Why the Owner Chose Nashville
This property is an old family farm thats been in my husband's (Nate) family for over 4 generations. We moved onto the land 14 years ago and began the work of clearing the brush and creating our first rental, we call it, "The Magnolia Cottage." In 2004 we designed and built Uncle Pete's Cabin. The log portion of this cabin was actually built by Nate's Uncle Pete many years ago. Last year (2008) we added our 3rd accommodation, "The Calico Cottage." The Calico is mostly a studio (efficiency) rental that works great as a second bedroom/bath for two couples traveling together who want completely private sleeping quarters that are nearby. Many people like to rent the Calico as their private little rental on it's own. We have all three of our rentals listed here, be sure to check them out!

At the Interstate exit, which is only 4.5 miles from the property, you'll have the convenience of a large new shopping mall with great casual dining restaurants like the Olive Garden, O'Charley's, Logans Roadhouse, Red Lobster, Ruby Tuesday's, Cracker Barrel, Red Robin and several fast food eateries.

Nate and I live on his 4th generation family farm in the growing city of Mt. Juliet, TN...only a 20 minute drive from downtown Nashville. We created Uncle Pete's Cabin in 2004, the log structure was originally built by Nate's Uncle Pete and dates back to the Civil War era. My background is in the country music industry, CBS Recording Studio and TNN (The Nashville Network) television production. I've also done quite a bit of interior decorating, as well as, kitchen and bath design. Together, we created our place we call Rockhaven. I designed and Nate built the rentals we call The Magnolia Cottage, Uncle Pete's Cabin and The Calico Cottage. Together, you both managed to create a cottage that was perfect for me and Ashton. I also loved the stars on the ceiling in my parents cottage (The Magnolia), it felt like I was outside looking up at the real stars that shine at night! These two were such a pleasure to have as our guests in the Garden Suite. The minute they arrived and looked around, Diane came across the lawn telling me how beautiful everything was and Howard had a great sense of humor, always pulling little pranks. These two lovely people have 7 children. Kevin flies private jets all over the country while Suzanne stays home and takes care of the kids. We could tell they needed some quite time together. They told us over and over how much they enjoyed their stay. They wrote in our guest book that love overflows from our hearts and lives to have created such a beauiful place to share with others.
