Corner View of Hawthorne House - Nanaimo Vacation Rentals Bright and open 3 bedroom and den main level of home in lovely quiet neighborhood close to downtown Nanaimo and Nanaimo Parkway. Great location to use as a hub to explore what Vancouver Island has to offer. Close to Vancouver Island University, Nanaimo Aquatic Centre, Nanaimo Ice Centre, Parks, Trans Canada Trail and Parkway Trail for walking/biking/jogging. It is close to the Nanaimo Parkway for easy access up and down the island and not far from downtown. This nicely furnished home has everything you will need. The well equipped kitchen has all appliances including a coffeemaker, toaster, blender, and Panini maker. The family room has a gas fireplace, cable TV with DVD player and lots of board games. The spacious master bath has a separate shower and tub and double sinks. Comfortable furnishings and an ample supply of towels and linens make this home an enjoyable retreat. There is a nice bright patio with a barbeque and furniture for relaxing and enjoying the evening sun in your home away from home. The Hawthorne neighborhood is a block away from the Buttertubs Marsh Conservation area and bird sanctuary and easy trail system. The trail system is paved and tree-lined and is ideal for long-distance cyclists and joggers or even a leisurely stroll. This midpoint in the trail system leads to Colliery Dam and Chase River Estuary Park to the south, Nanaimo Lakes, Morell Sanctuary and Westwood Lake swimming beach to the west, Parkway Trail to Brannen and Green Lake to the North, and Bowen Park with it's petting zoo and the Harbourfront Walkway with Swy-a-Lana Lagoon Park in downtown Nanaimo and Beach Estates Park to the West. Take a day and explore each way. Make sure to check out the Wild Play Park at Nanaimo Lakes including aerial adventure courses, bungy jump, king swing and zip lines. For waterskiing and wakeboarding Brannen Lake is the local hotspot. Tide pools and thousands of baby crabs at the ocean lagoon steps at Swy-a-Lana Park are worth exploring. If exploring by car Nanaimo Parkway is less than 5 minutes away and will get you quickly to the north or south on Vancouver Island. There is also an upper one bedroom suite with queen available by the week for $600 or 1500 for the entire month. This can be connected to the main floor of the house for additional accomodation or rented separately.
