Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2007
We are a young family who loves Northern Michigan.
Why the Owner Chose Charlevoix
We love to spend time relaxing on the "big lake" with family and friends. We have extensive family in the area and know it is the spot we want to be in when we retire. Nothing beats a sunset over Lake Michigan with your loved ones sitting beside you!
The Unique Benefits of this House
We have a gorgeous view of the lake and a private lot so you won't encounter any neighbors. We have tried to make the accomodations comfortable by having a grill, solid pine patio furniture, a flat screen TV (for DVD's), finished basement, and a large renovated bathroom for our guests. The close proximity to town is nice but also great to be away from it too.

We grew up in Charlevoix, and our brother lives in Norwood about a mile from here. It was very comfortable for the four of us (five for 3 days). Great views from the deck overlooking Lake Michigan. We sat out there in the mornings drinking our coffee and watching the seagulls, swans, and geese. Also saw a pair of eagles fly over. The kitchen is well stocked, which we love since we don't eat out, but enjoy all the fresh produce in season. (raided our brother's garden). Beach is more rocky than sand, but you can still get out in the water and enjoy a dip. Would come back again without hesitation.

My husband and I spent one week at this home and had the most relaxing time ever. The home is comfortable with everything you need. The deck overlooks Lake Michigan and the sunsets were amazing! One evening there were 17 swans swimming past the home. The beach area is great. The home is on a very quiet street with no traffic yet you are close enough to Charlevoix if you want anything. We would definately recommend this home to anyone who loves nature and peace and quiet. The home was very clean and well maintained. We rode the Little Traverse Wheelway bike path from Charlevoix to Petosky and enjoyed all the beautiful views.

We spent a beautiful fall weekend in the house and loved every minute of it. This place is clean and obviously well cared for, so we enjoyed it from the minute we walked in. The home is nice and comfortable, and the setting is great -- it was the peace and quiet (and view) that we wanted for a relaxing weekend. We enjoyed walking around the beach, the state park, and Charlevoix. And seeing a bald eagle fly by the window during breakfast was a nice touch! We've rented several places in the area over the years, and this is one of the very few that we'd really like to get back to sometime.

We spent a delightful week in this beautiful, private home, where the cool summer breeze greeted us each morning as we awoke. This is a great location, allowing easy access to Charlevoix, Petoskey, and Traverse City, but we have decided that a future visit might best be spent just enjoying the wondrous sights of aquatic life visible from the back porch. Our final morning in the house was highlighted by five swans feeding on the water right below the house--what natural beauty. When considering that every single day we saw deer as we approached the road to the house, I would have to say that this is as close to an unspoiled natural setting that one is likely to find in the Midwest. The house itself was great, well-equipped with modern amenities, more than comfortable for our family of five, with two bedrooms downstairs and a big loft providing lots of sleeping space. We wish we had had more time up there but look forward to another possible visit some time in the future.
