Why the Owner Chose Nantahala
We chose this location to buy our vacation rental because the mountains are so beautiful and the view is spectacular. There are also many attractions near the house such as mountain biking, white-water rafting, horseback riding, and more. The town is not too far away which is helpful when you need to grab some groceries or go out to dinner at a nice restaurant. People are very nice and helpful and nobody is ever in a rush.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin
There are many benefits while staying at our vacation rental. The silence and privacy are great and the colors around you on the trees and flowers will blow you away. At night, you will be able to see the stars like never before and in the morning you will be awakened by the noise of woodpeckers pecking away. For those sporty types, everything is near. The Nantahala Outdoor Center is practically down the road. There are also beautiful waterfalls to enjoy as well.
Owner's Map of Nantahala
My family and I live in large city in Florida in which there are no mountains whatsoever. We love to go up to North Carolina whenever we have a chance, it is such a beautiful place. The mountains are away from the chaos of highways and trains and is very relaxing. When we go to North Carolina, we experience a peaceful environment like none other.

Amazing Vacation at Carolina Dreaming!

The Carolina Dreaming cabin was without a doubt the best cabin we've rented. The cabin was beautiful, incredibly clean and exactly as described in the listing. In fact, in our opinion, it was even better in person. The pictures here don't do this beautiful place justice. Communication with the owner until our arrival was prompt, courteous and informative, including providing detailed directions to the cabin from the airport and things to do and see in the area. The owner also contacted us on our arrival night. Personalized touches that really impressed us. Everything is wonderfully maintained. We slept soundly each night and woke up & enjoyed the scenery and wildlife from the deck. During our stay we saw chipmunks, wild turkeys, cardinals and blue jays. We enjoyed the hot tub and jacuzzi. When we weren't at the cabin, we went whitewater rafting at Nantahala Outdoor Center and ate at the River's Edge restaurant - highly recommend both! We visited many surrounding cities, including great shopping in Bryson City and drove the Blue Ridge Parkway and thru the Smoky Mountains National Park. And at the end of the day, we couldn't wait to get back to the cabin. It's such a comfortable, peaceful & relaxing place to be. I absolutely recommend this property to couples or families or groups. We plan on returning next year. Thank you owners of Carolina Dreaming for making our vacation amazing and unforgettable. We look forward to visiting again soon.

Our long weekend was just not a long enough stay at this cabin! All had a wonderful, relaxing time, even enjoying the much needed rain! The surroundings were very quiet and peaceful, we enjoyed watching the squirrels, birds and even the turkeys eating seeds from the bird feeders. The cabin was just as portrayed, the owner was very helpful, quickly answering all our questions! We certainly hope to stay again.....

My husband and I were delighted to stay in this pristine cabin in the center of an peaceful yet active area. The cabin, which is just past the Nantahala Outdoor Center, up a winding road, was private away from any intrusions. The cabin itself was beautiful, comfortable, and clean. We were close to the activities we wanted to fill our time with, one day of sightseeing, one day of rafting , and one of mountain biking. We even got a tip to a hiking trail that proved to be the reconnection with nature we needed. The cabin was close to all these things. The property was well maintained with no faulty or jig rigged repairs. It put us right in the center of nature. Yet, it was new and clean enough not to have that "campy" feel. The owner was easy to deal with and followed through on all his commitments. Even thought it was just my husband and and I the cabin could accommodate my whole family or another couple easily. My husband couldn't stop raving about how he was looking forward to bringing back family and friends.

