Daniel the home owner was very helpful in providing info and tips. He was easily reachable by phone and email. The care taker Sam was great - helpful and available whenever. Daniels recommendations were all good - especially for Coral Divers and the owner Geni. We did a Mayan ruins tour to Lamani (highly recommended) and a couple of snorkeling trips with Geni and his staff - they were the best and you should check them out for sure!! The house accommodations were ok. We rented the whole house for a week for 6 adults. It's minimally stocked with very simple accommodations (older furniture, the most basic kitchen - had wifi though). We are the type that would rather have a simple house though than the fancy resort. You get to experience more at a home, like the delicious tamales and breakfast burritos that are sold off of a bicycle at 9am most mornings :) Overall I'd recommend the house, the only complaints were the futon and hide a bed were not comfortable, all the pillows were super flat and the kitchen knives were dull as spoons (we cooked in and tried to make salsa...).

Nirvana is right on the beach and the views from the windows and balcony are gorgeous. The house is beautiful, well stocked and nicely furnished. Sam, the caretaker, was always close by and willing to buy us groceries, etc. when we needed them. We took advantage of the incredible diving and snorkeling the island has to offer, and the divemaster, Geni, was only a short walk away, which was very convenient. His crew knows the sea, and the most interesting places to visit on land, and they're magicians when it comes to preparing sea food. The house is within walking distance of restaurants and resorts, but it's far enough away for the evenings spent on the balcony stargazing to be filled with the sound of the surf, rather than music. The open floor plan was nice, and the sleeping accommodations were all very comfortable. Excellent, spacious vacation home, and we plan to use it again.

Great family vacation

We took our 4 adult children for a Thanksgiving vacation in Belize. The house was perfect for us because it is actually two houses with a 2 bedroom, kitchen and living room downstairs for the kids and a 1 bedroom, kitchen and living room upstairs for the wife and I. Perfect. There is no real beach. The area is great for fishing and easy to take a kayak out for snorkeling but not good swimming. There is a dock next door to go one diving and fishing trips. Geni the dive master/fishing guide/tour boat operator picks you up upon arrival to the island and takes you to the house. He has several boats and a great team of employees. We went on a snorkel trip and a fishing trip with them. Their office is two doors down. These guys are all great and we even paid one of them to get us Lobsters for Thanksgiving dinner...way better than turkey! There is a guy called "the tamale guy" that rides his bike by the house at about 9am. He is not to be missed. We ate chicken tamales and burritos for breakfast nearly every day. You can also special order beef, fish or lobster. All are very good. The house is remote which is both good and bad. If you are there for shopping or nightlife you may want to stay in town, we were not. There is a small but efficient grocery store and several restaurants and bars in walking distance. We rented a golf cart from Cholo's for the week. The road to from town is an adventure but you get access to a lot of places with the cart. Don't miss the Lazy Croc and the Palapa Bar...skip dinner at Captain Morgan's. In town don't miss El Fugon and the jerk chicken shack. If you plan to rent a cart we highly recommend Cholo's. While we were there, the day we planned to go to town the bridge was closed for road work and no one knew how long it was going to be closed. I called Cholo's and they picked us up at the bridge and give us a second cart to use in town for no cost, they even brought me a gas can so I could re-fuel my cart. Great people. The best part of Belize is the people.

my friends and i had such a great time. the views are worth the trip alone. some of us took advantage of the 3rd floor sun deck relaxing in the rays, and some of us enjoyed snorkeling from the boat dock. san pedro is definitely a divers paradise! geni and his crew are top notch. they took us diving, snorkeling, to play with some sharks, set up cave tubing, a night dive. they made everyone feel comfortable even some of my friends that stayed at coco beach enjoyed using them over the resort. our only draw back from the stay is the home is about 40 minutes from the town so if your plan on an extended stay rent a golf cart. the house comes with bikes but the journey to town is too far. we all enjoyed nirvana and are planning another trip to san pedro for 2012.

Wow! Vacation of a Lifetime

We stayed 9 days/8 nights at this beautiful locale and can't wait to go back. The Nirvana San Pedro Beach House was the ideal setting for our tropical, sun drenched, water sports holiday. We stayed on the lower level of the home and were pleasantly surprised at how perfect this charming space was for our needs. Not only was the home beautiful and spacious, but the caretaker was totally attentive to making sure we had all the necessities. The location is perfect for access to quaint restaurants, a short bike ride or water taxi to the charming town of San Pedro, or any type of snoreling/diving excursions you might desire. The warm caribbean breeze washing over us as we relaxed in the evening hours on the outdoor patio was absolutely fabulous and a perk I will not soon forget!

A Perfect Vacation

I stayed at Nirvana House in late July with my wife and two teenagers. The house has plenty of room. It's clean with plenty of amenities - wifi, cable TV, etc. There is an awesome view. It's nice to just sit on the porch and take in the island breeze and sunset, but there's plenty to do in and around Ambergris Caye and the mainland. Daniel has amazing people that will take care you. The caretaker, Sam, is always available if you need help. Genie of Coral Divers arranged all of our tours. Genie, his brother Chris and Joel (mainland tours) were simply great. Good people and great tour guides. The end result of all of these nice people working together was a perfect family vacation.

Wonderful vacation at Nirvana Beach House

We had a wonderful time in Belize. The house was great, very comfortable with the constant ocean breezes. Sam was very attentive and Genie made everything easy. The diving and snorkeling were amazing. We also enjoyed a day at Lamanai visiting the ruins. This proved to be a totally relaxing vacation in paradise. We also enjoyed at a great dinner out at Las Terrmes (? spelling). Overall it was all great! If we ever return to Belize, we will definitely return to Nirvana. You are lucky to have such a wonderful place.

