Beautiful 2 bedroom, 2 bath oceanfront Condo located on second level in a 3 level building. The unit was recently remodeled and refurbished. It is cozy with fantastic ocean and beach views. This condo is less than 100 feet to the water's edge - Any closer you would be wet! The deck is located on the north side so the sun is not unbearable which makes it very comfortable all day. Sun lovers can bake on the beach! There is a manned lifeguard station on the beach. 1 queen bed; 2 twin beds; 2 baths; full kitchen; 2 tv's; 2 VCR/DVD players; deck with table and chairs; DSL SECURE Internet; new central air. There is a new pool that just opened in 2008. PROPERTY IS VERY CONVENIENTLY LOCATED NEAR RESTAURANTS, SHOPPING, 10-SCREEN MOVIE THEATER, ATTRACTIONS AND THINGS TO DO, LARGE GROCERY STORE, FISHING PIER, AND GOLFING

The condo is excellent for a great vacation. It was clean, cutely decorated, well provisioned, and extremely well located. All the historical and otherwise touristy things to see are all around this spot. The restaurants are close in every direction - some even within easy walking distance. The balcony was a wonderful spot to take wine and cheese with crackers in the afternoon and to see the sunrise in the morning. The view of the beach was very relaxing. There's even an old shipwreck about a half mile south of the condo within 30 yards of the beach. A few ribs of the wooden frame can be seen at low tide. All the historical old towns in the area are an easy day trip to see. Bath and New Bern were our two favorites. They were incorporated and had houses that dated from the early 1700s. A four wheel ride into the communities north of Corolla is a must. How often do you get to see wild horses up close in their habitat? I thought the shared washer and dryer would be a small minus for me, but the room was easily located next to the entrance to the beach. Putting a load of laundry into the machine and going for a nice walk next to the ocean was something that I found I actually looked forward to. Who knew? Also, there is no need for keeping coins for the machines. They're not coin operated. A nice and unexpected plus. We enjoyed the stay very much and recommend the condo to everyone. I LOVED this Kill Devil Hills condo! After reading the previous review, I had to write a review of my stay last year. Although it is a little pricey, I really wanted to stay here again in 2010, but couldn't quite afford it, so I ended up at Myrtle Beach. For two people in our fifties, the small flights of stairs were a non-issue. And with all the time we spent in bathing suits - we otherwise had packed light and didn't have to wash much more than a few hand washables in the sink - my boyfriend was still able to use the washer/dryer with no problems twice during our stay. Our stay was the last full week of August 2009 and I would most definitely go back again. Our full deposit was promptly returned within two weeks. Favorite food spot: Goombay's a few doors down. Hope to go again!

Pros: The condo was clean, neat, had a beautiful view and a great location. Cons: Had to walk up 4 flights of stairs to the condo. No washer/dryer in the unit. The laundry room is shared by all units in the building and there were only 2 washing machines/2 dryers (only 1 dryer was working when we were there). It was very inconvenient to share with all of the other tennants in the complex. Caution: Do not leave the rental property until the cleaning crew arrives. The evening before our check out date, we cleaned the condo and decided to get an early start back home. Three weeks later received a letter claiming there was "wet permanent ink on the carpeting" when the cleaning lady arrived the following day! This was impossible -- no one in our party even had markers! Regardless, the accusation cost us our deposit. The cleaning lady claimed she had photos of the damage and promised to send them to me. 45 days have gone by and we have yet to receive the photos (even though I've called/requested 2 more times). I personally expressed my concerns to the owner and she offered to split the difference of deposit with us. I have yet to receive any additional funds in the mail. Therefore, be sure to take your own photos of the condo when you are leaving the unit! Unfortunately, we would not return -- very expensive and not worth the aggravation. Although the owner seemed very nice and trustworthy --she did not forward pictures nor our deposit - as promised.
Owner response: Our rental season from june 6 thru august 29 (12 weeks) was completely booked for 2010 - 11 of the 12 renters left very favorable comments in our guest book- only one renter received less than a full security deposit refund (due to some damage in the condo) which seemed to have caused one negative comment- The condo is located on level 3 of a 4-story building- it is beautifully furnished, clean, and well-kept The unit was totally remodeled and refurbished in 2007 Location is on the beach and as close to the ocean as you can get without getting wet Centrally located near shopping, restaurants, movies, and many fun activities We make every effort to accomodate our guests and keep our condo as clean and neat as possible Our policy of No Smoking, No Pets, and only 4 guests per rental helps keep the unit in first class condition This unit offers an extremely good value for a memorable vacation
