LA SONRISA (the smile), is a tranquil hideaway located in "Shangri La," better know as the Ojai Valley. La Sonrisa is located in the exclusive East End of Ojai, where homes are hidden between orange and avocado groves, situated down private lanes.
This beautifully appointed, 1200 sq foot, light and bright, private home offers a spacious living room, large dining room, fully appointed, full-size kitchen, master bedroom with a romantic four-poster King bed, and a second large bedroom with a queen bed. La Sonrisa was remodeled in the last three years, with great attention to detail. The fully fenced and gated property offers tremendous privacy, three separate patios and seating areas, a very private, large hot tub to enjoy, and a large fountain to soothe the soul. In the morning, you are more than welcome to “pick your glass of juice,” and in the evening, enjoy a glass of wine on the terrace, watching the sunset.
This part of the valley is home to Thacher School, Ojai Valley School-Upper Campus, the Krishnamurti Foundation, Meditation Mount, and a talented variety of artists and artisans. The town of Ojai, a short 5 minute drive, offers wonderful shopping - art galleries, boutiques and world-class restaurants. The valley can also provide you with access to numerous health spas and outdoor activities - world-class golf and tennis, hiking, biking, horse-back riding, boating, and so much more. Situated only 15 miles from the Pacific Ocean and the town of Ventura, Ojai is a superb “jumping off” point to visit the central coast from.

The Unique Benefits at this Cottage
From late February through early May, the East End is awash in the smell of orange blossoms, the sun shines, (usually), and the winds are soft. The valley is buzzing with activities as well, from the Tennis Tournament, to the Music Festival, there is usually something to do every weekend. In the summer, we are close enough to the ocean to enjoy cool comfortable evenings after warm sunny days. In the fall, the light is spectacular, and once again, there are lots of events to attend. Year round the skies are blue, the mountains are beautiful and there is always something to do, or not if you would rather take a spa day or simply read a book.
