The house is located in an old fashioned charming community called Banks O'Dee, on a creek right off the historic Potomac River. The community is very small and quiet, and the neighbors are very friendly!
The house itself is over 3000 square feet. The master bedroom is 20 x 26 with its own private bath, spiral staircase, and offers a 180 degree view of Cuckold Creek and Perry Branch. The family room features a woodburning fireplace, floor to ceiling windows, and access to the screened in porch. Three of the four bedrooms upstairs have access to the sunny deck for morning coffee and afternoon sunbathing. It's not unusual to be sitting out in the yard, near the pier, and see bald eagles, osprey, swans & great blue heron doing their thing. Of course we can't forget about the family of ducks that come wading through from time to time.
You are more than welcome to bring your boat, jet ski, kayak or canoe and use our private pier along with our own private boat ramp. We also have a jet ski lift for use as well. You can navigate to several restaurants from CUCKOLD CREEK to the Potomac river. Charter fishing, boat rentals, and cruises can be reserved at nearby Cobb Island. Crab traps and bicycles are provided for your use.
Do you enjoy golf and tennis? That's just minutes away at the Swan Point Yacht and Country Club. Swan Point Yacht & Country Club is like no other course in the Washington, DC, area. When you arrive at their course located on the banks of the Potomac River, you’re going to feel as if you’ve been transported to the barrier islands of the Carolinas.
Tourism from here: in Maryland, Virginia, Washington, DC area; One hour to all the following: U.S. Capitol and Museums, Old Town Alexandria, VA, Potomac Mills Shopping Mall (one of the largest malls on the east coast), Mt. Vernon (George Washington's Home), Fredericksburg (Antiques and Civil War battlefields), Robert E. Lee and George Washington birthplaces...Westmoreland Berry Farm.
1.5 hours to Annapolis, MD and Richmond, VA (Kings Dominion Theme Park). It is 2.5 hours to Colonial Williamsburg, Waterworld and Busch Gardens.
