Lake Latoka is a quiet 780 acre, 110 foot deep lake with over 15 foot clarity (that means it's really clear and beautiful!) and it is just minutes from downtown Alexandria with over 100 antique and unique shopping opportunities and the chain of lakes. Lake Latoka, a quiet residential community, offers almost eight hundred acres of pristine water. One can enjoy water skiing, jet skiing, swimming, and some of the best fishing Minnesota has to offer. Lake Latoka is one of the best Walleye lakes in the state, according to the StarTribune. You can fish off the dock, try out the golf courses just minutes away, spend a day at the vineyards or just enjoy the peace and quiet. Explore the paved and picturesque 55 mile Central Lakes Bike Trail.

  • We cannot say enough good about this beautiful log cabin. We LOVE it. The cabin is homey, comfortable and decorated perfectly. I love cooking in the kitchen while gazing out the enormous window overlooking the lake. The lake is so clear and we love boating and fishing everyday. Our kids love it and we are building memories that will last a life time.

  • This was the 'gem' we were hoping for. Our stay at Valkommen could not have been better. The home, comforts and amenities were priceless. It was more than we had hoped for. Our family of 6 enjoyed the lake for both recreation and fishing. We rented a pontoon for a week and took in all the beautiful scenery on wonderful Lake Latoka. Margaret is amazing and the quality of your experience starts and ends with her. We will be back next year!!

  • We were so happy with our choice to stay at Valkommen Cabin! The amenities were all first rate, from the down pillows & linens to the silver and stoneware. We felt like we were surrounded by luxury, in a good friend's home! The lake was amazing, so clean and clear. My husband and son enjoyed some great fishing, catching several walleye (one was seven pounds), many bass and other pan fish. The cabin is so close to the lake, and the view is incredible. We loved the gazebo, with its simple, yet elegant decor (the chandelier was over the top), eating dinner most nights there. We will be back!

  • Our 4th of July week at Valkommen Cabin was outstanding! The log cabin has a cozy, home like feeling..very comfortable. We enjoyed eating dinner and playing cards in the screened gazebo. We had a great time fishing walleyes, northern, and bass. The small side of the lake was great if the big lake is too windy. .cabin is close to the lake and to the boat landing. No hesitation, we’ll be back.

  • We enjoyed a wonderful week at this beautiful cabin. The lake is fabulous and the fishing is incredible! The cabin had every amenity we could wish for. (The beds are so comfortable and the nights were so peaceful. What a treat!) We also loved the fact that we were close to the lake. We will definitely return...it is paradise!
