Located in Frankfort on Michigan's fabled West Coast, Serendipity House offers four-season lodging in five suites at the water's edge.
Pack your beach gear and turn right to enjoy Lake Michigan's beaches and spectacular sunsets. Cross the street to start biking on the 26-mile Betsie Trail. Or turn left to enjoy downtown Frankfort's unique shops and restaurants. Then come back for fall colors, winter skiing, and spring awakenings.
The Sandune is adjacent to our other suites, making us especially well-suited for family reunions, wedding parties, or sharing vacations with friends; and we're pet-friendly! Special packages during each season and special prices when you book off-season.
Serendipity House offers relaxation on our big front porch and a chance to enjoy the passing parade. Moving upstairs, the Sandune Suite offers a front bedroom with a queen bed and the bath just across the hallway.
Down the hallway is the living room and adjacent kitchen and dining area with the larger bedroom that sleeps four guests at the rear of the suite. A fold-out sofa bed in the living room provides accommodation for two more guests. Off the kitchen is a private entrance and balcony with stairs leading to parking or on to the beach.

Year Purchased: 2007
Tim Bannister has owned a marketing consulting firm since 1986, as well as gaining experience in renovating and managing historical properties. Acquiring and updating Serendipity House, which was built in 1890 by a ship captain, has kept his passion intact.
Why the Owner Chose Frankfort
Tim's family had been vacationers along Lake Michigan since the mid-'50s and tried their hand at resort ownership in the area. After the sale of the resort, Tim chose to carry on the family tradition, offering guests the opportunity to experience Serendipity House and Frankfort's unique charm.

Serendipity House's wonderful location on Main Street a block from Lake Michigan provides for a people-watching opportunity from the big front porch, as a passing parade of sunbathers head to the beach. And being only a block from the beach makes it easy to grab a beach chair and join them...
