Map & Owner's Profile
Why the Owner Chose Paniolo
We love the North Shore of Kauai which is amazingly green, littered with spectacular waterfalls, blessed with a slow pace, and still somewhat rural. It also has some of the best surf spots and beaches in the world. We were looking for a quiet and peaceful condo on the North Shore within walking distance of the beach and a short jaunt to a variety of surf spots. We also appreciate that is is less than 40 miles from the airport and the town of Lihue.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo
Our condo is in the back of our small complex off of the street. We enjoy sitting on our peaceful lanai with beautiful views of the golf course in the foreground and mountains in the background. Fifteen feet from our lanai, there is a dirt, tree-lined pathway that leads to a relatively secluded beach which we can walk to in about 5 minutes. We can also walk to Princeville shopping center in about 10 minutes and drive to Hanalei bay in less than 10 minutes. We often hang around the lovely pool located 50 feet from the front door of our condo. On Friday afternoons we often drive 5 minutes to the Hanalei Bay Resort to listen to Hawaiian music during happy hour.
Owner's Map of Paniolo
I have been surfing since 1961 and still surf about 200 days per year. I retired from Santa Cruz City Schools in June of 2010. I like to surf, read, garden, and work on projects on the 10 ares where I live in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Paula is also retired and likes reading, a variety of crafts, walking, and the lounging around the tropics (which works for me). We both love to travel.

After my family returned to Seattle, I stayed at this wonderful studio, alone, from Dec 25--Jan 4,1220. This studio was perfect for me because it was safe and quiet. Before that experience,my family and myself all stayed at Pu'u Poa by St Regis Hotel. I must say this studio owned by 2 outstanding people was magical. It was quiet and away from the traffic noise. The birds in the morning would have coffee with me on the lanai which was surrounded by Palm trees and other island plants out looking a beautiful green golf course with such beautiful homes across the way. So I felt secluded but part of this glorious island. It was perfect for me to jump on the path leading down to a secluded beach to watch the magnificent waves and see a few rainbows while I read my book and ventured into the safe water to do a little snorkeling and see beautiful reefs that I guess start there and extend way beyond the walking beach. Besides having everything I needed in this lovely studio, I enjoyed the realization of the oneness we all shared; whether in the pool or walking or just day dreaming and feeling the sun and wind on our faces. I thank you for my experience; for the peacefulness and friendly people I met from staying at your studio. I would recommend this place to all people looking for that special place to feel and breathe the wonderfulness of the island of Kauai. I hope to return soon. MAHALO

This very affordable condo is extremely comfortable and close to so much! We enjoyed our stay here very much and would recommend this condo to anyone looking for a great place to stay. It is just a short walk to town where they have grocery stores, restaurants, shops, etc. I spent a lot of time on the back deck, which has beautiful views of the manicured golf course. It is also only a quick walk to the beach, or a short drive to some very breath-taking beaches. There are a lot of great areas for hiking, sun-bathing, swimming, relaxing, kayaking and shopping very nearby. The condo had everything we needed and we had a very comfortable stay while we were there!

A very affordable place to stay to enjoy the north coast. The condo is clean and quiet. It's a ten minute drive to get to the awesome town of Hanalei where we enjoyed the restaurants/bars and of course, the beach !!! The Anini beach is even closer and even if the views are not as spectacular it is a nice and quiet place to spend the day. We really had a great time in Paniolo and would definitely go back !

This condo is a place to stay at a very reasonable price. It is really close to beautiful Anini beach which we just happened on looking for surf...and it was epic. It's an area where you just want to stay all day...and we did. We fell in love with the north shore and this condo is in a perfect central location. Thanks, I would definately look for your condo again for a future surf trip.

We really enjoyed our 9 night stay in Princeville. The condo is quiet, roomy, and comfortable - it's more spacious than most hotel rooms and at a much better price. The location is ideal and close to many sights on the North Shore. Behind the condo is a walkway to beautiful Anini Beach, and a perfect spot to see the moon rise. We didn't miss the A/C in September- the condo stays cooler inside than outside being on the first floor and well shaded. We enjoyed the pool everyday.

Stayed here for a week in June and thought it was an extremely good value for Princeville (and for Kaua'i in general). Very comfortable bed, good water pressure in bathroom, good size fridge, clean and quiet. Great location on the North Shore; close to all the places you want to see. I enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend the studio.
