Marigny-Bywater bed and breakfast description
This stunning and eclectic inn is available as either a whole house rental OR individual suites. It is the perfect accommodation for a couple getaway, family vacation/reunion, ladies weekends and for a convenient Staycation.
Located in the eclectic Bywater neighborhood, the inn is just far enough off the beaten track to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of New Orleans without the commotion of Bourbon Street. The Lookout has four whimsically themed spacious suites, each with their own generous private bathrooms.
Suites are complete with complimentary wifi, Directv, coffee makers and mini refrigerators. Inground saltwater pool, spa, BBQ and seating cabana are located in the lush outdoor area.
Guests have the choice of 4 individually themed rooms: Mardi Gras, Bollywood, Elvis and Mission. Describing each in detail would ruin any surprise or fun! Each suite is complete with a queen sized bed; 3 of the 4 suites also include sleeper sofas.
Enjoy a laid back, peaceful atmosphere filled with character and charm in this beautiful, historic New Orleans neighborhood. Our location is approximately 2 miles from the edge of the French Quarter and is the perfect distance to a ride a bike into town or take the No. 5 bus which picks up half a block away. Driving? No problem and street parking is available right outside The Lookout. Should you decide to rent a bicycle, we partner with a very reputable company that will deliver bikes to our inn!
Nearby you can experience some great bars, live music and terrific eats and many will find some great conversation with the locals.
There is simply no better place to enjoy New Orleans zest for living than The Lookout.

The Lookout Inn is the perfect place to stay in NOLA! A short bike ride to all the craziness and sight seeing with a tranquil backyard that we enjoyed midday and evening. The saltwater pool and hot tub is amazing and we took advantage of its use ; ) Kelly is an awesome hostess! Her customer service is excellent making sure we had everything we needed and providing a comfortable atmosphere. The AC in our room stopped working, and Kelly promptly cleaned an available suite for us to move to. We found ourselves lucky to have been able to stay in the Bollywood suite AND the Mission suite...both amazing and unique! When we return to NOLA, we will be staying here! Anyone planning a trip to NOLA should experience this absolutely wonderful abode! Thank you Kelly for having us! Tom and Debbie

True New Orleans Feel!Guest comment entered by owner
True New Orleans Feel!
From the moment you see the front of the house to the pool area...you immediately know your in the Big Easy. We rented the entire house and will do it again next year. Each room has a neat theme! Hot tub was down (seasonal), but no need due to the HEAT. Pool made up for it......Thanks!

My New Favorite Place to Stay in New Orleans
My New Favorite Place to Stay in New Orleans
Where do I start? The Lookout Inn was perfect for our group's weekend getaway. From the intial contact about booking, up until departure to come home, the experience was enjoyable, All four of the suites were nice, clean and unique. If you are only choosing one, I reccomend the Mission Suite. Our group got our money's worth from usage of the pool alone. It really hit the spot after a long hot day in the Quarter. I honestly cannot say enough about this fine establishment. There were even mutliple times where I was contacted just to make sure we were properly parked b/c vehicles were seen getting towed in the area. My group just got back and are already planning on organizing a trip back next year.

This place was beyond my expectation! So charming, intimate, romantic...we loved it! My boyfriend & I stayed in the Mardi Gras suite, and it was amazing! Spacious little apartment, with it's own living room, bedroom & incredibly large bathroom with a clawfoot bathtub. The room was decorated with character and with a personal touch. The courtyard outside is amazing & beautifully gardened with a saltwater pool, little outdoor kitchen & lounging area. It was quiet and intimate, and had a beautiful character and ambiance of intimacy. We found some interesting little pubs and places to eat within walking distance. I'll never forget my stay here...and definitely plan to come back some day!

I came to visit friends and experience the real New Orleans outside of the tourist centers. Off the beaten track, The Lookout Inn was exactly what I was hoping for. Elizabeth's restaurant in walking distance was a gem! The pool at night was the perfect way to cool off. And the decor in the Bollywood suite was a kick. I am definitely staying here again, but I think I will try the Elvis suite next time. Oh, and when I accidentally left my hat, Chris was a sweetheart in finding and mailing it back to me!

We just spent two nights in the Mission Suite and our only disappointment is that we couldn't spend a week. (they were full) What a wonderful, relaxing spot! Absolutely delightful and just what we needed after a 13 hour drive and cancelled cruise. We'll definitely keep this space in mind when scheduling our next trip to New Orleans. It is away from the noise and traffic of the French Quarter but closeby (5 minutes) if you want to go there. We found the neighborhood cafes (Elizabeth's, The Joint, Bywater Cafe) to be refreshing, friendly, tasty and economical. LOVE the neighborhoods with all the great architecture and history. Our contact people were so kind and accomodating for our unexpected changes in our plans.

We rented all 4 suites in late February for a bachelor's party and everyone had a FANTASTIC time! The house is amazing, with tons of amenities that we did not even begin to enjoy (ran out of time!) I'd definitely recommend this to anyone and would've probably given the full 5 stars had we been able to fully take advantage of all the accommodations, being that it was too cold to use the pool that time of year. I will say, though, that the caretakers did make sure we had clean, hot water in the hot tub and I would recommend taking advantage of this if you should book this place while the weather does not permit swimming in the pool...