The house was very spacious, and clean. The local land line and Wi-fi were a big help. The care taker of the house was very kind and helpful. We all enjoyed out time in San Pedro. I would rent this house again.

We had an awesome time in Casa Nirvana. This is a great rental property. It was spacious and clean and the views from the porches are fantastic. The caretaker was very attentive to our need. It is a perfect place for anyone looking to go scuba diving as it is very close to the reef and the owner of a dive business is a few houses down and is very good at organizing all of your dive/excursion needs. It was like having a personal concierge for the week. He even organized taxi rides into town when we needed them. This was really great to have! This end of the island is very quiet and there is not a lot of traffic. It is somewhat inconvenient if you plan on going into town a lot.... if that is the case, you may want to rent a golf cart.... but if you want to relax without stress it is perfect. The owner is very easy to reach via email or phone. There are 4 bikes and a sea kayak on the property which you can use.. it was really nice to have these amenities. My only other negative comment would be that the furniture is getting a little shabby. I have rented a lot of beach houses in the past and it seems to be on par with others I have rented. It think these types of rental properties just tend to get a lot of wear and tear. Overall we had a fantastic vacation and I would definitely recommend this property.

Very spacious and comfortable

Stayed the week of Dec. 27, 2010 - Jan. 3, 2011. The house was very large, in a great location, with beautiful views, right on the water, with lots of nearby activities and restaurants and looks exactly as pictured. We especially enjoyed the kayaking to the reef in the kayak that belongs to the house. There are 3 very large verandas with a relaxing hammock. From the top widow's walk deck you can see for miles and also see the lagoon behind the house. The dive master next door was extremely helpful and personable. He went above and beyond expectations when he took us fishing, diving, and to the mainland to see the Mayan Ruins and cave tubing for a day. He also arranged a trip to the Blue Hole for diving and snorkeling. One of the most fun things about Ambergris Caye is riding around the island in golf carts, which is the main mode of transportation. Sam, the caretaker and Geni, the dive master were very helpful in finding us a golf cart to rent because the island was very busy and full the week we were there. Some of our favorite restaurants and bars we enjoyed were the Palapa Bar, the Rendezvous, Captain Morgan's (especially for breakfast). Another favorite in the town of San Pedro is Fido's Bar and Grill, which is right on the beach with live music and great gift shops. The owner, Daniel was great about answering our questions and always very quick to respond!

Beautiful ocean views! We (5 adults) enjoyed this spectacular ocean front property. The home is clean,comfortable and well maintained. It has 3 large verandas to enjoy the spectacular view of the reef right out in front of the property. You could snorkel and fish right off the beach. The caretaker,Sam was very helpful and could assist us in all our needs-he takes pride in his work and it shows. A dive master lives close by and is very skillful. We travel often and this has been one of our favorites! We will return soon and enjoy the comforts of NIRVANA~ Sandy

This place is spectacular! You can enjoy 3 large virandas(porches)to enjoy the beautiful ocean view. The home and entire property is clean,comfortable and very well maintained. This was the perfect place for us and we will return. The property's caretaker,Sam takes pride in his work and it shows. He is right next door and will assist you in our needs-very much a gentleman and respectful-he was a great help. We also had a great guide Genie, who lined up snorkeling,fishing,diving,ect....He even cooked the 5 of us and friends a wonderful lobster,seafood dinner our last night on the island. We travel frequently and believe me this place is a nice rental. Daniel the owner is very helpful making your stay enjoyable! We loved it here~

Wow! What a view of the reef from this place! This is truly a get away from it all vacation rental. We enjoyed spending our time with our close friends and enjoyed the best food on the island just down the road.

I stayed at you Nirvana San Pedro Beach House twice so far. It was an idyllic base in a fantasyland of islands, jungles, Mayan ruins, creole culture, tropical weather, and a spectacular blue ocean teaming with life. I enjoyed doing my own cooking there, depended on its air conditioning, but was a pioneer before you got wifi internet (I would have save a lot of time on the slow internet down the road otherwise). I have fond memories of playing music on the docks at sunset and of spying the travels of a particular hermit crab. Your assistant Sammy is a wonderful, kind man who was absolutely essential for me making sense of how to enjoy my stay in this foreign utopia without a car. Thanks!

I loved the house is was so comfortable. It had all the amenities that I needed. The furniture was so cozy I did not want to go home. The views from the balcony were great I could see fish in the water. I loved waking up to the sunshine over the sea. I can not wait to go back to the house. The dive master next door took wonderful care of me. Also the caretaker Sam was always looking after us.

I have stayed at the house on 2 occasions last June 2009 and August of 2008 each time for a week. I found the accommodations excellent and location and scenery unbelievable . The local area offers a a grocery store ,rental of golf carts and wonderful restaurants.. The inside of the rental house offers a spectacular open high bay setting and excellent furnishings and amenities.

I have been in San Pedro many different times, and my best experience has been in this house (Nirvana, San Pedro). The view in this house is spectacular, the beach is very peaceful and private. If you are into scuba diving, San Pedro has the most gorgeous site to dive. The care taker is the typical belizian man, polite and available to help. The master diver very skill and responsible. I will recommend this Beach House to anyone looking for a peaceful and wonderful ocean view.
