Yes, my husband's review is listed below, and while I agree with everything he said, I just had to add more...I had very high expectations of this house. And every one of the expectations was blown away. This house MADE our vacation. It was a luxurious get-away, private and fully stocked with everything we needed to not worry about a thing (soaps, laundry stuff, shampoo, spices/cooking oils, etc.). We wanted to snorkel, swim, eat, drink and rest. This house made it so easy we almost didn't want to leave and when we were exhausted from a great day of amazing snorkeling, we didn't feel any need to drive somewhere or get out...we felt drawn to the ocean view, the sweet infinity pool and "our house." We had the coincidental luck of being in the house while the owner was in the apartment for a day -- we found her advice via email and in person is like having the best Curacao travel-agent you could wish for. Thanks, Cheryl for sharing your passion for Curacao, your great advice -- and best of all -- for being willing to rent this house that made us feel like we were living in Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous :)! The two very best beaches we found in Curacao are two of the closest to the house: Playa Porto Mari and Cas Abao. You will not find many other places closer to both.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

We stayed at Flamingo Villa for a week in late May, 2012. The house is everything advertised and more, with a breathtaking view of the sea from the pool. The picture looks nice, but the real thing is jaw-dropping. The house sits above other houses in the development, allowing for an unobstructed 180-degree ocean view that stretches to the horizon. The house is as advertised, three spacious bedrooms, two huge full bathrooms, and a very well-appointed kitchen. There is also an apartment attached but separate from the main house if you need more space. In addition, the kitchen is well-stocked with the pots, pans, plates, glasses, and anything else you would need to cook all your meals in. We had all of our breakfasts and a couple of dinners at the house. If you'd like, you can arrange with the property manager to have food delivered for your arrival for a modest fee, so that the basics are there for you with zero hassle. The house is also well-located for the beaches on the west side of the island. One of our favorites was less than 10 minutes away door-to-sand. There are another dozen beaches within a 20 minute drive, including the major dive sites, as well as several restaurants a short drive away. Our typical day was a morning at the beach, lunch at the beach restaurant, another couple of hours swimming and snorkeling, then home to the villa to clean up for dinner. Our favorite restaurant is part of the gated community that includes the house, and is a short drive down the hill. The above-mentioned property manager (guten tag Heidi!) lives a stone's throw from the house, just in case any issues arise. We had none. She stopped by to clean the house midway through our visit, and provided some tourist advice along with fresh towels, sheets, and beach towels. My only, very small issue with the house was the small washing machine. I assume this is a factor of electricity and water. It worked fine (as did the dryer, dishwasher, wireless Internet, coffee maker and cable TV). I had to think pretty hard to come up with that "problem". After a week, we were ready to stay for another week!Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This place was amazing! The pictures don't do it justice. The place was so relaxing! Pool, hammocks, huge kitchen. It was located outside the town center but it's everything that we wanted in a vacation. The property was well-maintained and clean. I would recommend this property to anyone. If you are looking for a place to walk out your door and walk to restaurants, then don't book. If you are looking for a nice quiet place to relax and sit around the patio and have long leisurely meals, or BBQ's then this is the place for you. We didn't feel comfortable driving at night into Willamstead because of the distance but if you would like to take day trips and then have dinner before you come back for the evening that worked too. We made good use of the huge kitchen and BBQ. It was a great place to hang up the car keys, have a few drinks, watch the sun set, then go for a midnight swim in the pool under the stars.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We were very pleased with our stay at this location. The pictures are accurate but do not account for the overwhelming peaceful feeling of actually being there. We felt right at home. I took my 3 month old and was pleasantly surprised at the accommodations made on his behalf. The security on the property helped me to feel very safe and secure. We spent the majority of our time on the patio with the hammocks, the pool, and the spectacular view of the ocean. We have never had a better setting to watch the sunset. All of the amenities were in excellent condition. The beds were really comfy as well as the couches. Heidi was always available and very helpful. We mostly ate at home since the kitchen and grill were so handy. Sol Food is one place that is a must to have lunch or dinner! We were disappointed to find that the Habitat was closed because it was so close and we had heard great things. The diving and snorkeling is really great, Alice in Wonderland was my favorite. I highly recommend this location for anyone looking to stay in Curacao and will return if given the opportunity.Recommended for: People with disabilities, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Flamingo Villa is probably the best villa rental on the entire island. The view from the veranda is awesome....the accommodations nothing less than perfect. The kitchen is well stocked with every dish and cooking utensil you could want. The bedrooms are so totally comfortable and the bathrooms are spacious. This villa lacks absolutely nothing....oh yes, the infinity edge pool is so relaxing. While the villa is a short drive out of Willemstad, it's easy to find your way around the island. Also the location of the villa provides easy access to every part of the island. What a perfect place!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