My husband and I stayed here at Carolina Dreaming in June 2011 and will be visiting again as soon as we can. The cabin is conveniently located to the Nantahala Outdoor Center, Bryson City, Cherokee, the Tail of the Dragon and Fontana Lake. The cabin was very clean and well maintained. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, utensils and very nice appliances. I would highly recommend this cabin to my friends, family or anyone looking for a wonderful, peaceful place to stay on their adventures in the area.
Owner response:Booboo, thanks for the nice review, we are always trying to give to our guests the best we have. Very happy have you and your husband at our place. Danny

My husband and I stayed at Carolina Dreaming the 4th weekend in October. The owner of this property is super kind and was quick to respond to any and all questions. The home was perfectly clean and the location very private! We enjoyed some of the activities in the area (horseback riding and whitewater rafting) knowing we could come back and relax in the hot tub overlooking the trees and gorgeous fall colors. Thanks for sharing your great vacation home!

My wife & I just wanted to get away from Charlotte for a weekend. We usually go to the coast but we thought we would head to the mountains, put the top down on the jeep and just enjoy the scenery. We found Danny's cabin on vrbo.com and it was just perfect. It is about 2 miles off the main road and has the wonderful rustic feel and cabin charm that really gives you the feeling of getting away from it all. A short drive to Cherokee, Bryson City and the Blue Ridge Parkway give plenty to do although we may have spent as much time in the hot tub on the deck at riding through the mountains. Danny, thanks again for your hospitality. Andrew & Sheri Charlotte NC

Carolina Dreaming was a great place to stay for a few days of rest and relaxation. The location was great with close proximity to many fun adventures and very easy to get to. The seclusion and quiet natural surroundings were very peaceful and the house very comfortable with modern amenities. The house and yard were clean and well kept and owners very conscientious about the comfort of their guests. Wish we had stayed longer, but look forward to going back!

We spent three nights at Carolina Dreaming and had a fantastic time. The cabin and the area seem to have something for everyone. We were on vacation with our sons (ages 8 and 10), so they loved having their own satellite TV in their bedroom and anytime access to the pool table and foosball table. The spiral staircase leading to their room on the lower level provided a surprising level of excitement that plain old stairs just can't touch :-). We live in South Florida, so it's always a special treat to visit anywhere with hills and elevation. Fortunately, the location of this cabin provides much of both. It's very close to the Nantahala Outdoor Center, where you can go on a whitewater rafting trip (we recommend the guided boat for novice rafters). Bryson City is close enough to get groceries at a "real" grocery store and not worry about the ice cream melting on the way back, but the cabin is remote so you have plenty of privacy and a nice "neighborhood" (even though your nearest neighbor is over 100+ yards away up the hill). We had a great time tubing at Deep Creek which is very affordable and located in the Smoky Mountains National Park just outside Bryson City. Highly recommended if the weather is warm enough. Our boys played in the water for hours even after we took the tubes out. The cabin is a great spot to stay because you feel like you are in the forest, but you're hardly "roughing" it. It has all of the modern amenities you could ask for, is spotlessly clean, has everything very conveniently labeled (how to get the DVD player to work, switch back to satellite, etc.), and lives up to, if not exceeds the expectations we had after seeing the great photos on the website. We've stayed in privately owned vacation homes before, as well as time shares, and this was by far the nicest. You didn't have to worry about getting there and going immediately to the store to spend $50 on dish soap, paper towels, toilet paper, salt and pepper and other things that you have to leave behind because it doesn't make sense to pack them up to take home. Our sons are already wondering when we can go back and we are too. Thanks to Danny for having such a wonderful home available on VRBO!

Carolina dreaming was a awesome place to stay! We enjoyed the cabin, the hiking, the rafting, etc. Cabin was very convenient to everything. Best VRBO owner we have rented from. Mr. Escobar even called us our first night at the cabin to check in and see if we needed anything! Great service!

I have been coming to the nantahala for the last 20 years and Carolina Dreaming has been the best cabin we have ever rented. Up to date. Close to all activities. Private. Great view from the hot tub. Lots of personal touches like the fire pit, flashlights and towels for the hot tub. We have already booked again and are looking at a whole week next summer. I cannot say enough great things about this cabin. Try the zip lines at wildwater adventure company. Depending on which way you travel in, I highly recommend Herb's bbq. It is above the ocoee on the right if your heading toward bryson and murphy.
