This home is exceptional! Pleanty of space, beautifully finished (as described) and a fantastic yard for the kids to play and for the adults to relaxing. Superb location, great parks nearby and easy acess to downtown. Very quiet. We had everything we needed and the owners were available if we needed, so glad that we found this gem. Highly recommended for families as we had 4 adults and 2 kids with no shortage of space! Thanks for some great memories.

We have stayed at many homes around the world listed with VRBO and while all have been lovely, this is by far the best equipped home ever. The home is actually more beautiful than the pictures and gives you a feeling of "home away from home" from the time you enter thru the front door. Two of our little ladies were 6 years old and the other two were 9. They loved the big screen TV, movies, games, comfy furniture, having their own bedrooms & bath, etc. Every room in the house was fully equipped with anything we could ever need. They especially loved the Aquatic Centre which is only a few blocks away. We spent part of 3 days enjoying the indoor pool, water slides, lazy river and wave pool. A visit to Protection Island, the only floating restaurant in North America, was very enjoyable. Great food but the service left much to be desired. The girls enjoyed the boat trip and fishing from the end of the restaurant. Thanks so much for helping create wonderful memories to last a lifetime. We will certainly recommend your home to all of our family and friends.

Beautiful Home in Nice Neighborhood

Having a beautiful and very comfortable home to stay in made our vacation in Nanaimo most enjoyable. The house was very modern and clean. We had a large group of 9 (3 adults, 4 teens, 2 children), so we rented the separate suite in addition to the main house. There was plenty of room for all. Our teens loved hanging out together in the separate suite, watching DVDs and playing games on the big screen TV! We cooked several meals in the well-equipped, and well-stocked kitchen. The owners attended to every detail prior to our visit, and made sure we had everything we needed. We had a good night's rest on very comfortable bedding, and there were plenty of linens, and even beach towels for all! The house was in an ideal location. We took the BC Ferry from Vancouver, and arrived in Nanaimo at the Departure Bay Terminal. The house was just minutes away from the terminal and near downtown. The market, drugstore, Starbucks, 7-Eleven, were an easy drive, so getting our food and supplies was very convenient. Our two seven-year olds, and the teens had a great time at the Nanaimo Aquatic Center, which is just a short walk from the house! They spent a few hours there playing in the wave pool, and on the water slides. The teens liked working out in the on-site gym, and spent some time relaxing in the sauna room. The owners were very gracious and helpful, and accommodated our last minute requests. We loved the house, and would highly recommend this rental to anyone!

Just back from our stay at Hawthorn house and had a wonderful time. The house is beyond amazing and it has everything you need and so much more. The owners have thought of every little detail and even my folks were wondering if they could move in permanently ! Would recommend this to all - its the perfect home from home !

Beautiful accommodation - very clean, modern, brand new neighbourhood, safe, view of the mountains in nicely landscaped the backyard! All top notch - fluffy towels, nice sheets, great kitchen appliances - right down to a mortar and pestle for grinding the many spices available for our delicious fresh seafood dinners! (Live spot prawns at the harbour.....yum!!) Easy transaction...all questions answered. Must drive to Goats on the Roof and Cathedral Grove!

Excellent accommodations! I stayed in the upper level suite and it was beautifully furnished, comfortable, and clean. Everything I needed was included from the pots and pans to the dishes, to linen and towels. After living in Nanaimo for almost a year, I can say without a doubt that this is one of the best accommodations you will find in town. The neighborhood is a safe and quiet residential area, but still close to downtown and VIU. The owners were great as well – extremely nice and responsive. It is clear that they put a lot of care into this property.

Gorgeous accommodations & much appreciated "doing business" with you. So nice to be able to add my brother and family on such short notice. Contrast of Medicine Hat & Vanc. Isle is huge for them. Wii a huge bonus for the kids! Could very well move to the island someday. A cycling, running, swimming paradise for me with blackberries in season to boot! Highly Recommendable, 10/10. Duane S. Truly a home away from home! Enjoyed lots of shopping and sights in Nanaimo. Spent afternoons in the backyard blowing bubbles. Evening matches of tennis & bowling provided lots of laughs. We'll be back for more! Thank you The C's

In Nanaimo we enjoyed a walk in Swy-a-lana Lagoon Park , eating linch on the water at Tro;;ey's and strolling through the many used bookstores downtown. We really enjoyed our day at Coombs Country Market that also included a short hike around Qualicum Falls. We also went to Cowichan Bay and spent the afternoon whale watching. We have enjoyed spending family time out on the patio and some good BBQ's at the house. We have enjoyed it very much! Thank you
