Pretty-much everything that the other reviewers said. The place is really nice. We can't imagine anyone being disappointed in it. I also noticed the "man stuff" like the quality custom carpentry, fire safety sprinklers, and automatic generator. We "settled" for this place (wanted to go to a different area like NYC) since the owner was 1 of only 2 VRBO owners who responded to 6 property inquiries, and his responses were speedy and friendly.

A wonderful cottage for the perfect getaway

This little cottage has everything you need to relax and spoil yourself. The owners have taken the time to make you feel welcome as soon as you enter. The cheerful decor and comfortable furniture make you feel right at home. The cottage was very clean and there was an abundance of information for guests such as area attractions and places to eat. The kitchen is fully equipped, so you have a choice of going out to eat or cooking your own meals. The best part of this location is obviously the water views. We sat on the deck often and listened to gulls and geese and watched swans move beautifully across the water. We recommend this cottage to all who need a little time to "recharge their batteries".

This is a charming cottage with everything a vacationer could ask for. The kitchen is well-equipped, the bedroom cozy and the living room/dining area plenty big enough. The owners have provided lots of extras - DVDs and CDs, binoculars (plenty of birds to explore), lovely soaps and shampoos. But the piece de resistance is the deck. We were outside almost all the time, admiring the view of the water, relaxing, just enjoying whatever the weather brought. I would recommend this rental to any 2-4 people interested.

We have stayed at this home several times and find it refreshing. It is very lovely space with peaceful water views.The deck is delightful. We have always found the place clean, comfortable and well-maintained. Additional beautiful touches appear each year. .An elevator for those of us with mobility challenges is so useful. The owners are very friendly and helpful and answer questions with thought and honesty. My husband and I wholeheartedly recommend a stay here. There are many excellent restaurants in Stonington and Mystic, and we always enjoy the Mystic Seaport and Village.

This weekend has been absolutely perfect and we couldn't have asked for anything better to celebrate our first wedding anniversary!! We loved walking around town and going into a few great restaurants and shops. This will definitely be a weekend to remember and hopefully we can celebrate every anniversary right here! Relaxed and Happy

We stayed for two glorious weeks this summer. Neil and Julie did not overlook a single thing in this lovely cottage. We had coffee on the deck in the morning and wine and cheese out there at night. It is close to beaches, restaurants and cultural events. But mostly we relaxed! Its' seclusion is perfect for a couple needing to get away from the bustle of work and life and to a quiet vacation, stress free. You barely see the neighbors, ;) and pets are welcome. Looking at our calendar now to see when we can return.

[from the guest book] We have had a wonderful 2 weeks at the cottage. Everything about it is perfect. We shall miss the ducks, swans, and the resident Great Blue Heron that appeared this past week. Our weather was also perfect and a great respite from Wash. D.C. heat oppression. We enjoyed our week here in December as well and noticed that you had added a few more beautiful touches to the cottage. Your home is a joy. We look forward to coming again.

The cottage is nothing short of picture perfect. The 4th of July holiday (2011) was my second stay at the and I can't wait to spend a third. The setting is ideal for a relaxing get a way, the location is close to many area attractions and the amenities suit every need. Thanks Neil and Julie!

We had a lovely time at your cozy cottage. It was what we were looking for; beautiful view, away from the hustle and bustle. Our little Yorkies just loved the yard; Jack wanted to go swimming and took a jump off the dock. Luckily he was on his leash so Rob reeled him back up. Thank you and hope to visit again.

Neil & Julie: Thank you so much for sharing your home! I haven't felt this relaxed in years! Watching the sun rise over the water was the perfect way to start the day! Sipping a glass of wine on the deck overlooking the water as the day came to a close was just lovely! Sitting on an adirondack chair with my Lab next to me while soaking in the sun and looking out onto the inlet was incredible as well! After one day of relaxation, I felt inspired to cook - something I love but seldom have time to do! I wish every vacation left me feeling this way! Thank you again! -Danna

We loved this house. It was amazing!!!!!!!! I hope everyone enjoys their stay as much as we did. We didn't want to leave. Swans and duck and the most amazing sunsets ever. We sat on the deck and relaxed. The owners make this house feel like it's your. Details they put into it was amazing. I will be back next year and hopefully every year after that.

[from the guest book] We so enjoyed your lovely cottage. From sunrise on the deck to reading in the shade of that magnificent tree to lazing on the sun-drenched deck - it was all wonderful! Thank you for your hospitality and attention to detail. So many thoughtful touches. Loved the proximity to Westerly (Ocean House veranda) and Stonington (Skipper's Dock for sunset dinner). Had a great dinner at the Shelter Harbor Inn and - of course- lobster rolls by the water at Abbott's!

I stayed at this cottage the last week of June and had a wonderful time. The property was neat, clean, and tastefully decorated. There was everything you could possibly need in terms of accommodations including a washer, dryer, vacuum, wireless internet, full cable, and an abundance of clean towel including beach towels. The property is quiet, but close to everything. It is a 10 minute drive to Mystic Village or, if you go in the opposite directions, to Watch Hill and Misquamicut Beaches. It is also close to many antique shops including Milltown Primitives. Not only would I recommend this property, I am hoping to have an opportunity to stay again next summer.

We stayed at this property in July of 2009. It is perfectly lovely, comfortable, clean, filled with amenities. We especially enjoyed sitting on the deck with a beautiful view. The grounds are a delight. The house is just as pictured, and the owner a very nice man with whom to make arrangements. There is much to do in the Stonington/Mystic area. Great restaurants. We enjoyed our stay.

[From the guestbook] Loved the house being on the water. Despite the threat of Hurricane Bill, we had beautiful weather. Sunny skies and cool breezes at night made the location perfect. Enjoyed the large yard with our dog. She would not come out of the water while we fished from the floating dock. Would have liked a longer dock to get into deeper water for the 'big fish', but the relaxation did wonders for the normal grind of life with work. Just what we needed.

Hands down one of the nicest, most peaceful places to recouperate and rekindle with your loved one. Had lower back surgery on April 15ht and had a wondefrful quiet recovery time. The scenery should be on a postcard! Neil and Julie were very gracious and nice hosts! Had a wonderful time and can't wait to do it again!

Billy Joel concert [at nearby casino]; US Coast Guard Academy and CT College tours [~30 min. away], Submarine Base Museum [~30 min. away], Mystic [~15 min. away]...swimming, lounging, movies [current DVDs provided]. This is one of the best rentals that we've ever experienced. Beautiful setting, every amenity you can you could ask for, fully stocked kitchen, great yard....I could go on and on. It's close enough to Mystic and Stonington Village by car, but far enough away to to be out of the rush. This has been a relaxing stay. I'd highly recommend this rental.
