Excellent Long Ski Weekend

Guest: Linda (Tyler Hill, Pennsylvania)
Date of Stay: 03/03/12 Review Submitted: 03/13/12

We were a group of 3 generations and everyone enjoyed themselves. The house is spacious and well equipped. The yoga room was a great place for the kids to "camp". Smuggler's Notch is a 12minute ride, so that made life simple since that was the focus of our trip. 158 Restaurant and Bakery was a delicious place for breakfast. The owners were helpful and easy to deal with. We would certainly recommend this house to others interested in a VT ski rental. (And if you don't ski, but you like to quilt, just google quilt shops and you'll find some not too far away!)

Great stay

Some friends and I (seven in total) stayed here for a very long weekend to ski Smuggs and really enjoyed the house. It's got beautiful views of Mt. Mansfield and is only 15 minutes or so to the mountain. The house has everything you could possibly need and is in great condition. Mike was a great host and we hope to be back next year. Highly recommended.

We had a great family reunion after a niece's wedding, and found the combination of stunning views and peaceful solitude (aside from our interaction with each other!) tremendous. Highly recommended!!

Great space with a beautiful backdrop

My friends and I rented this space for the night before the Green Mountain Relay, which started in nearby Jeffersonville (literally 5 minutes away). It was the perfect spot for 12 people to relax in before a crazy weekend of running all the way down to Bennington, VT. Mike and Lisa are great hosts and this was the second time I've stayed in their place. It was clean and comfortable, and everything we needed was available, from towels to coffee to a dishwasher! Mike Timbers was easy to get in touch with and he answered all of my questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner. I plan on doing this relay for as long as I can, and my friends and I plan on returning to this wonderful house as well. My only regret was that we couldn't stay longer because we had to get started with running the relay!

Wonderful Vermont winter vacation

Guest: Josée (Blainville Quebec)
Date of Stay: 12/26/10 Review Submitted: 01/07/11

We really had a wonderful time in Vermont at Mike and Lisa's home. The house is lovely and comfortable, and the view from the kitchen and living room is breath taking! You almost feel like doing dishes :) . We were 9 people and every one had a place to sleep, and were very comfortable! The Yoga room is perfect for a WII FIT family tournament at night after eating too much! (we had brought a small tv set along). We definitly plan on returning!

Owner response:Thanks Josee, for the kind words. Wish we could have watched you all in our yoga room. Must have been a sight! Have a great New Year and we'll look forward to hearing from you again! Lisa

Ski vacation

Guest: Sharon (Boston, MA)
Date of Stay: 12/23/10 Review Submitted: 01/05/11

We stayed at the house over Christmas break in 2010. We were 5 adults and 5 kids, and this home had plenty of space for all of us. The house was beautiful and very comfortable. Mike and Lisa were great hosts and immediately made us feel at home. The house has all the charm of Vermont, with dairy cows within view and Smuggler's Notch just a short drive away.

Owner response:Thanks Sharon! We enjoyed meeting you too. Glad you had a nice stay at our house. Hope you'll come again! Lisa

Just to let everyone know that this is a gem of a vacation home. I am almost tempted to keep it a secret! My husband and I, my daughter, husband and 2 small children and my sister, husband, and 2 teenagers stayed for 4 days and it accomadated us without a problem. The pictures are true to what you get and the house is very welcoming.. LIsa and Mike are very helpful, pleasant people. We enjoyed reading the history of the house that their daughter wrote when she was younger. I do hope that we can do this again soon - though my son probably doesn't want to do the wedding scene again so we will have to chose a different occasion! :^))

Owner response:Thanks Celia! We really enjoyed meeting you and your crowd. Hopefully we will see you again in the near future. Don't forget us in the winter when you can play in lots of snow! Lisa

We had a wonderful winter vacation skiing, sledding and hiking right outside the door. The house was very comfortable, even for our large group of 11 people. Mike + Lisa were very helpful in all stages of our visit. We really enjoyed the whole experience.

A little piece of heaven. Thanks Lisa and Mike for sharing your charming home. Immaculate, cozy, and inviting, the perfect setting for our 4 generation family get together. The spacious yard was great for games, young and old enjoyed the magnificent views and lovely gardens. A fun filled weekend of family games, hiking, swimming and golfing not to mention all the eating and laughs. A great time was had by all.

What a charming place. We found this farmhouse immaculately clean with all of our needs anticipated. Lisa even found time the week before Christmas to make casseroles for us to pop in the oven after skiing. We loved reading the history, playing the games, and only regret not making time to play the dance party video. The snow could have cooperated more, but toward weekenf it was wonderful. We will definately return.

The house is beautiful and in excellent condition with all the advantages of a modern home but in a beautiful scenic area. the wood stove was wonderful and added a romantic country atmosphere. We were two families with 4 adults and 5 children and the house was very spacious for all of us. The amount of games that were left for us to use was amazing and contributed to a wonderful "home" feeling. The kitchen was superb with all appliances needed to make great meals. The house is located 20 minutes drive away from the smugglers resort and a 5 minute drive to general stores which carry anything you need. Mike and Lisa were wonderful and we would definetely stay at there place agin!!!!

We just returned from a very enjoyable and relaxing stay at Lisa and Mike's. We were their first B&B guests and everything was top notch. The house was comfortable and warm and the grounds and mountain views were great. Lisa and Mike did everything to make us feel welcome and they provided many tips for exploring the area. Great breakfasts too. We pick blackberries from the backyard for the tasty pancakes.

We just spent a glorious July week of sunshine in this lovely old farmhouse. We shared the time with our daughter and her family of two little girls, 2 and almost 5. The views and ambience were perfect! The generous porches overlooking the idyllic Vermont scenery, big old trees, cows across the way grazing in the fields and incredible mountains. The yoga studio was a great space for kids to run around and play games. There were horses and chicken to visit and lovely flowers and vegetable gardens which were a source of beauty and fresh herbs and veggies. And, to top it all off, the owners couldn't be nicer or more relaxed. Thank you Lisa and Mike. Mignonne, Bill, Maia , Brett, Amelia, Eliza and Santo the dog.

We stayed at Mike and Lisa's home for our family vacation in June. It felt just like home; it was very comfortable. We met Mike and Lisa and they are very nice folks and made us feel very welcomed. The view of Mt. Mansfield was spectacular. The house was very convenient for getting into town (Jeffersonville). The flowers and the birds were beautiful. It was just great. Our 10-month old grandchild was with us and the house accomodated him just fine. We also took advantage of the yoga room and the yoga mats. It was very nice having access to whatever needed harvesting in the vegetable garden (which was lettuce in June). Altogether, we all had a wonderful experience.

We just returned from an all-too-short a stay, and where on earth could we have found a better place to kick back, relax and enjoy? It is definitely a spot where you can settle in the moment you arrive and wish life could always be so tranquil and at the same time full of robust activities. The residing rooster has a lot more to crow about than his adoring flock of hens.

This note was left on our counter-top after a party of 10 people rented our house for a long weekend in February. Dear Lisa and Mike, We have had one of the most memorable vacations this weekend! Thank you for providing us with your beautiful home. There was a foot of snow everywhere when we drove up Friday, and we loved having snowball fights and making snow angels - most of all though, we took some incredible pictures of your views. Thanks you - your home is a real treasure!
