We had a great time while at the Sherwood House this year. Amazing place to stay a few days away from -most- everything. The house has everything you can expect/need, and the surroundings are just beautiful. 100% recommended. We will repeat soon, no doubt about that.

Recommended for:Families with teenagers, families with young children.

Sherwood House was a great place for our gathering of 2 families for a ski trip to Colorado. The house is spacious, open and very conducive to family dinners and relaxation after a day of skiing. The location is perfect, close to a number of ski slopes and Breckenridge, yet has privacy and quiet at the house. The hot tub was a big hit, especially the view of Red Mountain peak in the background and the stars at night. The Dixons were very friendly, accommodating and attentive, thank you! We had a wonderful time and hope to return to Sherwood House in the future.

We have a group of eight ladies that love to come up to Sherwood House every April/May for our retreat. We have come to think of Sherwood House as our second home - our home away from home. We enjoy our time together so much, but being in this beautiful home makes it so extra special. We've tried other places, but always seem to come back to Sherwood House. This year will be our 5th year staying here. We have all decided that this is the place we want to stay every year from now on.

WOW! What a fabulous vacation home away from home. We spent 6 weeks this summer at The Sherwood House and thought we were in heaven! We had more than enough room for our family and friends to come and go. We loved being in the woods, sitting in the hot tub, and hiking around the area. Breckenridge is only 5 minutes away and has lots of great dining spots. Katy's brother, Joel, lives next door to The Sherwood House and was also a dream come true. He was so helpful with any maintenance issues. Our vacation was so wonderful that we have rented The Sherwood House again for 6 weeks the summer of 2008!

My wife and I rented the Sherwood House and brought along our two Golden Retrievers. We were really pleased that the Dixons welcomed our dogs - Breckenridge is a great place for a vacation with the canines. We were thrilled with how spacious, comfortable and well-maintained the house was - we almost don't want to tell anyone so we can keep it to ourselves! This would be a great place for a few couples to share. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

Look no further! This is it. I spent quite a bit of time searching for the perfect house to host a girls weekend for a friend who will be getting married this Fall -- we could not have been happier with the results. Beautiful location - close to town but not too close. The Dixons were wonderful to work with - even providing insider tips on nearby hikes. I highly recommend this property.

Wow! It looked nice on VRBO but the home is even more impressive than we expected. The mountain setting & view, proximity to Breck, and a bunch of 14ers' nearby to tackle, some mountain biking nearby was great, and the house was so clean and relaxing. There is so much room that all 6 of our three generation group had more than enough space, even without utilizing the optional downstairs "apartment". Everything was deluxe and clean. This will be my first option to consider for future vacations in that area. It would be great for 3 or 4 couples to rent together.

What a beautiful & inviting home! Everything was perfect for our girl's weekend getaway. Close enough to Breckenridge to enjoy the town & yet far enough that we felt like we could kick back and relax! The Dixon family was very accomdating & a pleasure to deal with!!! Can't wait to visit in the summer time with our family.

Summer in Breckenridge is awesome. My family stayed at Sherwood House in July 2006. Beautiful cannot describe this home enough. Quiet sleeping, tons of room on any floor and close to town. Everyone spent most their time around the kitchen and in the hot tub. We recommend this home to anyone headed to Breckenridge, at any time of year! Thanks Dixons !!

Sherwood House is the best! It was the perfect place for relatives to stay on the occasion of a summer family wedding in Breckenridge. We came from KS, IA, WS,and MI to the "big house in the forest. Our group consisted of 8 adults, 3 teens and 5 younger kids. There was ample space for both "togetherness" and "privacy" at the same time. Every family had their private bath and sleeping quarters. The beds were great!The hot tub was fun, and cribbage at the the dining room table was a blast!We were there for five fun-filled days.The little kids enjoyed the "wall", the maze and the slide; some adults hit the golf course, others took in whitewater rafting, shopping and, lest I forget the reason why we all gather in Co - the wedding was one of a kind in a mountain gulch with the magnificent peaks of the Rockies in the background! I hope I don't have to wait until another family wedding to return to the Sherwood House. Now that I've been there, it keeps calling me back. Our stay at Sherwood House was so fun & relaxing. There were 4+ families with kids ranging from 3 years old to 17 years old. Everyone had so much space! The hot tub was a huge hit for all of us! I cannot believe how well we all slept. You could not even hear others were in the same house! My 17 year old enjoyed going out for a jog in the beautiful area around the house. We want to go back in the winter, stay at the Sherwood House & ski Breckenridge!

