Tucked high in a hillside and nestled into groves of Aspen trees, with magnificent views of the Tetons and the Snake River Range, Overlook is about 10 minutes to the Jackson Town Square, 15 minutes to the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and 20 minutes to Grand Teton National Park.
It is situated on Gros Ventre West, a butte overlooking protected ranch land with ponds and grasses. The home itself features a nearly continuous wall of glass on the northwest side to frame the Teton range. Every room has a view of the mountains, and the open and long floor plan, with an outside patio, provides a perfect space for entertaining or for quiet evenings watching the sun set behind the Tetons. The sunny kitchen opens to the dining area and great room room with a river rock fireplace. Doors open off the dining/living area to the deck and majestic views beyond.
The living, dining, kitchen combination is almost completely wrapped in glass giving views to the wooded hillside, southwest towards the setting sun and northwest towards the Grand Teton. Painted wood walls and rough-sawn flooring give the space a rustic yet fresh feeling. The master suite, with king-size bed, and warmed by a river rock fireplace has terraces on both sides of the room. One, tucked in the hillside, the other, which is shared by the master bath with vistas of the mountain ranges.
The master bath is a vacation in itself, with a soothing jetted tub surrounded by windows on three sides allowing in views of the Tetons and surrounding mountains and aspen trees and wandering wildlife. The final touch in this bath retreat is the sauna which opens up to the terrace and views beyond. Drop down behind the great room’s river rock fireplace to the downstairs living area, with a wood stove, television and comfy seating area. The secondary living area shares the lower level three bedrooms, two with queen beds and one with twins.
One bedroom has a private bath and the other two bedrooms share a bathroom. Doors from the bedrooms open to the terrace which runs along the entire lower level, bringing in breezes and views as well as access to the soft green lawn and hammock. Moose, elk and deer graze on the hillside among the aspens. |
