Laid back and restful

My husband and I, along with our three teenagers/young adults, stayed here for a week in mid-July 2011. It was a little tricky to find due to the street name being different than what the owners gave us. Apparently, we learned from a neighbor later in the week that the the original street is now under water. It was nearing dusk, and we were very lucky just to "happen" across the house. The house is small, but very cozy and comfortable. The owners provide everything you could possibly need, other than laundry detergent. Although, please do not plan to do laundry, as the washer and dryer were tiny apartment size, and the dryer took at least six cycles to dry anything. The view from the patio is gorgeous and we loved sitting outside on the large patio. We were very disappointed in the fact that the lower level, which is the living room and kitchen has no air conditioner (which we were not told about). Temps that week were in the 100's. However, the a/c upstairs where the bedrooms are worked beautifully and the temps were perfect for sleeping. The master bedroom only had a double bed (no box spring) and you felt as though you were swaying when you got into bed. Beaches within walking distance both directions were nice, but the owners did not give us directions how to get there and we had to ask around from people in the neighborhood. They are both "hidden" in places you would never think to look. All in all, we had a nice time even though it was miserably hot. Too hot to cook (with no air conditioner), but if you go anytime other than summer, it would be very nice. The owner was not very responsive to emails, which I found to be frustrating, but we booked at last minute and this was all we could find. After staying here, I could understand why the owners did not put very many photos on their website. The part we loved though was the location. It was close to everything and just a couple blocks from the highway, although the neighborhood seemed a bit sketchy.
Recommended for:Age 55+.

Our family stayed here in July, it was wonderful! Such a beautiful view and such nice neighbors. The home is spacious and has everything you need! Would definately love to come back.
Recommended for:Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children.
