"MT Mansfield Farm" is likely Stowe's nicest large rental property and is ideally located at Stowe Mountain Resort with mountain views in 3 directions. This newer 8 bedroom, 4 bathroom home sleeps 24 is Stowes only 4 season rental rental with horses(Clydesdales) on the property and it is 400 yards from the closest ski lift. A 5000 square foot home it doubles as a spa with a indoor sauna, outdoor hot tub and small gym. "MT. Mansfield Farm" is decorated with inside/out with dozens of classic New England antiques with a great room, kitchen w/2 cooking areas and dining room decorated in a flyfishing theme with combined seating for 20. Each of the 8 bedrooms have names on the door and are beautifully and uniquely decorated in that theme. They include Maple Sugar Shack(4 beds), Jackson Hole, Coyote Den, Green Mountain Bunkhouse(6 beds), Cape Cod, St.Mere Eglise(French), Sir Lancelots Lair etc..

This home with its country entrance of wagon wheels and wooden rail fence is the only horse ranch rental in Stowe complete with Clydesdales, German Hanoverians, horse drawn carriages often in the field/barn. The property borders Stowe's largest river and is across from the MT. Mansfield Cross Country Ski center/Von Trapp Famiy protected land for 50 miles of hiking, biking, jogging and snowshoeing. We are on Stowe's free winter bus shuttle route. Well trained pets are accepted. As a courtesy to our guests the owner makes available snowshoes and sleds. This property is generally considered the most authentic, complete and best located large rental property in Stowe. The owner stays on the property in a seperate caretaker apartment with seperate/private entrance/exit for the care, feeding, watering and exercising of all the horses. New technology smoke/carbon monoxide detectors installed to meet State of VT 2009 regulations.

  • In all respects, this is a great ski house. We came up with 8 work colleagues and had an absolute blast. The proximity to the mountain is perfect, and the house is less than a mile from the Matterhorn – a great apres ski place at Stowe. All in all, I would definitely come back with a group of friends or family, no questions asked.

  • This home and its location, right at Stowe Mountain Resort, is terrific. My wife and our extended family have stayed here two winters in a row and loved each visit. You cannot beat the location of the house being right at the base of MT. Mansfield. It has MT. views in a couple directions and is on the main road leading to Stowe village. The large living room is very cozy with its wood burning stove and it has windows looking right at the mountain and the horses in the yard. The owner let our family feed the horses each day which was a real treat for the kids, especially our girls. The kitchen has two cooking areas(we had 18 in our group) and an attached country dining room. The Jacuzzi on the back deck and Sauna downstairs are a bonus after skiing etc. There are eight bedrooms decorated in different country/regional themes(France/Wyoming/Vermont etc....) which was a hit with our wives. We put the snow-shoes on one day(we had never done this before) and went on the cross country ski trails right outside the house. What a great group thing to do and its free.... We will definitely be back again next year and we highly recommend this property to others.

  • Can't beat the proximity to Stowe Mountain for skiing. We have rented here a few times with a friend's family. The set up is great for families. The kids love feeding the horses. There is plenty to do for non-skiers too with snowshoes available to renters and a hot tub with a view of Stowe.
