovely energy with our family!
