Drive up to the large parking area of Mountain Vista, and the first thing you'll notice is the deck and the view. It's incredibly beautiful. Open the door and enter the great room. To your left is the kitchen area attached to the great room. Even if you're cooking dinner, you're right in the middle of the action. To your right is the dining area, and straight ahead, a beautiful stone, wood burning fireplace. The great room has cathedral ceilings and lots of wood and glass; it brings the outside right on in. Two sets of sliding glass doors lead out to the deck.
The deck area has a Weber grill, lounge chairs, table and chairs, and a hammock. Off the deck is a great fire pit for roasting marshmallows under a star-filled night sky.
Back in the house is a hallway leading to a bedroom and full bath. Go up the stairs, and you're in the master bedroom. Here you will find a king size bed, walk-in closet, another full bathroom with step in shower, and a reading nook.
Outside there's horseshoes, a hiking trail, another hammock, and total privacy. Grab a hiking stick and head on up the mountain to explore!
Our cabin has lots of folks who return year after year. It's located in an unspoiled part of Appalachia which also happens to have more to do in it than anywhere else. Within a short drive you can swim in a pristine lake, rent a pontoon boat for the day, go whitewater rafting, ride a horse, climb a mountain, visit the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, ride the Great Smokies Railroad, do a zip line adventure, tube down Deep Creek, and more. A week is not nearly enough to enjoy it all.

Beautiful View and Lots to Do in the Smokies
Year Purchased: 2004
Why the Owner Chose Robbinsville
Western North Carolina is perfect for us. We like whitewater rafting, hiking, fishing, zip lines and communicating with nature. This area has more of what we come to the mountains for...seclusion, natural splendor, less people, more things to do, etc. We didn't want to be in the middle of a lot of tourism; we already have that in Florida. We wanted a place to get away from it all. We found it here...a little piece of paradise.
The Unique Benefits at this Chalet
When we are here, we like to fish, plant flowers, and beautify the property. We enjoy hiking up to the top of the mountain in back of us, or chilling out in the hammock, or feeding the birds. The road is private, there's nothing to see but the forest and mountains. It's the best place to feel one with nature.
Fish or rent a pontoon boat on two lakes. Lots of stocked trout streams nearby, too!~
Owner's Map of Robbinsville
Bill is a retired nuclear engineer and I'm a retired teacher. We have a big family that likes nature, hiking, fishing, and enjoying the great outdoors. Both of us love the mountains. Being Floridians, we like the change of scenery from flat land and palm trees to mountains, cooler weather, and lush green forests that the Smokies provide. We are thrilled when our grandkids are able to come up to the mountains and experience camp fires, marshmellow roasts, hiking, and nature.
