Situated on 21 private acres this mountainside property is the perfect headquarters to explore the wonders of Yellowstone Park and the beauty and diversity of Paradise Valley.
The town of Gardiner and the north entrance to Yellowstone are just 16 miles away and the practicality of “day tripping” into the park makes this property a virtual Yellowstone headquarters.
All of Paradise Valley is a natural wonderland with abundant wildlife, world class fly fishing and rugged outdoor experiences, but here in Tom Miner Basin the Paradise Valley experience is at its best.
The property is located on a private road leading up to the base of Dome Mt. (8596 ft.)and provides a truly “off the beaten path” experience. The setting is bursting with wildlife and sits on the migration route of elk herds as they make their way into and out of the high country as the seasons change.
In the colder months it is not uncommon to wake up to large elk herds within 100 feet of the house. All year long the property is home to all types of Montana wildlife and a camera and binoculars are a must. The Yellowstone River and public access to world class fly fishing and white water rafting is three minutes from the gated entrance to the property.
The house is three small bedrooms and two baths and has been specifically outfitted for multi use. With a more practical approach to making the property suitable for families, fisherman and the general outdoors oriented renter, we have outfitted it in a more utilitarian fashion.
Besides the three bedrooms which would sleep a total of six persons, we have furnished both the living room and the den with sleeper couches to add four to the total that the house can sleep. All aspects of the house are completely outfitted for ease of use.
We provide a full laundry room with washer/dryer, detergents and soaps as well as iron & ironing board. We’ve set up the kitchen for every kind of cooking by including complete cookware, a variety of utensils and tableware, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, slow cooker and a basic array of condiments and spices.
High speed internet and a full satellite package on a large flat screen TV will take just enough of the wild out of wilderness to make this a pleasant stay. The exterior of the house features a large, second story three sided wrap around deck with views of Big Horn Peak (9669 ft.) Crystal Cross, Steamboat Peak and the unique perspective of looking down the length of the valley from a slight elevation.
A gas grill and an enclosed fire pit are provided for those that would prefer to cook and sit out as the sun drops behind the surrounding mountains and the valley transform itself into the “Big Sky” legend that is Montana.
The property also contains a five acre fenced pasture for those who are looking for a horse friendly situation and well behaved pets are permitted with advance approval. The property lies within the Gallatin National Forest at 1.75 million acres and bordering Yellowstone National Park at 2.25 million acres, for a combined outdoor playground of nearly 4 million acres.
Within minutes you are deep into the mountains via hiking, bicycling or four wheel drive roads to the highest elevations.
Our intent is to focus on the idea that this property provides a real and practical experience for those wishing to squeeze every last bit of fun and excitement out of one of the most unique and wild areas of this great country.
All furnishings in the house are brand new last year and are NOT upper high end, fancy or overly sensitive items. Everything is of sturdy and practical quality for people who want to USE these accommodations and not worry that something will be knocked over and easily broken by normal activity.
The emphasis is on practical comfort and usability, NOT extraordinary luxury. Stately and luxurious rentals abound throughout the valley and we won’t hold it against you if that is your choice, but if you want practical usability we are the right place.
We are available to help with complete trip planning and to assist in every aspect of making your stay in the valley a memorable one. Whatever your outdoor interests are we can provide concierge services and make arrangements with local outfitters and guides.
