Rental period clarification...We rent Saturday to Saturday ONLY during the peak summer months of June, July and August. All other months are considered off season and require a minimum 2 night stay.

Any FULL week APRIL 1st - MAY 20th = $675/wk - rate DOES NOT include taxes, post rental cleaning, or security deposit. Weekly special cannot be pro-rated for partial week rental - partial week rentals will be calculated at the posted nightly rate ($120/nt).
Non-peak = 2-night minimum.
Peak season = weekly only (Sat-Sat).

We're also "dog friendly" - your small (under 35 lbs) well-behaved pup is welcome to join you for your beach vacation.

Fee Detail:
Off season = $120/nt (2 night min). We're flexible on non-peak season weekly rental start/end dates and will offer discounts for multi-week/monthly rentals. For off season, nightly rentals, there is a post-rental cleaning fee of $75 in addition to the rental fee. Taxes and security deposit also apply.
Peak season (Summer) - weekly rentals only (Sat-Sat); $1,295/wk includes post-rental cleaning. Taxes and security deposit are in addition to the weekly rental rate.
Security Deposit of $200 applies to ALL rentals. Pet friendly rentals eligible for a 50% deposit refund after the rental period. All other rentals receive a full deposit refund, assuming no damage to the property during tenancy.

This beach home is quaint and tastefully furnished. The kitchen is well-equipped, and there are games and activities galore. There are extensive decks surrounding the home and on the roof, allowing guests to enjoy the peaceful surroundings and renowned sunsets of Sunset Beach. The yard / under house area is completely fenced in and beach access is less than 300 feet from the house. Note this is a NO SMOKING home - small, well behaved, kennel-trained dogs are allowed. We welcome rentals from families and responsible adults over the age of 25.
Sunset Beach is the Southern-most island on the North Carolina coast and just 20 minutes from North Myrtle Beach. Sunset Beach is one of North Carolina’s most peaceful beaches with over 200 feet of natural dunes before the first row of homes. The atmosphere is quiet and family-oriented, even during peak season months. One of the Nation’s most beautiful wildlife preserves –Bird Island – is just a short walk down the beach. Observe deer, wild goats, sea turtles, and other sea life as well as enjoy miles of undeveloped dunes and marsh areas.
If you're a golfer, there are dozens of gorgeous courses just minutes of the island. Also, we're close to many local conference centers (Sea Trail is one), making our home a nice alternative to hotel lodging.

- Pet Friendly : Our home is "dog friendly" - maximum two (2) small, well-behaved, kennel trained dogs allowed. No pit bulls, rotweillers, chows, German shepherds, or other extra large breeds (no exceptions). Dogs must be kennel trained (and owners travel with a crate or kennel). Extra pet rental fee applies. Tenants must supply breed name, weight, age at time of deposit.
- Kid Friendly : Sunset Beach is synonymous with family! We have kids and our house is a great vacation spot for families. The fully fenced yard and swings below the house are great bonuses.

Why the Owner Chose Sunset Beach
o Sunset Beach is an incredibly relaxing and nature-filled beach destination.
o A great family-friendly island atmosphere - no large hotels on the island.
o Extensive dunes and broad, flat beach make for great walks and biking.
o The West End (where the cottage is located) has less rental home traffic, thus the streets and beach area tend to be quieter, even in summer months.
o Bird Island, a nature preserve, is a short walk down the beach.
o Explore the marsh for an alternative to a day at the beach.
o More 'commercial' activities are a short drive onto the mainland - mini golf, regular golf, dining, movies, etc.
A National Wildlife Preserve... about 2 miles in length, this extension to the Sunset Beach area is great to walk/jog/bike. Depending on the season, sea turtles, deer, and other wildlife can be seen.

Twin Lakes, Crabby Oddwaters, and Bill's Seafood are easily accessible.
Food Lion, Walgreens, CVS are all at this intersection. Lowes Foods is another mile down the street towards Ocean Isle.
We have another home on Sunset Beach - located on 6th street along Canal A (listing #196164). There is deep water boat access to the intercoastal waterway. We do not allow pets at this home.

Welcome to our quaint beach cottage at Sunset Beach! This older cottage was our first home at Sunset (we now have a second home on Canal A on the East End of the island). It was purchased when our children and our two yellow labs were all very young, so we know the home is well suited for families and dogs. The home was given a full update - no more dark wood panelling, olive green linoleum floors, or blue shag carpet! It is bright, cozy, airy, and just a great place to relax.

My family of four (plus dog) had a wonderful time staying at the Bugg House over a long Christmas weekend. The owners were easy to contact and provided helpful, accurate, and friendly information leading up to our stay. the property weas easy to find, it was well-maintained, and well-provisioned. The suggestion to work with Julie's Rentals for linens was a good one. It was an easy walk to the beach, and the rooftop deck made viewing the sunset, moon, and stars easy. thanks!

The house was great, location to the beach perfect and there were no surprises. My wife and I shared this home with other MS150 riders who participated in the MS fundraising ride from Charlotte to Sunset Beach. A perfect destination for us..anytime!

The home was bright and cheery and easily accommodated our family of five with our pet Zoe. The close proximity to the beach and the wonderful outdoor shower made our trips to the ocean frequent. The owners were friendly and very responsive. We would definitely revisit this property.

For an older property, the house was in great shape. Plenty of comfortable furninture inside and out. The board games, beach toys, hammock, and kitchen utensils were all put to good use. The walk down to the beach was a breeze. Close enough to the pier to go fishing if you wanted and an easy stroll down to the bird sanctuary. The fenced in yard is awesome, and as far as I could tell, the only house I saw with one. Thank you to the Bugg family for sharing the house and being friendly, prompt, and professional owners.

We make every effort to keep the property up to date and frequently replace worn items (ex. new area rug, patio furniture, bedspreads) so the cottage is as fresh as an older home can be for our guests. The fence is a HUGE bonus for any family with small children or guests bringing a dog. It's a rare find on the island.

We rented the Bugg House for the last 2 weeks of September. It is as comfortable as the pictures suggest and so convenient to the beach. We chose it because we could take our dog and it worked out perfectly. The house is clean, comfortable, and well equipped. Even with Tropical Storm Nicole paying a visit, we loved our time there. Sunset is a wonderful beach!

I was so excited to see how the home exactly reflected it's ad pictures!! No surprises just as wonderful as I had hoped. The house is extremely cozy and comfort friendly including the beds which were great to crawl into after a very hot day of island walking. We loved the fenced in yard for the dogs and were even more excited that this is one of the few homes that does take dogs. The Bugg family happened to be on the island the week we were there and they were a pleasure to meet....what friendly people who did not make me feel like a renter or a stranger. You should have not one complaint if you stay here from the wonderful home to the great views and easy access to the beach. Parking is plentiful for this property, and the area is quiet. This was truly a vacation enjoyed by all, even the ones with 4 feet :)!! Don't hesitate to rent here no matter what season.

We stayed at this residence from June 27 to July 4. We loved it! We have two small children, and they loved the house as much as we did. The house was very kid friendly with games, sand toys and...what they liked most of all....bunk beds! It was a perfect location to the beach. The photos online were very accurate. We would most definately stay here again!