My husband and I, along with another couple just returned from a week at Flamingo Villa. The pictures of this house are beautiful, but in person we were completely blown away. The house has the most amazing view and layout that we needed to tear ourselves away and force ourselves to go exploring throughout the island. The house is situated about 30 minutes from the downtown area which was an easy drive for dinner out a few nights. The house is also located very close to a bunch of very nice small beaches on the western side of the island. We especially enjoyed lounging around on the hammocks, listening to the wonderful sound system, and dipping in the pool. This was a very relaxing vacation! We found the people of Curacao extremely friendly and would not hesitate to recommend Flamingo Villa to anyone.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This being our second trip to Flamingo Villa, we knew what we should expect at the villa. Unfortunately we were greeted by Heidi with the fact that there had been a problem with the water. She also added the problem had been going on for the three previous days. We had experienced one day on the previous trip and dealt with it. Since this was going on well before our arrival we should have been contacted before we arrived to see what options we might have had. It was necessary to keep buckets of water from the pool to flush the toilets and purchase cases of water for drinking We only had water for an entire day on Thursday. We're going back to Curacao, just not to Flamingo Villa.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Flamingo Villa has set a new standard for our group by which we will judge all future accomodations. As 6 divers we admittedly splurged a bit on lodging budget over what we usually spend, but the pictures on the website made us fall in love. There are not a lot of restaurants nearby like we are used to in Bonaire, but the restaurant at Habitat just down the hill from Flamingo was fantastic and other nights we popped in to the California Supermarket picked up some kabobs or steaks to throw on the large grill on the backporch and just enjoyed the wonderful view from Flamingo. We rented just the top floor for 3 couples and Heidi (the housekeeper and cook-for-hire) should be commended for keeping the place in great shape. Flamingo is in the gated community of Coral Estates which is beautiful as a whole, but we were glad to be several blocks back from the ocean and UP the hill for several reasons. The view is first reason, the pictures on seen on the web are not professional or retouched - the view from the porch or in the infinity pool is really that wonderful. The second reaon, and possibly even more important to some, is the lack of bugs. We left the front and back doors open every minute we were there and always had a cooling, bug-free, strong breeze. Whenever we went down to Habitat and ate on the water there were little flies and when we traveled to Westpunt resorts to dive everyone complained about mosquitos...we had no nasty bugs at our elevation. I cannot thank Cheryl (one of the owners) enough for all her emails and the massive amounts of travel info and tips she sent us beforehand. All her recommendations helped us plan well and make the most of our week in her fantastic home. If you are used to condos and apartments like we were, Flamingo will leave you feeling spoiled rotten...but then again, that's kinda the point of a vacation, right ?? :)Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The house did not disappoint! That view you see on the web site is the real thing and it gets better in person. So many places don't live up to the hype, but we all felt FV did. The website was accurate regarding location. While it's not necessarily easy to find for the first time, we made it without getting lost. The directions might work in the daytime, but at night, when we got there, some landmarks were not visible. We had gone on Google Maps and familiarized ourselves with the route and printed it out, which helped a lot. FV was very clean and well-maintained. The Property Manager, Don, was extremely helpful and nice. Often in the afternoons we would decide to forego any tourist activities in favor of just coming back to the house and hanging out--it's that good. We cooked at least half the nights we were there. The Centrum Market is about 20 minutes away and it has everything you need. Other markets are closer but don't have the selection. If you like good scuba diving, made easy and affordable, go to Porto Mari, about 10 minutes max from the house. The dive shop folks are extremely nice and helpful, the gear good, the beach entry as easy as can be, and the reefs and sealife beautiful! When you're done, there's a full restaurant and bar right there. We loved Shete Boca National Park. It is spectacular. Lanterna Restaurant is great, as is Oceans (which is right down the hill on the water--2 minutes from the house), also great is Steak and Ribs in Willemstad. The markets and shops in Punda and Otra Banda are fun too. We would recommend FV to anyone! The house is truly spectacular, the views unforgettable. It made the trip! The place exudes class and luxury. Note: be careful on the poolside tiles when they get wet as they are slippery. Don't mess with the Iguanas............they have attitude.....Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We just returned from Flamingo Villa in Curacao in January with 8 of our friends. The week was outstanding, but we all agreed a week was not long enough. The villa met all of our needs. It's a beautiful property with an outstanding view. Don, the property manager was very helpful with things to see and do. We also found the location to be a plus. The dive shop is 2 minutes away along with a great restaurant at Habitat Curacao. A nice touch which Cheryl, Dave, and Chela arranged at our request, was having Heidi prepare our dinner two of the evenings we were there. This worked out great for the minimal additional cost. This was arranged directly with Heidi. What a great chef. If you're into diving the area for rinsing dive gear was a great thought when designing the house. Between the ten of us we really couldn't think of anything we would change. We will be back.Owner response: Thank you for your very kind and informative review. It was a pleasure having your party of 10 stay with us and found our accommodations fit your needs. We were so glad that our private in-house chef worked out, allowing the birthday celebration to be relaxing and fun. We look forward to welcoming you back to Flamingo Villa! CDC ~

We had a great time. The house is spacious, in a great, quiet location. Diving and beach are down the road. The owner are very nice and attentive from giving tips before heading to Curacao, making sure all is good while there through following up after the stay. Highly recommend. If you stay in a house like this, you would never want to stay in a hotel or resort again!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 4/4
