Sant'Egidio is an enchanting late 19th century large farmhouse, built on the site of an old medieval Franciscan convent, set in extensive gardens. It has been carefully renovated to preserve many original features such as beautiful beamed ceilings and terracotta floors. It is located at 800 meters, and is immersed in the countryside with unique views of rolling countryside and Lake Trasimeno. San Francesco spent part of his time here in meditation. Still now there is the small church where he used to pray. Walking you can follow traces of the ancient Roman Road down to the cleft below Cortona where St. Francis established a monastery in 1211. Or take your walking stick and circle the mountain's heights, on wooded trails that open to 360-degree views, with viw of the Lake Trasimeno It can sleep up to 6 people, in two bedrooms, and is furnished with antiques in perfect harmony with the exposed ceiling beams and terracotta floors. Many original features have been retained in the house, which is ideal for families or groups of friends. There are 2 bedrooms, one double and one quadruple, which are all spacious with beautiful vaulted chestnut ceilings and terracotta floors. Simple essential furniture with wardrobe in each room.
The house comprised: 3 rooms + 2 bathrooms ( It can sleep up to 6 people): 1° room: Equipped kitchen, with large dining room/living room with open fireplace, long table with chairs and washing machine. There is a corridor with desk and chair which joins the rooms. 2° room: Double bedroom with wardrobe and 2 bedside tables. 3° room: Quad-Bedroom with 1 double bed and 2 single beds with wardrobe. Bathroom with shower. Bathroom with bath-tub. |