Renting the Sherwood House, managed by Katy Dixon, over the Labor Day weekend was a great and positive experience. The house was exactly as advertised. Coordinating all rental details with Katy was easy, with no hidden surprises… a real pleasure to do business with. This house has great space, views, and location. We had 11 people in our group and all sleep comfortably. All-in-all, I would HIGHLY recommend renting the Sherwood House. Also, the PRICE was great as well! When we plan our next trip to Breckinridge, this location will be at the top of our list.Great House for US Air Force Academy Parent's Weekend.

Our group consisted of 4 retired couples who spent a month at Sherwood House. The 4 separate bedrooms, each with private bath and king bed, were perfect for our group. It served as a home base to play golf, fish, raft, hike, etc. Blue River location convenient to other attractions. We ate in 4 nights a week, with each couple cooking one night. Good restaurants in Breckenridge, Frisco. Katy was a pleasure to deal with, and the monthly rental price was attractive. We highly recommend Sherwood House for this kind of group vacation.

What a wonderful time we had in Breck at the Dixon place. The house was warm, and cozy. We all enjoyed the hot tub at night, and the big king beds throughout our restless evenings, not to mention the huge TV. Thanks again, and hope to see the Dixon place next year.

What a treat! This house has EVERYTHING you could ever want; right down to the fluffy towels & cushy rugs in the bathrooms. Despite the many fine restaurants in the area, we couldn't bring ourselves to leave this magical place - except of course to ski! Fortunately, the pizza delivery man knew right where to go. A big thank you to the Dixon Family for your warm hospitality. We're already planning our next trip back. Keep the hot tub warm for us!

With so many great options in Colorado the Sherwood house is one of the most relaxing and inviting we have found. This New Years was the second year we have rented the house and as always it was even better than we expected. If you want a big beautiful house to play in the mountains look no further!

Sherwood house was wonderful. It was very roomy and very clean and had all the right essentials. The radiant floors were an added bonus which made the house super warm and comfortable. The location was perfect for XC skiing near Hoosier Pass and at the ski area. We would love to visit again!

My family reunion over Christmas break at the Sherwood House was wonderful. The house was spectacular(but we knew it would be)! Very comfortable for this group of 13. We have taken many family vacations and I must say that Sherwood House is the very best place that we have ever stayed!! It has all the comforts of home -- nicely appointed and CLEAN. The setting is just fantastic -- so peaceful and relaxing but just minutes away from where all the action is! We especially enjoyed our walks after dinner, sending the kids to town, and relaxing in the hot tub and enjoying the incredible Colorado skies! Thanks Katy!

I've been to many GRAND lodges in the USA, Canada as well as Europe. I can truthfully say that none have been more private, comfortable and relaxing than Sherwood House. Skiing is supurb!

Been to Sherwood House many times in all seasons and each was better than the other. Winter skiing is great, loved the festivals and mountain treking in summer, fall colors are spectacular and Summit County is a great vacation any time. Sherwood House is the best kept secret with all the comforts of home and more. We always come with two other couples and there's room for everyone to have their space and still be together. Once you stay there you'll have to come back.

This house is a great place to stay with a group of people, very clean, large kitchen, large bedrooms and lots of bathrooms. The hot tub is WONDERFUL!. Breckenridge is only 5 min away which made skiing with our group of 5 kids under 8 easy. We were also able to get in some great sightseeing,shopping, taking the gold mine tour, hiking and even skiing at other ski resorts which are close by. You can't go wrong staying here, we will be back, thank you!
