Only 3 minutes drive away, the town of Ocean View has a lovely market with fresh produce, there is a Post Office, video/DVD rentals, gift shop, pizzeria, restaurant, hair/nail salon, health food store and more.
This can be your home base to discover within one hour drive: the famous Punalu'u Black Sands Beach where you may enjoy photographing the protected turtles; catch a rainbow on the loop at Volcano National Park with its giant craters and steam vents right at your feet.
Hike through the awesome Thurston Lava tube; do the wine tour at Volcano Winery and Gift shop, please borrow our boogie boards and play 30 minutes drive at Ho'okeena Beach - a lovely wide sandy beach cove with hot showers and picnic tables that is frequently visited by dolphins!
Sit on the private lanai to watch the sunset light up the entire bank of South Point against the ocean blue or soak privately in the Hot Tub waiting for the stars to come out at night - cocktail in hand - if you like.
